the problem with tweeter is the acoustics are bad, especially on the lawn. It's hard to hear and what you do hear is crackily like you're not actually at the concert. Plus they have all of those poles that block your view. This year I could only see half of the stage because one of those big ass poles was right in front of our seats. Lastly, the parking lot situation sucks major ass. I know, all venue parking lot situations suck ass, but Tinley sucks it harder.

I would still consider it...that is alot of walking on crutches..I had both my knees operated on and I can't imagine what it would be like to walk around the venue.

Hey, last year at the Gorge, when Maggie busted her ankle in the parking lot on our way into the first show, we didn’t get to walk over the hill and do that whole thing because we were wheeled down to the 6th row via the “Gimp Mobile”. So I'm new-ish to Nancies and it was the first board I have joined. You all seem to have great repore with each other and I was wondering if that is just because of time? I haven't really gotten to know anyone too well over there, but have joined into posts as if it was just ok to do so. Is there anything re: that which I should have known -- anything considered "taboo" for a newbie? Have most people actually met in person?

I realize that I could have asked these things at Nancies, but there's sometimes a tiny bit of hostility towards newbies, but I seem to think that I won't get that from you folks here. ?

I have enjoyed my stay at Nancies so far and am still hoping it returns soon!

I first started talking to her on the Alpine Hotel Party thread. Then I met a bunch more nancies at Camden last year (some of whom became extremely close friends of mine). Then it just rolls from there. I've found that even people who seem mean on nancies are really nice people in person. But there's no rules on what to do, and if there were you shouldn't follow them anyway. You're a taurus, a leader, you make your OWN rules baby!

Most of the people who seem to know each other well participate on the chat threads. If you want to meet people, that's the best way to go about it. A lot of the chat threads are pretty open. I post on Addicted at Work, and I know we love newbies. Find one that seems more your speed. I started posting there one day, and since then I have met most of the posters on the thread. I'm heading to Alpine this year to meet more. I don't know if you would travel to shows or not. The show gatherings are great and things progress from being internet friends to "real" friends. There are several posters that I talk to on the phone as often as my non-internet friends. I know that there are some cities that have a lot of Nancies, and those Nancies all get together all of the time. If there is a thread for your state, start there, or look for others that you'd fit into, like ours for people who have boring jobs! :)
