All the 01/16/04 shows appear to be missing from the SHN server.

Could someone please respond to this thread when the shows are returned? Muchas Gracias. :)

Joe and Donald appear to be aware of this problem and I suspect that it will be corrected as soon as they have the time to handle the update.

Ok. Thanks for taping that. Did you also catch the Trey and Emmy Lou "the maker" that closed her opener. Was that taped?
Also, too bad about the dickhead (s) with their snappy conversation in this recording. Maybe he disappears from the tape during the main set because you raise the microphone level. Or maybe one of the taped skirmishes is his ejection from the area. I am anxious to hear a source recorded from a different location in that arena to see if it is minus the yobbo. This guy gets the ultimate: shout at the performers to play something (eg. wise men say...) and then scream and hoot the entire time they play it. This makes NO SENSE as a behaviour or lifestyle choice. Defend it if you like. go ahead. Shouting in the glass house. Boo. Suck. Hiss. Dancing in the glass house... giv'er.
I am very happy about this recording because I was dancing four seats away from this mic. Right at the front corner of the sideways section on the floor (Trey side)... right next to woody. WE travelled thousands of miles to be there and it is very very very much appreciated when a taper goes out of their way to capture the event for posterity. Thanks. The one I've heard is very good.
[On a related note, when tour 2001 comes around, I want to talk about Montreal. I have had some success reading the muddy version into audacity in order to bass boost and amplify. I'm also playing with normalizing. I'd like to know what is the concensus on post-processing. Obviously don't degrade it and if you trade it, label it and include the original credit to tapers. But has there been a concensus on this? I assume that all the SHN sources are original source, unwibbled.
The montreal 2001 show is a classic candidate for regeneration because of it's awesome Recently and LBV with Dave and the ladies, but it's currently lost in the mud. Very low volume. no bass.

1. penn darvis isn't the taper of the show.
2. if you alter the tapes in any way, you shouldn't be trading in them. the taper's usually work as best they can to equalize the levels to the best as they can without reducing or loss of quality.
3. so, in the end, penn darvis isn't craig willoughby, the taper, he seems to be steve from his sig.;) and you shouldn't be altering the tapes AND trading them altered. if you want to alter them for your own use, go ahead. otherwise, contact craig and find see if he gives you permission to alter the tapes for trading. :)

Yes. sorry. oops. duh.. Thank, then, to real live taper.
I still think that Montreal 2001 (and probably others) make the case for trading in an augmented version. Definately encourage people to do what they like with sound in their own environment. I wouldn't presume to tell people what to do in their own living rooms, so that makes sense.
Definately not trade variations on originals unless they are clearly advertised as such. Probably the least controvercial way is for me to explain how I think you can get the best version of Montreal 2001 out of audacity.
Thanks tapers and posters too

was just listening to Willoughby's tape...i agree with the about about the moron who couldn't keep his cake hole shut during the dave & tim set. along with some other chick who decided to have a lenghthy convo during LIOG. what dolts. go back and read some reviews/comments about the 2/7/99 D&T show at Bucknell. you'll see how much they appreciate a quiet audience during these shows. thanks to the tapers, thanks to the real fans who know when to cheer and applaude and when to sit down and shut it.
