I don't see how Boucher could possibly win the Vezina. His record is 6 wins- 3 losses and 5 ties.

Gonchar is a great d-man on a bad team. I'd say he's a top five d-man but with a -35 rating isn't going to help him. I'd have to give it to Pronger at this point in the season. Souray has been hot lately and he's could possibly win the Norris. Lidstrom isn't playing all that well this year. Well, he is playing well but Mathieu Schnieder is playing even better for the Wings (except his two game suspension he's now serving). Don't forget about Rob Blake who is just doing his job and being awesome.

Kovalchuck is playing out of his frickin' mind this year but if the regular season ended today I think the MVP would be Pavel Datsyuk. Hasn't been quite as hot in the past couple weeks but if he continues I think he deserves it.

yeah the refs were letting alot of shit go last night. but they also made one very very cheap call on holmstrom when he was shoved into aebischer. and what about when morris took a run at maltby after the whistle when all maltby was doing was standing there? that wasn't a penalty? that doesn't matter though, i'm fine with that not being called. their is certain stuff a ref can let go and certain stuff they can't let go. high sticking is a very serious play and penalty and that needs to be called every time it happens, no matter what time in the game it happens. the avs just made 2 very crucial mistakes at the end of the game and it came back to bite them in the ass. the good thing is that they play each other 4 more times this year.

playoffs in about 2 months! hell yes. mid season prediction - right now i'm stickin with the wings and the philly flyers to make it to the finals. but if colorado starts to heat up at all, they will overtake the west with relative ease. bastards. if philly can get solid goaltending, then they have the best shot. although the leafs and senators are going to make serious runs as well. go wings.

im ok with all the rule changes except the goalie rule behind the net. thats seriously changing the game, and i think theyre are better ways of improvment besides such drastic change. the goalie pads make sense, and moving the net back is ok, cause thats where it used to be.

the rules proposed at the gm meeting arent still have to be approved by the players association, and its very questionable, if not doubtful that many wont happen

I would've said that two years ago. Legace didn't play as well as he could've last year. This years isn't stellar either. He was outstanding when the Wings won the cup a couple years ago. But if he gets enough PT and gets comfortable he will be ok.

edit: I'm not saying that he performed poorly. He's been great but could be better.
