Hey, my Motorollas have something called an "Interference Eliminator Code." Is that the same thing as the "privacy code" you mentioned???Yes. If I'm on channel 12 with code 34 and you're on channel 12 with code 33, I won't hear your transmissions and you won't hear mine. Only radios using the same channel and code will hear each other. If I put my radio on scan though, it will find all active transmissions on all channels and codes.

Brookfield is in Waukesha county which comprises the western suberbs of Milwaukee. It really shouldn't take more than 30 minutes (w/light traffic) to get from Brookfield to downtown Mil-town. I grew up there and never toured the breweries just drank the products, but I believe Miller is on the near north side of Milwaukee, check the Phone book.....If you have a chance I say visit Water Street (bring cash gets kinda pricey) and Tour Sprecher Brewery (most popular beer in Milwaukee among the twenty-something crowd

Anything else lemme know

Yeah the two flights I have to choose form are horrible. I either get in Friday night (which is perfect) and have to catch a 6:45am flight back to Phoenix Monday morning (which has me leaving Alpine around 2:30 am) OR I get in Saturday afternoon (and everyone will already be up there) and leave late Monday (which is perfect). Different airlines or else I would mix and match trust me...

Orbitz uses a system that the more times a fare is accessed it perceives that as increased demand and raises the rates. A supposedly intelligent system that penalizes the indecisive. Bullshit.

On a better note: The printers has supplied me with the final artwork. It looks good and the shirts will be ready friday. Shirts will ship tuesday.

To everyone that ordered a shirt, I'll be including a card good for 100 free digital photo prints from sony imagestation. It was a promotion we ran at work that bombed. You do not need to buy a Sony Cybershot to get them(like the card says). This way we'll all have a place to upload our Alpine photos for sharing, and everyone will be able to get a bunch of professional free prints.

I don't know of any bus or train that takes you near Alpine. Perhaps some of our local Alpiners can help.

 2:21 @ O'Hare!? On a summer Saturday afternoon in Chicago!?

Girl, rent yourself a car and get your bootie on the freeway as soon as you get off that plane! Drive like a Chicagoan (but watch out for the WI State Troopers). Don't check your baggage. Don't stop for cheese or fireworks or beer. No potty breaks either, they've got ones in the lot.

We'll have a cold one waiting for you...:)

http://www.alpinevalleymusic.com/04show/080704.pdf

Lots open at 1pm. Gates open at 4pm. There will be a mad dash for the front part of the lawn right at 4pm but they'll start lining-up for the gates well before that. The lawn at Alpine is pretty sweet. Not too many bad places except behind speaker/light poles. You should be good to get a nice spot if you head in around 5 or 5:30pm. Even as the openers are on, you'll be able to get a decent spot.

what's the best advice on not getting caught up with the walworth county sheriff while i am enjoying a few libations in the yellow lot? i was just planning on putting everything into either a McDonald's cup or just going all hard stuff and mixing with gatorade into a gatorade bottle...and of course, not acting too crazy until i get into alpine...but aside from all that, can i get any words of wisdom from my more experienced alpiners who have done this type of thing...;)
I was at the show last year and din't see one cop anywhere. A coupla high school security guards but no big deal. If your really that worried go get a 24 ounce plastic water bottle from target. the hole is big enough to put in ice, it's got a cap to shake it up, and the integrity is much better than a mcdonalds cup......

Well, it did take me a good 30 minutes just to get caught up - once again, I must say you all make me laugh! I can't wai to see everyone, and enjoy the greatest party of the summer! Men Are Just Happier

Why Men Are Just Happier People - What do you expect from such simple creatures?
Your last name stays put.
The garage is all yours.
Wedding plans take care of themselves.
Chocolate is just another snack.
You can be president.
You can never be pregnant.
You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park.
You can wear NO T-shirt to a water park.
Car mechanics tell you the truth.
The world is your urinal.
You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky.
You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.
Same work, more pay.
Wrinkles add character.
Wedding dress - $5000. Tux rental - $100.
People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them
The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected.
New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.
One mood -- all the time.
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.
You know stuff about tanks.
A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.
You can open all your own jars.
You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.
Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack.
Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.
You almost never have strap problems in public.
You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes.
Everything on your face stays its original color.
The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.
You only have to shave your face and neck.
You can play with toys all your life.
Your belly usually hides your big hips.
One wallet and one pair of shoes one color for all seasons.
You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.
You can "do" your nails with a pocketknife.
You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.
You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 45 minutes.
No wonder men are happier!

Well, like any other venue, they can decide what activities are allowed in their parking lots. Because Alpine has the best lot scene, they probably just decided to "discourage" tailgating but ultimately allow it.

A quick update on shirts, all 25 are spoken for, and most are paid for. If anyone backs out, then there may be more available, but that won't happen until the lots. Another "man" related reading:

The Guys' Rules

We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are
the rules from the male side. These are our rules! Please note...
these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE!

1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put
it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us
complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the
tides. Let it be.

1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think
of it that way.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want.
Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every
question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it.
That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a
doctor.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In
fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.

1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't
expect us to act like soap opera guys.

1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of
the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you
want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do
it yourself.

1. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during
commercials.

1. Christopher Columbus did not need directions and neither do
we.

1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings.
Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a
Vegetable. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will act
like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth
the hassle.

1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an
answer you don't want to hear.

1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is
fine...Really.

1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are
prepared to discuss such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, or
monster trucks.

1. You have enough clothes.

1. You have too many shoes.

1. I am in shape. Round is a shape.

1. Thank you for reading this. Yes, I know, I have to sleep on
the couch tonight; but did you know men really don't mind that? It's
like camping.

OK WendyBeth;
A lossy format is a file type that loses some file information during compression and extraction. MP3 & WMA are lossy. In order to obtain a smaller file size, certain frequencies and sounds are eliminated or reduced to achieve easy transfer. That's why MP3 files will never sound as good as the original. Anyone who thinks MP3 are the same as CD quality is wrong. And deaf.

Formats like SHN are loss-less. They lose no file information during compression and extraction. THis is a better format for purist, like myself.

As a side note: I'll be going to Alpine this year unemployed. I quit my job of three years today. The last year and a half has been hell. It's so bad that I'm the VETERAN of my department. My last day is 8/5. It'll be a liberating weekend. My new job starts on the 11th. Yeah, baby.

Sorry WB, Jargon is a way of life.

file information - the digital information that makes up the song
compression - making a cd track smaller
extraction - making it back into a cd file that can be read by a regular cd player
WMA - windows media file(music)
frequencies - soundwaves(high notes - high frequency)(bass notes - low frequency)
transfer - sharing "one transfers files from Kazaa"

Thay are pretty good actually. I saw them last year at Luther's Blues in Madison. The lead singer sounds kinda like dave, and from a distance kinda resembles him too. As far as the band goes, they played well, and they seemed to do things a little different than DMB at least in terms of soloing and stuff. I think they are gonna be at Luther's again once school starts back up so I'll probably check them out again in September.
