i'm not sure what i was thinking... obviously wasn't- but we're staying downtown thursday and friday therefore we HAVE to deal with the parking crap on friday night..grrrrrrrrrrr.
the walk from any of the lots is a hike, but you've got no choice, just make sure you have comfy shoes and plenty of time :D

the bartender this year was very well performed, but it wasn't as long and jammed out as the one from last year (if memory serves me correctly). i haven't listed to this year's version again, but the '03 version went close to 16 minutes. alot of people bitch about bartender getting so long, but i love what they have done with it at the end with butch and carter trading licks for a few minutes.

Texas Tech, Texas, and Texas A&M is in one big triangle of "rivalry." Tech says A&M is their big rival, A&M says Texas is their big rival, and Texas says OU is their big rival. Well I guess that's not really a triangle, more of a square, but OU's not in Texas so I'll stay with triangle. As far as I can tell, A&M will always have Texas as their big rival. There's way too much tradition in this school that goes back to Texas and that's not ever going to change. As for Texas, I'm sure at one point A&M was their big rival, but as Texas football became a prominent program and as A&M began to fall off the charts (which is still happening), they looked to OU and the Red River Shootout. As for Tech, well I don't really know much about them other than that they're in Lubbock. On a side note, Texas will never ever beat OU as long as Mack Brown is coaching.

How's this 8-20 DVD compared to like the Dave solo Benaroya Hall DVD or the Dave and Tim 5-5-03 DVD? I'm usually not into full band DVDs because of the quality. They are freaking incredible for fan made projects, but if I'm in the mood, I've always preferred one of the official releases. That said, I do have the following, and I might be conned into hookin people up. I say "might" because work's been killer lately, and I'd hate to have any of you put a hit out on me because I forgot about you, took too long, lost blanks, accidentally burned porn instead... Okay, maybe the last one wouldn't be so bad, but you get my point.

I googled for animated gifs and just found one that was less than 50 x 50. So, I guess there are two possibilities:

1) You can't upload from your machine. It has to be from some web server.

or, more likely

2) The .gif you're using has too many frames, thus it's too big.

Try something smaller. Remember if a gif has 11 frames, that essentially means 11 gifs. Also, gifs are larger the more colors they have. So, you have three things to think about: image size (in pixels), number of colors, and number of frames.

Oh, I don't know that I'm an expert. I found an animated gif editor on sourceforge.net, and deleting the frames was cake. I just deleted every other one and it got the file size down to around 3.7 K. 3.9 is the limit.

Back from ACL, I had a great time, but compared to last year, this year was nothing. Anyone who was there last year knows what i'm talking about.

This year, there were way to many people, you couldnt enjoy anything unless you stayed put all damn day, and thats no fun. In order to get to another stage you had to leave 30 minutes early to get through the crowd, then to get back into the crowd to get a good spot. I'm not expecting an awesome spot up front, but if you were too far back you could barely even hear the music. Anyone at the Cake concert over on stage left?? Once you got to where the beach was, you couldn't hear a damn thing. I liked it so much better last year when there was much less people, and louder music. Jack Johnson's gotta go, he brings in all these little teeeny boppers that make the festival that much more worse. I think I missed about 40% of the music I wanted to hear because I was stuck in a crowd of chairs (damn chairs, leave em at home) that I couldn't get out of.

I'm a little bummed about how it all went this year, but oh well. I've come to the conclusion that unless next year's line up is stellar (has to be much better than this years), I'm not going to attend next year.

On the other hand, I did get a little bit of video footage (thanks to my parents coming home early and giving me the camera). The shows I could get close enough to actually see, I got footage of. The other shows that I was so far away I could barely hear . . . well, lets just say it was impossible to get video of them.

If Howie Day & Trey hadn't been there, I would have called this entire weekend a waste.

I'll post more later, I have to go to work after a looong weekend off . . :(

Sorry I never gave you a call, my phone was dead the entire time. I couldn't get a signal from anywhere.

Back from ACL, I had a great time, but compared to last year, this year was nothing. Anyone who was there last year knows what i'm talking about.

This year, there were way to many people, you couldnt enjoy anything unless you stayed put all damn day, and thats no fun. In order to get to another stage you had to leave 30 minutes early to get through the crowd, then to get back into the crowd to get a good spot. I'm not expecting an awesome spot up front, but if you were too far back you could barely even hear the music. Anyone at the Cake concert over on stage left?? Once you got to where the beach was, you couldn't hear a damn thing. I liked it so much better last year when there was much less people, and louder music. Jack Johnson's gotta go, he brings in all these little teeeny boppers that make the festival that much more worse. I think I missed about 40% of the music I wanted to hear because I was stuck in a crowd of chairs (damn chairs, leave em at home) that I couldn't get out of.

I'm a little bummed about how it all went this year, but oh well. I've come to the conclusion that unless next year's line up is stellar (has to be much better than this years), I'm not going to attend next year.

I agree, while this year was pretty damn cool, it just didn't top last year's. I've always thought that those folded chairs are ridiculous. People go to a certain stage and throw a huge blanket down, surround it with chairs and then call it theirs. Then they get pissed when you walk through "their" area. I know that ACL will probably never prohibit them but they should at least be prohibited between the soundboard and the stage. I think that would cut down on a lot of the traffic. I kept leaving about 15 minutes early to catch another artist's set. It ended up working out. I checked out Pat Green from the beach area and by the time his set was over, holy crap, there were so many people around me for Cake. I tried to get a picture but was out of film. Cake's crowd was way too big for Bank Of America. As for Jack, I enjoyed his set but it was pretty much the exact same as last year. Nothing too exciting. The Roots and The Wailers were the best two acts I saw. Medeski, Martin and Wood and the Earl Harvin Trio were pretty cool. I had never heard of either so I'll probably start listening to their stuff.
