It reminds me of the piece of shit Neons kids drive around that have cheesy fins bolted on their trunks with chrome mufflers.

Just ugly and stupid. It's a guitar, not a Jackson Pollock painting.

I understand that they want to make their 1,000,000th guitar special, but I'm sure they could have done it in a more tasteful manner. I mean come on

like it or not you gotta appreaciate how much work and skill whoever made it put into it. Thats must have been the hardest guitar to make

i have to disagree it is a piece of art, since no one would ever have the balls to buy it and play it i think they are allowed to make it look however made up and artsy as they want to.

Art is different than making something ugly for the sake of something being ugly.

That's just my opinion, though.

It looks like a gawdy liberace guitar, to think they want 100 grand for it too.

that's uglier than their usual nasty super-high-end guitars. art or not, as guitars go, it's not aesthetically pleasing at all. on their seriously expensive guitars martin spends so much in energy and resources to make intricate patterns that don't mean anything. i'd much rather have a regular martin dreadnought with no markings on it. the thing is hideous.

^^ this one is almost as bad -- $100,000, yes really. look at the detailed view to see how bad it is.

i personally dont think it is that bad

i mean if they made it look like a normal guitar there would nothing special about it

the millionth is supposed to stand out and be special, and if you look at some of the other expensive ones they are pretty gaudy, so this one had a hell of a way to go to beat those

anyway, if dave played something like that you know all of you would jump all over it, just like you jump all over the martins and taylors he plays that are not always the best of the best for the price

i think the people jump on dave's martin and taylor guitars partly because they are his, but also because they sound great and are aesthetically pleasing. people would not jump on board for a guitar that likely costs well over $100,000 (obviously) and hideous is hideous. the fact is dave plays beautiful guitars like the DM3MD (check out the 3-piece back on that and the great headstock) and the 12-string W65 (that walnut top is so deep and beautiful). i thought that taylors were great guitars before i associated them with dave.

Jesus... all that abalone has got to kill tone...

I like the rosette, but I gotta say, Martin sure prides themselves on making a guitar that serves better purpose behind glass than in my lap.

i wanna see a video of them making that guitar, do you think they hire someone to do all the artistry, or do they use their regular guitar people?

the first one is hideous, i've seen that before as well. the OM one there is a little overdone but it's not tasteless. i wouldn't want it, but it looks like a playable guitar.

i saw both of those yesterday

its unfortunate

i dont think that a gaudy neck is all that big of a deal, like i like the one dave has with the vines, but i think it gets to be a little much when you decorate the body
