matchless amplifiers

i was clicking around on dmbtabs.com and glanced at some of dave's equipment. i know a little bit about amplifiers, but i have never heard of matchless and just wondered if anyone had any information on them....are they made by a big name company, how long have they been around, wher do you find them, etc.

All know about them is that they are very pricey. Type in matchless on google and see what pops up.

Matchless amps are very expensive "boutique" type amps. Very very nice sound.
