I camped there last year, and it was so worth it, we just walked over from the campsite and when the show was done walked back and partied...to bad this year it's the middle of the week :(

On the website for Darien you have to book a minimum of two nights for a campsite and they are pretty pricey.

I'm almost in the exact same situation...I got 302 row 6 from the WH and 203 row 7 from TM...I'm gonna take the 203's because it's closer, and just go and sell the 302's...if your off to the side a bit, it's not terrible :)

i should be heading back to st. catharines after the show...i have an extra bedroom in my place and a pretty big living room. don't wanna say it's a for sure thing, but if people needed a place to stay i can always house some people for the night.

FOr the last 2 years I have headed back to Canada. One year to Niagria Falls for the night and last year we drove all the way home. However, this year I just am not up for the 3 hour wait in the parking lot and a 3 hour drive home! We aren't going to book a hotel but if we need to we will find a place in Niagra Falls USA. I wanna go shopping the next day!

it is about 45 mins, and it's Niagara Falls dude, you can get hotels from $1,000 a night or hotels for $30 a night. this place has everything! nice and shitty hotels.

just a hint...for Niagara Falls, go to Priceline.com...I've gotten really nice hotels on there before for about $25 (US) for a night...granted it's on the Canadian side, but still, it was really close to the falls, etc...it's not tooooo far of a drive from Darien...there is the hotel on Darien property and other motorhomes you can rent besides the campsite...they are kinda pricey though.

Work on Friday is a problem for me, Sean can't really afford it, and 2 shows in 10 days will be enough, minimizing repeats I would imagine. We also get the better of the 2 SPAC shows generally speaking. And we only inconvienice the family we're staying with for 1 night not 2.

Next year, when SPAC is announced normally, we'll do both nights SPAC and skip Darien. But for this year, I'm happy:)

the lawn does slope, but not enough! i'm 6'4, was right up close to the bar between seating and lawn and had troubles at times seeing last year. how bad is that? short people don't see anything. toronto's slope is much better.

I dont understand why Darien Lake doesnt shut that dump down for a summer and remodel the place. They have the money and the space to make it a nice venue. instead, it is a shit hole.

I wouldn't care about the park, but they could at least remodel the concert pavillion. The bathrooms suck, the beer selection blows (more of a sponsorship thing there, I'll bet) and getting out of the parking is a nightmare after the show.

We're going, and there are a bunch of others also going. Planning on parking up near the park lot and then walking back to tailgate. Way smoother last year. And, I'd rather carry a cooler a quarter mile than fight getting out of there again.

well there's the "park" lot and then theres the ampitheatre/tailgating lot...i think you just need to get in one of the left hand lanes when you go in...thats all we did

last year i found the best spots were right up against the rail and about 4 or 5 "rows" deep into the lawn. there aren't rows, but if you have about 4 or 5 people in front of you should have a better view. i found that the first 4 or 5 "rows" are very very flat and the slant of the hill doesn't start right away. if you get there early enough and make a mad dash you'll be fine. make sure you don't have a pole anywhere near your view either. those poles there are massive and a real pain in the ass if you can't see.
