I am totally there with you Hani Hani, ther had better be fungus amoungus sometime very shortly after I get there. Oh and someone better make damn sure I find the tofu dude when I get there too. I got get chinese eyed for Dave and the boys.
And on a side note, went from lawn all 3 nights to:

So things are definately looking up for my first Gorge experience.
And my closest seats ever for Dave.

Hmmm - fungus - haven't done that in a few years - 2004 a good year to re-kindle old times??? :freak
Good God...No more fungus for this girl! Made some funky tea at Alpine, which was awesome until I totally tweaked out during Ants and thought the beer garden porch on which we were standing was going to collapse and kill us all. Now I have to skip through that track because it still causes my heartrate to skyrocket. It made for a nice review of the show, though:

Roughly 4 - 5 hours. At least that seems like what ot took the past 2 years for me. I'm going to arrive home from vacation Friday at about 10:30. Wife and I will switch luggage and essentials from the Tahoe to the Z and cruise out of Portland at about 11ish.
Can you recommend a route? We have to go to Moses Lake to check into the hotel first.

Hmmm...
I mapquested it and you could go this way:
I-84 East from Portland for about 3 hours (incredibly beautiful drive) to the I-82 interchange near Hermiston. Go West on I-82 to the Tri Cities (Kenniwick, Pasco, some other podunk town). From there, go north on 395 directly to Moses Lake. It may take over 5 hours. Anyone made that trip before who has anything to offer?

I figure if i'm to stop listening to DMB, it will happen naturally. Every now and then a few days will go by that I don't hear them, and it does make it kind of refreshing when I finally do. But i've never intentionally "shelved" them before. Let me know how that works out for ya! ;)

I know I know - and nothing wrong with Lawn - have you been? The only thing I really don't like about it is getting there early for a good spot - otherwise that's the best place to take in the view of the river - no doubt. Just once I'd like to sit up close though.

Ladies and gentlemen...... my ticket problems have been solved (however my financial loss has yet to be resolved) Please note my new signature!
Months ago I had in my hands TM tickets Friday C-11 Saturday B-19, I dont believe I will ever fully trust buying tickets from strangers ever again, and in the future I will never sell what I think to be 'extras' until I am holding the physical tickets from someone else.

Gates open approx 3 hours before the show, so 3pm, but really it depends on how late DMB wants to do its soundcheck, if they finish it at 4:00 than gates will probably open at 4.
Parking lot opens at 10am

I was there in '03, and I didn't notice ANY problems. It sounded perfect.
And I definitely prefer the lawn to the seats at the Gorge. You can see alot of the incredible background that you can't see from the seats, and you still have a good view of the band

haha - me too kimmy - when were you born?
Also - the lawn is fine - I think some of the speakers up above were blown in '02 so it did suck - but i'm sure they are a-ok now. Those speakers are house equipment - if it's windy - you'll rely on them - if not - not to worry - the DMB road crew will set you up just fine with their equipment........

I've done it all ways - started out buying styrofoam coolers (my good ones held the frosty cold adult beverages) and packing them with sandwich stuff and fresh fruit/veggies. Easy Cheez and Triscuits is always a Gorge staple for me. Brats are excellent on any grill space you can rent for 10 minutes...usually a cold beer will satisfy any grill owner for 20 square inches of grill space. It does me anyway. Chips, cookies are all fun to eat. But don't forget the water - you'll be needing it in the mornings - and needing it badly I assume! :evil :D :monkey

I'm new to the Gorge, this will be my first year, and I have just a few questions. If this is already another thread it would be nice if you pointed me there before you ripped on me for posting in the wrong place. With that said, I was wondering if the official Gorge campground is as bad as everyone has made it out to sound? Is it worth ditching a reservation and going to a different campground?
Thanks,
Ryan

NY to the Gorge?? Smoly Hokes!! Thta'll take about a week.
Anyway.... I was just posting to say see ya all later. My flight to LA leaves in less than 2 hours. I will then proceed to run up and down the West coast like a crazy man for the next week and a half, ending at the Gorge of course. I may not be able to post again, but everyone have a great time.
I will be the tall, balding, (slightly insulated) guy in the parking lot giving away a table full of shows. It could be the greatest weekend ever!!
Cheers

Posting under my girlfriend's name. T-minus count has begun. I feel like a kid a x-mas. At work till 2 and then I'm headed home to load the SUV with camping gear and bikes. We're driving up from LA, going to Umpqua River, then Hood River area (Timothy Lake), Portland, Seattle....3 days of mindblowing Gorge!!! It'll be the first time for both of us. Looking forward to Wildhorse and jamming with everyone. Hope everyone has a safe trip up and looking forward to tipping a few (among other things..) with you all. Cheers!
:thumbsup
Have a safe trip. See you there maybe. :)

The sad thing is that Coors Amphitheater has got to have the worst traffic problems I have ever seen for a venue. I live in San Diego and I chose not to go to the show here because last time I did it took about 2 hours to get there, and over 3 1/2 hours for me to get home. That's too much bullshit to deal with, even for Dave.

I don't remember traffic being that bad, but I haven't been there recently.
No venue I have been to sucks as bad as Nissan does in terms of traffic :BANG

I just got a room at the Super 8 in Moses Lake. They have been booked for months but someone cancelled. This now gives me an extra room for Friday and Sat. nights at the Best Value El Rancho Motel in Moses Lake. It is a nice room with a single Queen and is non smoking (you can just smoke outside the door). If anyone is interested in the room please let me know. The rate is $50 per night and I have it for Friday and Saturday.
Thanks

AAA says Moses Lake is about 50 minutes from the Gorge. Moses Lake is around 30 miles east of the Gorge down I-90. Maybe the band will stay at the Super 8 and I'll get to meet them, but with buses that nice why would they want to sleep somewhere else.

doubt they would stay at a super 8, maybe something a bit nicer, and they very rarely stay on the buses unless they are traveling over night. they normally shack up in a westin, four seasons, ritz. you know the big daddy hotels!
but i dont know much about the moses lake area, just know they prob wont stay in their buses 3 nights in a row, wouldnt suprise me if they didnt stay in seattle, with dave liven there and all, only 2.5hrs away, and hell they arent driving anyways...

Well - I have good news and bad news. The bad news is my wife just got in a semi-serious auto accident. She is "ok" but we're going to the emergency room here in a few as she is really tightening up - just make sure everything is properly documented so we don't get fucked down the road. The family truckster (Jeep) is badly damaged and won't be making the trek to the Gorge. But - of course this won't stop us - plus we're coming on Friday now to the Wildhorse! <------- that was the good news :D

Alright, its 1:21am my time, I just got home from a 3 hour wait at the 24hr clinic, I'm sick as hell but cant get to sleep sooo....... I figured I would post some things that would help you folks track me down and come by and sayhello.
I drive a black 4 door Chev Tracker with dark tinted windows..... heres a picture....
http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/users/412e3deez7809ae5e/89a4/__sr_/aa06.jpg?phDeDMBBQKfGHfSV

http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/users/412e3deez7809ae5e/89a4/__sr_/9d09.jpg?phRfDMBBmFHUNeEn
I will park with the ass end of my tracker pointing out so yall can find one of these....
http://www.pl8ster.net/AB/AB93_NMC786.jpg (thats not my actual plate, but rather just a pic of the alberta design)
My crew should be easy to spot.......
An old guy (36ish)
An asian guy (23)
A young Ausie girl (19)
and two white guys (23)
We should be arriving at Wildhorse sometime around 2:30 (ish) on Friday
I have an individual reservation, BUT there is a rather LARGE group of Warehouse campers that are all camping together, and thats the section where I will be at. Our group of reservations is supposed to be all given spots in the same area, so if it comes true there will be a Warehouse area of wildhorse, thats where I will most likely be at.
Our camp setup will be a large Red White and Blue tent and a small blue dome tent, although its suspected that two or three of us might just sleep out on the grass!!!
I most likely wont have walkietalkies so I wont be part of the radiowave conversations :( Come by and track me down though, I will have varous Canadian beers with me!!!!! including the new Molson cold shots..... more alcohol content in a much smaller can, very handy for those who are 'learning' to appreciate beer......like myself.
I have also decided that well........ I cant possibly go on this trip without taking my blender, so if you want a nice cold margarita in the middle of the day...... you have to come see me!!!!!

Happy saturday gorge goers,
I need all your help next Wensday night around 10 pm eastern time.
I'm flying back to the states from central Asia, Kyrgyzstan to be exact. If all goes according to plan I'll be back in the states late thursday night. in time to make it to night 2 and 3 !!. Here is how my trip works out. Fly from Bishkek Krygyzstan, to Turkey, then to Germany, stop in BWI for the night, fly to Ohare, then to Oklahoma City, pick up my girlfriend, early Saturday fly to Denver, then to Portland, pick up my brother, and make the drive to the gorge. My stomach gets all goofy thinking about it.
So good thoughts if you will that it all works out, last weeks plane left two days late.
That won't work for me, I need to make it back so I can propose at the GORGE!!!

I'm packing for my trip to the gorge today! My flight leaves tommorow morning for Seattle from Manchester NH. I've never been to the west coast so I'm really looking forward to the trip.
I made all my picks for the next four shows this morning, it's impossible to do them in advance like that but oh well. I hope I can find some place with internet access while I'm over there so I can check ants at least once.

what are the things that you always forget when camping that your making sure you bring with you this time?
maybe we can get a list of things going, obviously most of us need the camping things such as these,
tents
coolers
toiletries
food/snacks
but what are the other unobvious things we need. just wanna be prepared.
ive done the bonnaroo thing all 3 years, but that is a bit closer for me and i can drive there, from my house, so i dont have to worry with flying with most of these things...

Looks like its about 2.5 hours from Seattle to the Venue. IS that correct?

you would have to crotch cameras, i did it last year, no big deal
it is 2.5 hrs roughly to the gorge from seattle, and as far as hotels, there is moses lake, do a search for info on hotels, i guess.

Yeah, all the hotels nearby (like in Moses Lake) have been sold-out for months. (Besides us Gorge-goers, Labor Day weekend over there is very busy.)
I did a little bit of research for you, and found a hotel in Wenatchee that has rooms. It's the Holiday Inn Express. I found it on Orbitz. (Wenatchee is about ~40 miles north from the Gorge.)

Hopefully high seventies and low eighties will be hot enough for the ladies to be in minimal clothing. I'm guessing it will be. :thumbsup

Interesting. I just ordered one pair from the WH for each night, and none of my three pairs look like the one in that auction. (I always thought they just had one pattern per night.)
My Friday tickets look just like that as well - the red ones.
Anyway - I now have 3, count them three extra pair of reserved seats to sell for the Sunday show and a 3 day Gorge camping pass:
Sec. A, Row 39
Sec. B, Row 49
Sec. A, Row 47
Plus the 3-day Gorge camping pass
Email me for more information.......... webbah@comcast.net

Haha - that's right. Anyway - the extras are actually from the gal who sold me the Friday Row 10's - I told her I'd help her sell them via the honor system - she can't go due to money issues so hopefully I can sell them for her.

Don't worry Webbah, I have a bunch of tickets to get rid of too. This board is now flooded with ticket sellers. It will be fairly easy to off them at the Gorge, I've done it before. We'll make our money back, there are always some needy kids trolling the gates before the show.

I'm sorry about saying the other ebay auction was funny, but this next one really is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=16122&item=2265909965&rd=1
Tickets for next year?? And they list a date too. :lol (Although if it turns out to be true... :p)

Do you guys think the fans at the Gorge will be "the best of the best?" I sure as hell hope so. I was at the Gorge for the 01 and 02 shows, but skipped last year. It was great in 01, because not many fands were at the hotel we were at (with Leroi, Stephan, Boyd, Butch & the Ladies). Then in 02 there were alot more fans that came to that hotel for that reason. Oh well....
Subject change: Maybe I'm getting older, or the fans are getting younger, but this year at Alpine was just a wierd sight. We tailgated next to a group of kids that had to be from the ages of 16-18. They listened to rap the whole time and all had on polo shirt's with the f#$*ing collars up!!! I'm pretty sure those kids, and alot of other just like them just go for the atmosphere (party, and hit on girls). But that was at Alpine, and an easy drive for anyone in the midwest. So, back to my original question. Is the Gorge different? I mean, it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. I suppose some of "those" kids might live in Seattle, and make the 3 hour drive. But, I just think of the Gorge as sacred grounds. I'm sure it will be alot of great people flying in from around the country/world. That's what I'm hoping for anyways. Can't wait for this weekend. See you guys in a few days. Oh yeah, I'm from Minnesota btw.
