The guy is getting better every week, and now that they are taking off the reigns and letting him throw the ball, the offense is actually looking...dare I say it....explosive? I mean, yeah it was the Lions, so really there wasn't as much satisfaction in today's beatdown. BUT, Orton looked really good recently. His passes seem to be getting sharper, and he's making some good decisions out of the pocket. I'm getting just a little excited considering how bad the rest of our division is.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?! Ron Turner made Orton miss wide open people that would make us 5-0 right now? I put the teams leading rusher that game below each QB. So you can see that even though Ryan had just 161 yards. The running back had 220. It kind of alarms me Forte averaged 2.4 yards a carry. But it might just be the Lions decided to stop the run at all cost. But they forgot, if you do that. You force the QB to beat you with their arm.

I see no reason why Orton couldn't have a better game against the Lions next time we play them.

Based on a pair of practice squad moves Saturday, you can draw conclusions that the Bears are getting healthier.

Punter Zac Atterberry and wide receiver Mike Hass were released from the practice squad, creating two openings.

Atterberry took the place of Brad Maynard in practice this week but anything that was ailing Maynard must be fine as Atterberry flew home to Texas. Maynard was listed on the injury report on Friday as probable and the team did not disclose an injury, calling it "rest." Maynard's typical days to punt in practice are Wednesdays and Fridays. Maynard missed a game last season with a pulled groin muscle and has had hamstring issues in the past as well.

Hass departs two weeks are returning to the club, a sign that Brandon Lloyd may be able to return to the practice field some time this coming week. Lloyd will miss his second game at Atlanta as he has sprained the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. If the Bears want, they could rest Lloyd two more weeks by having him sit out next week against Minnesota because the club's bye week follows that division game.

Ya I wasn't ready to believe against the Lions or Falcons, but he's still doing what he's doing. Like I've been waiting for that game where Orton is just under pressure, and I want to see how he handles it.

But the opening drive today was just great. He literally looked like Peyton Manning, and that TD pass was lucky, amazing, or both. I don't know how it wasn't picked off, but damn did he muscle it in there. Not many other QB's could make that throw. Last year Orton couldn't even make that throw.

I don't think so. That is a ball that Orton has to make that throw early because it is a lob pass. Orton has to throw it to a spot, and it's Booker's responsibility to get to that spot. Booker should've been looking for where that ball was going to go much earlier. Was it a perfect pass? No. But Booker should've made that catch.
