Shit...I don't even have the balls to even attempt the billies verse. I can play the nature intro though :)

i dunno, the tab looks so easy but i just can't make it work. Damn!:BANG yeah, the nature intro is sweet, its frustrating how the band never really plays it, ive only heard it from D&T.

I dunno if DMBtabs.com has the video up now......but I remember (or at least i think i do) the old dmbtabs.com website had a pretty good video of it. Its not that hard once u get the notes down....then u gotta tackle the rhythm.

i personally find the intro to the best of what's around a bit tougher. i'm pretty new to guitar, but i just gave it a good go for the TB verse and it works now. doesn't sound perfect all the time, but the fact that i'm a beginner and i can play along with dave easily or even play it in rhythm on my own is a small achievement for me.

what intro do you mean for BOWA? I'm pretty sure it goes straight into the verse. The verse in BOWA is much easier than the verse in Billies. IMO

sorry, the verse in BOWA. i realize that some might find it easier, but i don't. it's a timing issue and billies flows better for me. i realize that this view is rare.

in bowa or trippin billies? either way, anything seems easy once you've learned it.

For tripping billies, get the nature intro down, because you need the hand formation for the beg. and end of the verse. And the middle is tricky, because the timing is a little weird (i before e except after c unless it's a weird word) woah sorry. But just slide up from the 3 to the 5 on the A with your pointer finger and be ready to make the rest of the chord with your middle and ring, then reach over for the 8 on the e string with either your ring or your pinky, and hit the little 4/5 slide on the B string with your first finger. And then you'll be ready for the 5/7 slide. Hope this helps even just alittle. Also find a slower version of this song pref. without Tim so you can hear the whole verse. I forget which one I used sorry for no help there.

i'm pretty sure that i used dmbtabs.com's video, if they even have one... can't remember. unfortunately, the only way to get it down is practice practice practice. one day it'll just click. to elaborate on what was said above, you should be able to make the nature chord without even thinking, since the entire song is based on it. if you don't already play the chorus with the nature structure, then you should start doing that too. i used to have a lot of trouble, because i would play the chorus using the same hand formation up and down the chords, but once i started basing my playing around the nature chord, it all started to click. practice practice practice

I've mastered the Billies verse. Tip, if you don't like that stretch from 4/5 on G, you can also play it 9/10 on D. It's not how Dave plays it and if you're anal about learning the "official" way then just go for that crazy 4 on G to 8 on low E stretch. BOWA, I can play, but I have so many timing issues on that riff. Tough stuff.

Looks like you got it ... I found my biggest problem with playing the song was keeping my strumming hand moving properly. It took me forever to realize it sounds best strumming exactly like dave does (percussive momvements, hitting multiple muted strings at times when needed). Once I got that down, it was a breeze. I guess for me this can be generally applied to most DMB songs ... people often forget how important the strumming hand is :)
