So where are everyone's seats (those who got WH tickets that is)?
Woodlands 1 - Right, Row C
Woodlands 2 - Left, Row Y
Not spectacular (depending how close to the aisle the Row C seat is), but definitely not bad.

Warehouse has just released seat locations.
Please post on the DMB Texas message board where you will be sitting each of the Texas shows. I am going to try to compile (and organize) a list with where everyone will be sitting.
Thanks,

Well I didn't go. My friends who did thought it was fun but they already knew a lot of the stuff that they teach you. One of my other friends was kicked out because she, well, slept with one of the camp leaders. But I would defintely skip Fish Camp and go to Dave Matthews Band. I'll teach you the yells at The Woodlands.

yeah, same here. I like my school but that doesn't mean I'm one those guys that ruins a good sporting event by constantly yelling at the other team. Let's face it, sporting events wouldn't be as much fun without a little rivalry.

I'm a fifth year now, but these are from a sixth year I traded requests with. The seats that my fifth year account got were ORCH. 1, ROW H, which my cousin and her boyfriend will be using, still pretty fucking good!
My fifth year account only got LEFT, ROW T @ night 1 for woodlands, and declined for night 2.

Not bad at all. You'll be outside of the covered area, but you'll only be one row back. The uncovered reserved area is obvioulsy above the covered sections. Should be good seats.

HOTEL REVIEW:
i stayed at the Woodlands Marriott Waterway that you guys have been discussing~ VERY NICE
HIGHLY RECOMMEND that ya'll try to snag a room here. the a/c skytunnel goes DIRECTLY from the hotel to the pavillion's own private entrance area. That alone is worth alot to not have to fight parking.... there will be none this year at the mall anyway.
The woodlands (people) are trying to make this area resemble San Anonio's Riverwalk. It is still under construction right now but they are getting close and should be done by August.
anyway~ very very very nice hotel- i just booked a room last week, so i know there are some available.. most of the bands from buzzfest stayed there also. :D

I was in KK last year. As long as you don't have a giant in front of you, you have a unobstructed view to the stage. I was trying to score row JJ from ticketmaster, but had no luck. The seats aren't bad at all.

they still have rooms at the marriott, but they are $109 now, but i booked it anyway. i have been staying at the courtyard by marriott, which is nice but i think those rooms are like $90 or $99 and you have to drive a small way, less than a mile and park in the mall. but it sounds like maybe the mall parking is going to be a thing of the past............

i guess you'll just have to see it when you get there. they have changed that area so much since last year (around the mall/commons area) they keep the lots full with customers ALL the time. after hours, they will know who's at the concert... the woodlands turns off the lights and locks all the doors at 9PM sharp 7 days a week

For those of you trying to book a room at the Waterway... I booked my room for the Marriott Waterway via Priceline.com. Had to pay $75/night but that's less than most, even with the fees they charge. It's the only 3 star in the woodlands area so it's the only hotel you can get through priceline.com. You just have to keep adding free rebid zones to get the waterway. If you don't know what this means email me or just ask and I'll explain.
Anyone going to the Spurs vs. Lakers games? I was able to get a pair for both of the next 2 home games at SBC so I'm pumped. GO SPURS GO!

Hello all. Since today is May 04, I figured that I'd offer up a DVD B&P for the 5/4 show at The Woodlands two years ago. Great set, DVD's a little choppy at some points but pretty good overall. Some of the highlights include the Rapunzel crazy-Dave-dance, LIOG closer, BEF -> Bartender. Here's the DVD's page on DVD Central.

Nice offer. Someone was supposed to be converting 5.12.01 into DVD as well, but I haven't heard anything on that one in a while. I have the VHS and have had my fingers crossed for the DVD. The 5.4 is OK, but it seemed like the person taping kept forgetting they were holding a camera. :)

Well, I tried every search, including your suggestions. No luck, so I emailed eric. Where is Magnolia? I'm about 30 miles north of San Antonio (I know there's a spring branch in the houston area too...but not this one) LOL! Thanks for the help.

Here's what's up with the CafePress shop:
Steve alerted me about the problem about a week ago. I emailed the people at CafePress.com, they said that it only takes them one business day to respond to a problem, well that's a bold face lie. When I log in to edit the shop, all of the items are there but there listed as "Pending." According to them, pending means if there are no images placed on the shirt or whatever. But I've already sold over $400 worth of stuff (I'd say $100 to $150 is Beth :lol) so it's impossible for it to be pending. I've sent three emails to them and they've yet to respond. I'm thinking that there must have been a problem with the Firedancer images or the use of "Dave Matthews Band" on the shirts. But there are tons of DMB related stores on there so I don't know why there's a problem with mine, especially since there's no profit whatsoever being made.
If anything, I'll just make another store and tell you all so that you can get your orders in quick. Keep checking the store in the meantime.

hey eric. I'm going to be missing Fish Camp to go to the Houston shows. You think it's worth it?
quick note about fish camp; i went to a&m in 99/00 and i went to fish camp. it was one of the best decisons ive ever made. i still talk to people i met at fish camp. that's a tough one, though- dmb, or fish camp. maybe you could try and get your session changed. i doubt it, though cause they're pretty serious about not changing your session. who knows?

It's a toss up as to whether someone will have fun at Fish Camp or not, I mean some friends of mine loved that they went and others thought it was incredibly dull. It also could be because my friends and I lived in College Station prior to college so we had been immersed in "the spirit of Aggieland" while we were in high school. I'd definitely choose DMB over Fish Camp, though.

All I want to say is that when it comes to texas, El Paso always gets the shit end of the stick.( is that even an expression). Sorry I'm just furious because I have family there and from what I hear El Paso is just not even considered Texas. It's just all out west by itself and DMB will probably never go there. I just mentioned this because i saw El Paso mentioned in an earlier post. Anyways, El Paso isn't THAT bad. It's getting better from what I hear, but driving from pretty much anywhere in TX to El Paso is a pain in the ass. I-10 IS too long.
eric_dmbfan03
06-13-2004, 06:45 AM
I'm from El Paso. It's a great city most of the time. I really do love it and I love to visit it and do the touristy stuff, but the reason that DMB never goes there is because there is no place that they could play. The Don Haskins Center is incredibly too small, the place where they do Viva! El Paso is too small, Biggs Field is too small, and the city counsel is too dumb. Here's a story about El Paso: When Sea World was looking to expand to other places other than Florida, the very first place they looked into building was El Paso. They talked with them for years trying to get a deal. Sea World finally proposed that if they came to El Paso, they would not pay taxes for ten years. El Paso, being the dumb asses, said no thank you. So Sea World went to San Antonio and they agreed and the rest is history. Ten years have obviously passed and SA has the Spurs, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Sea World, the River Walk has expanded since Sea World was built, and the city is just a great Texas town. So El Paso could have been San Antonio, but they denied Sea World. I still think the town is great though, an incredible amount of history is there in west Texas. I consider myself lucky to have grown up there.

I think it is hilarious that El Paso is getting some mention here. The city is all right there is just nothing to do here. El Paso is the largest city in America without a major sports franchise (MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL). The local politicians here have no foresight whatsoever. They have been discussing an amphitheater for as long as I can remember (and we are still waiting).
An outdoor venue in El Paso would be perfect. Not only is there nothing between East Texas (Dallas, Houston, San Antonio) and Phoenix/Albuquerque, El Paso has beautiful weather year round. It hardly rains and once the sun goes down in the summer the temperature is perfect for a concert. Anyone agree/disagree?

06-13-2004, 03:42 PM
Austin is the largest city without a major sports franchise.
All El Paso would have to do is expand McKelligan Canyon to seat more people. Right now I think it holds around 6,000 people. Expand that in the Franklin Mountains and it would be a beautiful place for a concert.
MookieBlaylock
06-13-2004, 03:53 PM
I agree, expanding McKelligan Canyon would be a great idea. Unfortunatly it probably wont happen (its probably too good of an idea).
Damn, Austin is bigger than El Paso now. I saw a little note in SI a few years ago that had that statistic. Thanks for the info.

06-13-2004, 05:20 PM
No prob. It was funny when I saw The Day After Tomorrow, El Paso is in it and they showed some of the local news anchors. I yelled out in the theater, "Holy crap that's Suzanne Michaels!" :lol That silly town.

Yes. But not by much. People are posting their order numbers and I have yet to see anything lower than 800285 is the lowest I've seen posted but there's no guarantee that they even started at 800000. Guess we'll see once seat locations are up.

seems to me that i remember the security letting everyone get away with everything in selma last year..
i have concealed my share of cameras into the pavillion (woodlands)- sometimes they are strict/ sometimes they aren't... just be careful..helpful tip~ stand by a professional photographer and sneakily snap your pics at the same time.. when peeps see the flashes, they have no idea it came from you~

Just thought I should point out that you have the 5-5-02 show listed as 5-5-04, that should probably be fixed.
Also, I'll be hitting all 3 TX shows and It'll be about damn time, it sucks down here not getting any winter shows. We get board throughout the year, hearing what a good time all you northerners have, at least I do. Oh well, I guess thats the price we pay for livin in the greatest state in the nation.
Just wish we had better taste in music down here. Instead we breed people like Jessica Simpson and Toby Keith . . . ugh.
By the way is anyone else glad the decided to skip Dallas and add another date to Houston?? Dallas crowds suck ass and Houston shows kick ass. Selma is a happy medium that always has a good DMB show, only the crowd could use a little work.
See you all there. It cant come quick enough.

okay guys.. sorry i haven't been on this thread much !

i finally figured out how to d/l shows.. (hey i'm a newbie to this high-tech stuff  ).. anyway my post show jitters are subsiding finally and i'm starting to get pumped about the tx shows now that they are finally getting closer !
when and where is the coverband playing? my stepdad told me about them a while back and i'd be interested in catching one of their shows.
eric, i used the artwork you sent me as a cd cover for my 'fantasy show' that i made for all my fellow vancrew members. they loved it.
yes, i noticed the extra show, but i wasn't complaining.. heeheehee
so, which one of you guys is gonna make us a countdown clock for the tx shows?
and- i wore ONE of my texas tour shirts to all my shows in canada and new york ~ VERY COOL ! i had the guys add the shows i attended on the back with a sharpie (good thing i bought plenty of shirts.) but still a really cool collectors item for me!!!

Eric - Will you be seeing the cover band Saturday in College Station too? Maybe I'll see you there.
Yeah, I was there. It seemed like the entire city was there. Definitely the most people I've ever seen for a Starlight Music Series. Looked liked the crowd was just slightly smaller than when Pat Green was there a few years ago. I picked up David Koon's CD after the show. Definitely worth a listen.
Just thought I should point out that you have the 5-5-02 show listed as 5-5-04, that should probably be fixed.

texasdmblvr
07-11-2004, 06:58 PM
eric- i'm still waiting on exactly what i want to hit me upside the head - then its a done deal ~ one of the girls that was in the van crew with me in NY and Canada had a tattoo on her foot and i thought that was really cool. when i first started thinking about one i intended on having dave sign my foot (when i met him) and having that made into a tattoo. i've learned since then how they do it, so that won't be necessary, and when i did actually meet him last year, i didn't think it was appropriate to stick my foot in his face and say, hey man, sign here....
but i definetly like the whole foot idea..
i just can't decide exactly what to put... i love the texas you made me with the firedancer, but i can't put all those dates in there.. can you imagine 5 years from now? my foot will be covered.. EEK
i'll think of something soon ~ i'm ready !
i'm ready for august to hurry up and get here TOO !

Instant Ticketing is usually just lawn tickets. Sometimes you'll get lucky and get a pretty good reserved seat but it's a stretch. It's for people who realize they're gonna be in that city long after the request period has ended. Last year, I realized I'd be in El Paso when DMB was in Phoenix, a mere 6 hour drive. So I hopped on Instant Ticketing and got a lawn ticket.
