So, guys, I’m wondering….

We have this nice little group of us that are in this thread almost daily and also the awesome people that pop in from time to time. :)

In which thread will we all be post-Alpine? Crumbo, Jamon and I are all going to Gorge and could hop over to that thread (which I think is kind of lame thus far) but would everyone else join us?

Women don't really have any good, funny names for male genitalia. At least not any that I know.

It occurred to me today that we really won't get to hang with you guys pre-show at all on N1 since we won't be getting into East Troy until 2:3-ish and then have to go deal with the lawn. Probably won't even have enough time to fire up the grill or anything. :(

Hey Alpiners, Its a long shot but I'm wondering if anyone knows of anybody who still needs tickets. The tickets are in 201 AAA for the saturday night show 8/7/04, face value. To make a long story short, my girlfriend used her wh account to buy tickets for her friends, who then f'd us over today saying they don't have the money to go. So now I'm starting here first to try and sell these.

Mine was 5-30-98, I was with my sisters boyfriend who got me into DMB intitially. What an amazing show for a first one. We sat lawn(as I do just about every time) and I remember how amazing I thought the venue was and all the "hardcore's" were a little strange, now look at me:p

My first Alpine experience (non-DMB) was on 7/13/91 for the Crazy World Tour for The Scorpions (openers - Steelheart, Mr. Big, Aldo Nova, Great White) (yes, Crumbo :D). I was totally taken back by the place from that point forward. Never got to see a show at Alpine for DMB due to law school and work until 2002. Now, I'm addicted.

Morning everybody....Friday's always seem slow in here

My first and only Alpine experience was in 2002 and I can honestly say those shows are in my top 10 all time shows. The amount of fun I had and the energy brought by the fans and the band are the reasons for me retuning this year and many years to come. I regret not making last year's shows but I could not fit them in my schedule. In 2002 I met up with some guys from Chicago and my friend Craig. I partied in the yellow lot both nights and had good seats for the shows. This year has so much potential and I look forward to meeting the people in this thread that I haven't already. well that's my story... and in two weeks we will eat, drink and be merry along with :monkey

My first Alpine experience ever was 8/26/90, when I saw Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. It was the night Stevie Ray died in the helicopter crash. We heard the news in the car on our way back to Chicago. Needless to say I was a bit traumatized.

I didn't return to Alpine until my first DMB experience there on 8/19/00. I went with Eddie and Aimee (back when they were in love) and our friend Norm (who you'll meet this year - he's coming with Eddie's group). The details are a bit fuzzy since that was also my first experience with esctasy. I know for sure though that it was one hell of a time! #41 opener!

Yea.

The freakiest this is that the same thing happened when Jerry Garcia died....saw the show at Soldier Field, obviously not expecting it to be his last, and then a few weeks later, poof, he's gone. :(

Speaking of Jerry, I just looked at my calendar and realized that they day we'll all be heading home from Alpine, Mon. 8/9/04, is the 9th anniversary of his death. I miss him...I'm not going to Alpine this weekend because I just haven't been able to bring myself to see The Dead without Jerry. It would be like seeing DMB without Dave.

I am just learning to enjoy all that Alpine has to offer. I used to live in Louisville so my main destination was always Deer Creek. I grew up in Milwaukee and have been to Alpine for concerts twice. Van Halen in 1996 and DMB last year. Deer Creek is always a good show but damn last year DMB blew me away at the Valley

I'm waiting for Eddie's review of VH last night....
Warning! This post has nothing to do with: DMB, Alpine Valley - just a side note.

So, went to last night's VH show with a friend from Chi who was at first show. We had great seats on the floor - and what an amazing show! Wolfgang was there, and played with Eddie during 316...energy was super high - and the crowd was awesome! My friend from Chi said last night was twice as good as Monday night. I will give you more details Brian... I am just getting my normal hearing back as I am typing this right now:)

Lets reminisce on our first Alpine experience:

A friend had hooked me up with her Warehouse tix...she was from Oconomawoc (sp?) and had worked there for a couple of summers, and had also ordered tix to a show she couldn't go to, so I stepped in. Went down for first night only (big mistake) because I had an amazing time! Between my friend and myself we finished 16, 17, 18 or so beers, and loved the show. Pig, Stone, amazing! Well, driving home the next day, I swore I would never miss an Alpine Summer, nor would I ever go to only one show! I will always make room for the greatest party / concert of the summer! I hope everyone has an awesome 1st time at Alpine, it would take skill to not have fun!

15 Days! Holy Shit! Yes! Yes! Yes!:lol

First Alpine Experience: Pearl Jam 6/98. I won tickets from a local radio station and went to the show. Ended up in the green lot...boy did that suck.

First DMB and first DMB at Alpine experience: 6/26/99: I didn't realize how good that show was until about a year and a half later. I wasn't super into DMB and I wanted to hear Ants or Billies, but instead I got Pig, #40, Long Black Veil and Angel from Montgomery. *sigh*

so on with this free ipod stuff...i was looking on the internet and i found this guy who said it worked for him and he's got pictures and everything...so i was gonna give it a try...if anyone else here wants to do it i would recommend using the ebay feature and all you have to do is register for ebay and as long as you make some type of bid, you will be registered, so i found some subwoofer with a starting bid of a cent and bid 2 dollars on it and even though i will be outbid, it will still work...so now i need some referrals, so if you all are going to try this along with me would be kind enough to use my referral link? thanks a lot

Na, I'm not going to Cincy...but i got 20th row for both nights at alpine...which should be sweet. Happy about that for sure. I just can;t wait till alpine!!!

I got 202 X both nights. There were a fre oppurtunities that I could've had my hands on some rows like 3rd or 5th, but they were all on the side and I've heard so many bad things about that area...so i'm right in the center and happy about it.

I hope we get some nive weather for the hot BBQ!

those are great seats, that will be awesome. I just got instants in sec 103 row G, but I'm a little nervous about that as well, I was hoping to get some feedback from some in this thread. I think it depends on the seat #'s as well.

Hey, how soon did you order the tickets after they went on sale on the WH? Just curious because i got a single from Instants for the San Diego show about 9 minutes aftr they went up...but i haven't heard of anyone who got some for that show...so i don't know what my chances are. I talked to someone who got front row almost 20 minutes after they went up. I guess it all depends...but i'm very anxious.

I'm looking forward to the new songs again...they're all much better than they were in chicago. I like Hello Again and GGT most of all.

Great gig in Charlotte tonight. A small frog has taken residence in Dave's throat, but he didn't let it get the best of him. The temperature has been rising as we move further south, and the shows are getting hotter to match. We're packing up quickly and heading to Raleigh for a show on Monday. See you then.

2 weeks!! damn, i can't wait. i've been watching these setlists since i went to chicago and it's building the suspense. i know that alpine will bring the energy it usually does. i'm going both nights and i'm hoping for liog, stjl, stone, dido, bowa, seek up, and hopefully a debut. those songs have all been played so for, so it's not a long shot. if they're not played though, it'll still be an amazing weekend. ok, i'm done. just had to jump in here cause alpine is amazing and i can't wait for these shows.

Saw Trippin' Billies play at the Simon Estes Amphitheatre last night. Met about 20 people from Des Moines that are going to Alpine. Show was good, they did a great job on many songs, a good job on others. They also covered a little marley and JJ. They have their own jams on certain songs but the consensus from the hard core fans that were there, myself included, that they most definitely rock. If you have a chance to see them then do so.

We'll if you can't get on I-294 (if you're too far west to backtrack east) then take I-90 to Route 47 (Huntley/Woodstock). Take IL-47 north through Huntley, Woodstock, and Hebron (state champs basketball water tower :D). Then, you'll be in Wisconsin and IL-47 turns in to Wisc-120. DO NOT take IL-120 which you'll pass in Woodstock. Take Wisc-120 all the way through Lake Geneva (senic ;) ). You'll go all the way to Hwy-D. Turn left (west) on Hwy-D and then you're there. Leave yourself time b/c Lake Geneva traffic is usually rough.

If you're able to get on I-294 north, then take that (turns in to I-94 at Lake-Cook Road) all the way in to Wisconsin. From there, exit at Hwy-20. Take that west to Hwy-D. Then, Hwy-D west to Alpine.

Exactly, how do you expect to hit 1000 before Alpine with this rational posting technique? From now on, one word per post.

In other news:
The ghost of Dino Ciccarelli(who isn't dead yet) visited me in my dreams last night and instructed me to go on a great quest to a large hill in the land of milk to find enlightenment. I told him I was going to Alpine again. He asked if I had a spare ticket.
