Alright So, I've saved up 1000 dollars, planning on getting a new guitar but i can't decide what I want to get. Just curious what everyone has to say about any guitar they might consider buying in that price range. although I would like to buy a taylor or a martin, ultimately, they are not ALWAYS the best guitars for the money, just curious about others thoughts. Keep in mind I'm willing to spend a few dollars more if the guitar is worth it.
peace,

Really, I would try out a Taylor 214 and then install a Fishman matrix pick up in it- should total out to around a thousand or less.

I did exactly that for about $950 or so (with costs of installation) and it sounds amazing! Great purchase, although you might want to look into a volume pedal, which will most likely put you over $1000.
There are also some nice lower-end Martins you might want to look into. I have a DR (no pick-up) and it has a beautiful sound.

I'd save up and buy myself a Rickenbacker 325, jetglo of course. As for an acoustic, I'd go with an Alvarez. They're great guitars. They can take a beating as well. www.montemontgomery.com (the guitar is beat to hell and back, yet plays like a dream).

Aren't the 214's gonna have the Taylor ES in them starting in 04? Or is that just 300's and up?
