Hey, I've been meaning to PM you, Mr. Source Whore. I've got a really bad 7.5.03. Who's tape do you like for it?
I think Jon Ice's is the one to go with....my list is taking forever to show up (damn etree.org....at least it's free  )
edit: Jon Ice's is the only one I have on my list so I guess it must be that one :p

I haven't got it yet. I've been switching off the last few days between 6.20 and 6.21. Maybe I'll grab 6.23 next, if there is a compelling reason?
Of course, I'm actually listening to 3.10.94 right now. :lol

I always tailgate and grill with no problems. The problem there is cell phone service once you pull in the lot is non-existant.
night 1 ...sec B row 23
night 2 ...sec A row 26
night 3 ...sec C row 15

You really can't go wrong in section B, you will be able to see fine. The sound booth is directly behind row 40, so you don't have to worry about that being in the way. Just watch out for the crazy chair folder-upper kids.

Hey Crumbo, after we chatted last night, I got into the box where I keep all of my 80s tapes, and dug out The Great Radio Controversy and Mechanical Resonance. Hey everybody! I came in here about a week ago, and it's confirmed that I'm coming to Alpine on 8/7. I won't be staying for the second night :-( but this will be a good introduction to me for next year's big two night stand.
Question - I already got two instant tickets for this show from the Warehouse, on the lawn, but i need just ONE more lawn ticket. How should I go about getting the one ticket? I've looked all around Ticket Exchange, too.

I heard that from a guy I work with. I was surprised the place was not full, about 80% full.
The set rocked with quite a bit of old school songs which I liked. The new song sounded sweet live. It rained a bit and it was a chilly CO night, but they definitely like playing here. Sound was superb...it's Red Rocks :D

No, the rumor is not true. We are however looking at possible naming rights from other sponsors. Whatever the name happens to become, Alpine Valley will most likely be in the new title. Brian's Amphitheatre at Alpine Valley or something like that. Stay tuned.

Dude, I looked all over for you this weekend at Phish, but was unsuccessful at actually finding you. :( I did see a Yellow ATV with #2 on it but no #3.
So I definitely saw one kid in the around-the-waist-shacke handcuffs. Sucks to be him. How many people got arrested - or is that top-secret info? ;)

Hi:
Believe me, I was there. My hours were as follows:
Thursday: 1pm-6pm
Friday: 7am-Midnight
Saturday: Midnight-4am...9am-Midnight
Sunday: Midnight-6am
So I got to see the sunrise going home on Sunday morning. I was on ATV #3 complete with red lights and siren, so if you saw someone zipping by, that was me.
Actually, there weren't that many arrests of evictions from the theatre. There were the normal medical incidents and of course the nice drug-induced encounters (such as the man who was tripping on acid and thought he was God), but other than that and some attempted fence jumpers, it was a pretty normal show. Sorry we couldn't meet each other.

Wow...that's a lotta work. Glad you made it through unscathed. Someone was tripping on acid? No way! Not at a Phish show! ;) I myself don't touch that stuff but it's sure fun watching other people who do...probably gives you guys something to laugh about later. (You know the Walworth County Sheriff must throw one raging party with all the stuff they confiscate!)
I noticed that despite the huge "NO ANIMALS" signs everywhere there were still a ton of dogs running around the lot, including an actual Timberwolf. I don't mind them (you should've seen how many were running around our friends' farm!) but was kinda wondering how people get them in. (Don't worry - I'm not thinking about bringing mine, I'm just curious.)
Loved all the new signage, by the way. Big. Bright. Well done.
One question - what's up with the bumpy lawn? I figured that since it was the first show of the summer that the lawn would be all nice and smooth and divot-free. Instead I twisted the crap out of my ankle. :( They don't fill in that stuff during the off-season? Makes it hard to dance (which is hard enough what with that incline!).
I'm sure we'll get to meet at DMB since you'll know to swing into the Premier lot where all the cool kids are parking.

Hi:
The Premier/VIP lot uses its own road for exit. The key is to get on the road as soon as possible. If you are in Premier/VIP go the aisle and head toward the theatre gates (Gate #1) and then turn left down Pond Rd. You will have the road to yourself (along with the people walking to Green lot, but not any traffic). We can allow Green lot vehicles to exit onto this road, but they are on the road for only about the last 250 feet of it before you go onto the Resort Rd. to exit onto Highway D. Later in the evening as traffic calms down from VIP/Premier, we will begin to use Pond Rd. for other traffic as well.

Brian

Hi:
I will try to make a swing through Premier. Glad you liked the signage as well. The lawn was pretty clam and divot free, but the theatre like most of SE Wisconsin received over 15 inches of rain in the past month which is a ton more than normal and that causes things to settle a bit more than we had hoped.

Brian

Yeah. Back from a nice 4-day weekend and it blows. Too much stuff on my desk and I got the wonderful stack of crap in my chair to greet me when I got in.
haha don't you just love the pile in the chair? it's like the icing on the cake, just because your desk runs out of space :lol
I had something like that this morning when I came in, every inch of desk space in my cube was covered with stuff for me from the nighttime people...and everything they did was wrong. stupid butts.

Yup. Us paralegals know that the only way to be absolutely sure an attorney sees something is to put it where he wants to plant his ass. Otherwise it may sit in his box or on his desk indefinitely....

Getting pretty psyched for Independence Day because I just love fireworks. Wouldn't it be cool if at the end of the Alpine shows they set off a bunch of huge ones from behind the pavillion? Anyway, enjoy....

If anyone is still looking for a place to stay for the Alpine shows I've got one. I have reserved a bed & breakfast for 3 nights and now, because my fiance is pregeant, will not be going to East Troy. I have reserved all 3 rooms in this place and the total cost is $600 for the weekend (Fri nignt, Sat night, Sun night). I feel I should help this business find some occupancy since I dumped them on short notice.
If anyone is interested, call me 989-295-2199
Oh yeah, it is about 2 miles from Alpine Valley.
Thanks,
Jeff

Funny you mention that. I was at the John Mayer taping on Tuesday for that PBS show and Mayer was acting all cool (for him at least) and he mentioned that he was thinking of doing an Elvis Costello song but didn't want to b/c he didn't know it well enough. People started saying "aww" when all of a sudden I decide to scream "YOU CAN DO IT!!!" in the Schnider voice and the place erupts with laughter. Mayer goes "Hey, inside voices!" I think that portion will end up on the cutting room floor but it was pretty funny. I was scolded by John Mayer. :D

I have a recommendation: have a tape for your dictaphone that's solely devoted to your hours. That way when you get off the phone, finish a letter, get off WestLaw, whatever, all you have to do is dictate the file name and the hours. That way your secretary or paralegal can just transcribe it and you don't have to worry about all the recreating stuff.
Or you can work for the little people like me on a contingency fee and then you'll never have to record your hours!

Not a bad recommendation. I do a mixture of billable and non-billable stuff that it's hard to keep track. I just search our network drive for all the files that were modified in the month and that gives me an idea of what stuff I created (docs) and then I look at the calendar for court hours.

That's better than what my boss does. It is just the 3 of us here - him, his wife (the other assistant) and me. Everytime he does something billable, he barks it out "Melissa! ____ minutes to (client's name)!" It makes me jump nearly every time because it scares me out of my Ants browsing. :lol
