Oy, I don't know...what do you recommend? Or you can just surprise me. :D

Tonight Eddie is coming over and we are officially typing "my list." I've set up a nice little table in Word (I'm the queen of that) and he's going to read the discs to me so I can type them in and then I'll be able to sort it by date and then put them all into my nice, new Case Logic in order. :)

By the way...
:lol :thumbsup
Blah blah blah. Worse than me and Jamon. :D

all parking lots were clear within 2 hours of the end of the show with about 2/3 of all lots clear within 1 hour of the end of the show.
And the Premier Parking lot?

Speaking of blah blah blah....

Tomorrow I'm making my first visit to the Court of Appeals to hear my boss do oral arguments (he he) on an appeal of a post-trial motion that basically overturned a $2million verdict of ours.

Probably gone in about 30 minutes. That is about right. Some took up to an hour, but they were enjoying a few beverages before leaving. Those that got to their cars promptly, packed up and left were out pretty quickly.

So my boyfriend's got two of these radio thingys...but he said he'll only let me take one becuase the other has some fancy schmancy GPS system on it and he's afraid I'll loose it (which is highly possible so I don't really blame him).

Is there any point in me having only 1 for Alpine or should I go out and buy a second one to bring?

Are we gonna pick this frequency or whatever before we all hit the road?

(You can tell how comfortable I am with all this technological mumbo jumbo!)

As we get closer to Alpine, anyone that has been there can tell you that cell phone communication is pretty much non-existant. There are 35,000 phones in less than 2 square miles fighting for a fixed amount of lines. We always use FRS or GMRS radios. FRS are cheap, have a 2-3 mile range and there are 15 channels with 38 privacy codes. You do not need an FCC license to operate them. There are several people in this thread already that will be using them in the lots this year, and they can come in handy inside the show as well. For this year's shows we'll be picking a frequency and code along with a backup in case that set is in use.

Here's a good link to some basic info:
http://people.mags.net/boem/FRS.htm

If you have any other questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

Last year ny gorge tickets were in a different series from my alpine/deer creek tickets, and they came at different times. So I would guess they would be shipped seperate, but who knows, its the warehouse

The lawn is pretty big......depends on what you would define as a good spot.....the parking lot opens at 1pm and the gates open at 4pm....the earlier the better:)

Best chance to hit the yellow lot is to be in the far right lane as you turn east on the highway directly outside the venue. And get there early. Maybe we should try to go blue instead on yellow so we can be closer to our Premier friends? Ore we can say "screw 'em."

Glad my map is doing some good.

someone has that pic in their sig, ill take a look

Here's what I posted on Nancies for everyone. You don't have much time, but spread the word to everyone you want:

Well folks, the time has come. The 2004 Bong State t-shirts are ready to be ordered.

This year's design is a step up from last year's green and white design. This year's will be a baby blue shirt, and the design will be yellow with a white trim. I've got a picture here in my Yahoo photo album of the front design (http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/thenameisike/detail?.dir=/679e&.dnm=2bfa.jpg). I'm having a couple changes made to this design (I'm a perfectionist with this stuff), but it'll look pretty much just like what's pictured. The design on the back will be small and simple, much like last year's. (a star with the band name, the venue name, and the dates) The quality of these shirts is top-of-the-line too, so no worries about that.

Here's how I need you to take care of this. If you're staying at my group site F, just email me directly. The rest of you who are staying at the other sites, I only want ONE email from each of your sites. I can't handle getting a different order from each individual person. Maybe whoever's name the site is in, that should be the one who emails me. Send the email to ijwhiting@hotmail.com. What do you need to email me, you ask? ALL of the following:

- The names of each person camping
- The size each person needs
- Which site you'll be camping on

Whatever size you order is the size you're going to get. Just know that I cannot be making exchanges once the order has been placed. If you get stuck with an XL and you think you'd fit better in a L, it's up to you to exchange with someone else. Plainly put, once the order has been placed, the order has been placed. I also cannot afford to order any extras, so coordinate with your fellow campers NOW and get this taken care of. YOU HAVE UNTIL NOON CDT THIS FRIDAY JULY 16TH TO EMAIL ME YOUR COMPLETED ORDER. I'm calling the order in that afternoon, so if you can't get it to me by then I'm not going to hunt you down.

The cost of the shirt this year is a whopping $12. Because I'm in no way a rich man, I'm requiring that you pay me right away. You can paypal me the money at ijwhiting@hotmail.com, or you can mail me a check. (email me for my address) I'd like to ask that whomever is emailing me the order be the one who sends the money for the entire group. I'm risking too much to have each and every person send me a check for $12. If you've got 6 people in your group, I expect one payment for a total of $72. Just cover that and have your 5 friends owe you back. I can't possibly keep track of all of that. So help me out by bundling your order with a handful of others, especially those of you at group sites E and F. The bigger the order, the better.

Again, you only have until THIS FRIDAY THE 16TH to gather your sizes and send me your order. Pay me by the end of next week, and I'll be your best friend. Send payments via PayPal or by cash/check in the mail. You can reach me at ijwhiting@hotmail.com.

Hopefully I covered everything. If not, you know how to get a hold of me.

Happy t-shirting!

ike.

I am going early to the lot as I have been waiting to get back to Alpine since 2002. I think we should stay the Yellow lot course because it is the craziest and most fun IMO. I plan on walking over to Premier and hanging for a couple hours with the high and mighty ;) I mean we are going to arrive 6 or 7 hours before DMB takes the stage, we will have plenty of time to kill. Plus we will all be able to communicate via radio.

And when do we get our shirts delivered?

A friend had adobe illustrator 10.0, so the design was finished with plenty of time to spare. Artwork went to the printers last friday(8th). They said 14 days maximum for actual production. Factoring in UPS ground shipping times, everybody should have theirm shirts by July 30th at the absolute latest. Except those meeting up with me in the lots.

I don't remmeber this part very well(even though I've been to alpine 7 times) but I think you could set up a rally point on honey creek road or swoboda rd. these are two roads just south of I-43 off highway 120(which is the alpine exit). The county mounties may not allow traffic on those roads though. I'll consult my video tape from last year and see.

Nobody else is an ant. I've got a few first timers, too. I'm sure getting everyone together on Saturday is going to be a fiasco. If so, I'll have my grill, meat, and drinks and can head out on my own.

Sometimes it's fun to bring first timers to Alpine because it's fun to see them get all excited and remember your own first Alpine experience.

Then again, sometimes it's a pain in the ass, especially if someone gets lost in the crowd/lot! The past few years our group has always worn glow bracelets so that we can find one another. Makes it particularly nice on the lawn...if you go get beer you can always find your way back to your friends!

Brian, after you check this out let me know when you want to order and I can either send you money or pay you when we get there in three weeks :D
They also take phone orders.

It's $19 a case which isn't too bad. Maybe we only need 2 or 3 cases and the rest of the beer and green apple candy (for the girls) can be bought there.

I think I'll do the phone order for this b/c it says it's "unable to calculate shipping costs" when I try online. I vote to order 2 cases (one for each day). That, combined with some other beer/beverages, should do it.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but why buy Yuengling via the internet when there are plenty of other beers that are just as good, if not better, available near Alpine (try Lakefront Brewery or Sprecher for just two good examples).

Maybe it's my love of hometown beers, and I don't have a problem with it, but it just seems to me that some people are making purchasing beverages a lot more difficult than it has to be.

nope.....for a few reasons that I won't bring up here:)
I come from a very hard-core Bears fan family. Had I been born a boy my name would've been Brian Hallas, as in Picolo and George. (I'm not kidding.) That being said, I was afraid that my father might vote for him just because he worships him as a coach. I asked my dad last night and he said "Hell no, he's not qualified!" Living now in a state that elected a celebrity governor I was glad to hear that.

Well hello Alpine. :)

I've been MIA for a while, there's been a lotta shit gong on around home that I had to deal with. Also, one of the girls who was supposed to go on the Alpine trip has completed her transformation into Super-Bitch, so I had to deal with that too and explain to her why she's not going with us anymore. Thw two people I agreed to sell some N1 tickets to will get an email in a few minutes, and rapunzelchick, the other ones I have are yours as soon as I get the ones from the guy at AMI. He did respond to my PM about a week or so ago, saying he was sending out the tickets I bought, but I have yet to see them.

Sorry about the delay in getting back to everyone, I just haven't been around and when I was around I was in a crappy mood and didn't venute online too much.

But I decided to say "fuck 'em" to the stupid people in my life, so...viva la Alpine! :D

I would call the WH asap. Most of the time they require the picture ID of the person who ordered the tickets when you get them at the box office. Hopefully they will let you change the name if you explain it to them. Good luck!

Remember when it was like 150 days and we didnt think it was ever going to come? Now that it's 23 days left I'm scrambling to make the rest of my plans for the week. I've got the major things taken care of but there's a lot of fill time to do other things. Anyone been to the 6 flags near chicago? Worth the drive out there from Lake Geneva?

6 flags is amesome, I haven't been down there in a few years, so there are some new coasters I haven't been on, but if you have the time, you'll have a blast.

I would love to get into the yellow lot, however, over the past few years, I have always been put into the blue lot, while there is plenty of room in the yellow lot. I have to wait in the Twin Cities until my girlfriend flies in, then we have to meet two poeple from our group at the hotel, then off to the show. I will try to have a walkie so I can be in communication with everyone, but I should also have cell phone service in the lot.. I have ove the past few years.

http://terraserver.microsoft.com/addressimage.aspx?t=2&s=11&lon=-88.4350872218&lat=42.7397961694667&alon=-88.40292669&alat=42.78645647&w=2&ref=A%7cEast+Troy%2c+Wisconsin

I believe that 1000 ft above sea level is the elevation. This map is from 1977(apparently the main parking lot exit used to be a landing strip). If you click on the Aerial photo link on the left of the page, viola ALPINE!

I wonder what the stats are when there's a show at AVMT? (I'm sure it differs depending on the show. Like the median age at Jimmy Buffet is probably a bit higher than when Phish is in town.)

Higher elevation = get drunk quicker
Lower elevation = more pee breaks :BANG

For example last weekend in Hershey I drank the equivelant of a 12 pack and was buzzed, but not drunk and after the show I was fine to drive. Here in Denver if I drink a 12 pack I might be puking later. another example at the Bristow, VA show I slammed a six pack before going in and I swear all it did was make me have to piss...I didn't feel anything. I am not planning on getting wasted because I will not miss another DMB performance due to being piss drunk (see Denver show last year :haha ) I was just curious so I can plan accordingly.

These are the two-ways you can buy at Best Buy, Target, etc., right??? If so, I just picked up a pair of Motorola's with a 5-mile range.
