Welcome to the Best Recording Opinion/Feedback/Source File Thread of Dave and Friends 2003-2004.

This thread can be used to post comments about recordings. Also use this thread to find out when a recording has become available. So use this thread to your advantage. Get other opinions, list your opinions, and just keep track on the current recordings being spread.

Listed below is each of the played tour dates with taper info (purposely in alphabetic order). If you click the tapers name the source file for that recording will come up for you to view.

Look through the thread for opinions on recordings. Many times Ants will make a list of their choices.

If you happen to have a recording not listed here please at least send me the source file so that i can host it for others to view. My AIM screen name is JoeMal1121 and my email is Joe@antsmarching.org.

NOTE: It is very important that the tapers want you to know that this is nothing offical. Everyones opinions will differ. While I base all opinions on a computer and home stereo test of clarity, range, balance, vocals, crowd noise, and many other things these are still accurate notations. If you have any questions be sure to ask.

These are based on opinions and feedback. Every one of these recordings are concidered good and each taper puts a great amount of work into them. If you can, download them all and listen for yourself. That's what I would recommend.

The mk4v -> kcy active is most likely Scott Berner and the MK4 > KCy I is most likely Greg M.

Just a guess, though.

Yea that's what I think it normally is. I normally reference past sources. But my server with the summer 03 source files is down and I didn't go any further. I really need to get that server online. Thank ccronks. :)

And I'm not sure yet on best sources yet, I have to hook some better speakers up to this computer before I compare.

Threw them up on my server even though the line it's on blows and likely will never be up when you want something.

OK, here we go. I really hate doing this, because all the recordings are great, and a lot of these decisions were really hard. Anyway, here's my opinions for the best sources so far:

12/12: Berner (over Davenport, Naylor, Sisak, Phipps, Nobles, White, and Mendelsohn)
12/13: Jones (over McCullough and Clark)
12/15: Naylor (over Willbanks, Furbush, White, Thoma, and Lynn)
12/16: Dahlgren (over Jones and Naylor)
12/17: Brown - Bastable a close second (over Woods, Angelis, McCullough, Maler and Thoma)
12/19: Naylor - Vernal a close second (over Maler, Mendelsohn and Sisak)
12/20: Naylor (over Sisak, Bastable, Vernal, Berner, White and Mendelsohn)
12/22: Naylor (over Ice and Kuklinski)

Here ya go:

1/12: Vernal (over Green)
1/14: Willoughby (over Wang and Guillen)
1/15: Wang (over Stone)
1/16: Willoughby - Wang a close second (same taping locations, so it's a matter of mic preference) (over Bendes)

dm40band

Wang over Stone??? now i usually take your preference well maybe like 90% of the time but why Wang over Stone??? George was dead center and Ian was somewhat in front of the stack
