For my 1000th post I thought it would be a good idea to put some thought into it. Here is a little backround about myself. I joined ants in June 2002 solely to obtain access to the ticket board and keep my tour stats accurate. I rarely looked at the forum boards and did not post at all. My username reflects the fact that I live in Denver (the mile high city) and the fact that I am a davehead which isn't a term used a lot around here, but at the time in 2002 that is what I considered myself and I still stand by that label today. Yes I do burn one down when it's available, though not as much as I used to, and at a DMB show it is a necessity. (If I fly to a show in your town please share...I will return the favor if you come here :D ). Speaking of flying that is how I get to most of my shows due to the fact I am blessed with family flight benefits...thanks Dad :hug couldn't have seen 43 shows without ya.

I did not start posting and interacting until this year and boy am I glad I started. Already I have met a handful of great people in person and on top of that they are avid DMB fans like myself. I am so thankful this site exists because I feel comfortable sharing my experiences and talking to all y'all. Alpine is rapidly approaching and I am looking forward to spending a fun, crazy, exciting, and safe weekend with everyone who is going. I have achieved a status of a whore, but I prefer to be called a 'G' for the grand status :p . I would like to say thanks to all y'all for being so cool and embracing me in this thread which I consider my home on these boards. Also want to give a shout out to all those who make this site possible...I would have to work at work without it. As you see on this post it is foe-twenty cst....how appropriate.

Now, I'll be using that thing in 11 days to capture some really cool memories (and who knows, maybe some pics of the show :D).

I'm still willing to kick his ass if you'd like. :)

I'm still stuck on the fact that you said you'd abandon the Country Inn & Suites! I'm all for staying in a big group but you couldn't ask for a better location and all those youngins camp anyway. We should just get a block of rooms there!

What's up gang? Making my debut over here after appearing on the Tweeter Center forum before... Starting to get excited for the trip to Wisconsin for the Sunday show! Got my Premium Parking pass so we're all set. My roommate from college is coming along -- will be his 3rd show as he saw them with me at my first show in 1996. Just have to figure out the best way to get there...

Saw a number of shows in the last few weeks, including the Counting Crows/Graham Colton Band/Jem show at the House of Blues. That was an excellent show, though Jem was only o.k. (she's opening at Alpine, but may not be worth getting there early for). Also saw the following shows with my wife -- Sting (ok)/Annie Lennox (great); Finn Brothers (great); Alanis (o.k.)/BNL (good).

On the new CD front, now listening to The Gorge (of course!), Wilco, BoDeans, Graham Colton Band and Los Lonely Boys... Recommend them all.

Be sure to stop in here a bit more these last few days before the show. We'll all be finalizing our plans to meet up with one another.

Update: Everyone is going to live. I have photos of the truck I'll post later. To you legal eagles, what's the deal since they were not belted? Being not belted saved their lives, but could our carrier deny their claim based on the fact that we require them to use their seatbelts? I think we'll still be paying a large chunk no matter what. doesn't matter to me, I'm outta here on the 5th.

Depends on the specific policy language. Even if the WC carrier denies the claim because of that, depending on liability, there might still be a PI claim for them.

I'm still wearing my pants though.

i'm excited about our prospects this year...

#41
Seek Up
Watchtower
Lie in our Graves
Drive in Drive out

all the new ones and the others they've been playing on a regular basis. Could make for some great shows. I hope we get stuff like 41, seek up, ect. Hope there will be a new one played...maybe say goodbye again. Should be good times!

A description of my previously-mentioned coworkers wild ride...

According to the eyewitness:

The driver drifted off his right side of the road by the seed sign barely visible in the distance of the impact point photo. He overcorrected and went through the ditch on the opposite side of the road and hit the embankment by the stop sign, catapulting the truck through the air inverted and backwards. It is estimated that the truck was travelling 60mph at this point. They were both thrown through the windshield upon impact. The truck hit the telephone pole while going backwards and upside down(the mark you see on the pole above their heads is from the steel lift gate). This caused it to spin and it landed on the cab while inverted, plowing into the ground.

The distance as measured by the State Patrol from point of impact to final rest was 104 ft. The driver(230lbs) was found 124 feet away; the passenger(245lbs) was 137 ft away from the point of impact.

The driver suffered numerous broken ribs, a punctured lung, a ruptured spleen, a fractured cheekbone, and numerous lacerations.

The passenger suffered a compound fracture in each arm and numerous lacerations.

Had they been buckled in, clearly both would have died upon landing. A certified paramedic happened upon the scene within minutes and stabilized both. Miracles happen.

They did get a new stop sign up pretty damn quick, though.

The driver drifted off the road to the right and then overcorrected to the left, sending the truck on the two right wheels, and into the left ditch. Good thing no one was waiting at that stop sign.

That's one amazing wreck. And remember always wear your seatbelts...unless you're going to run your truck into a telephone poll backwards and upsidedown at 60mph... :ugh:

Hope they come out ok.

Only happy thoughts from here on out, as our boys are going to be OK. Everyone from our CEO on down has been in touch with our boys wishing them well. This is simply the most incredible thing I've ever seen.

It's Alpine time once again!
Shirts are done and everyone has their tracking numbers. My packing list is finalized. All tickets are claimed and paid. Tickets are in hand. Oil has been changed in the Jeep. I'll be good as long as I remember this: All I REALLY need are the clothes on my back and a ticket to the show.

My guests this year include my DMB partner in crime Chad(A.K.A "Fitz"). I took him to his first show at Deer Creek in 2000, he's seen 22 since(even two in London, Eng-a-land). The two DMB virgins this year are my girlfriend Megan(She'll be @ Sandstone as well) and her friend Carey Jo(My former roommate's girlfriend; and the girl responsible for introducing us). They're good people, excited to go and excited to meet all of you. Chad is an Encyclopedia of DMB knowledge and he can predict songs like no one I've ever met. I've created a monster.

Kevin and I just confirmed that we got the lower half of this duplex we want to move into! Now we're officially combining households and Luke will have a nice, big, fenced-in yard!

How, you might ask, does this have anything to do with Alpine?

1. Now that I'll have an actual office in which to put my desk/computer, it will be worthwhile to get some Internet access (probably through the cable company, Comcast) so I'll be able to chat with my buddies in the Alpine thread in the evenings from the comfort of my home.

2. We will have a guest room so if any of my buddies from the Alpine thread need a place to crash for a Target Center show they've got one!

No, we were only supposed to give them to people that bought Sonys. You can upload pictures from any camera. Imagaestation also lets you build online photo albums for sharing with other imagestation members.

They gave us like 100 of those cards. We only gave out 10. The rest got divided between myself and myself. It's ready to go, just punch that code in when it asks for payment for your prints

Yeah, but at least they weren't stolen from another song. I like the woo's during WH and the band seems to encourage it. Let's just do something different for Joy Ride or nothing at all. Pretty soon, daveheads are going to be known as "those fans that woo during every pause in a song."

So, what are the tailgating plans at alpine anyways? Yeah, we have the premier lot and the yellow lot crowds....but besides that. Who's meeting up? Where, When, what to bring? :) Is there an official meet up planned yet? Only 10 days till the shows but I'm leaving in only 6 days. I dont want to miss out on all the last minute plans.

Oh, and last year I got fried in the lot so I'm thinking about buying a 30 dollar canopy for some shade in case it's blistering sun again this year. Is this a good Idea? Anyone else bring these? Anyone discourage bringing one with?

We welcome all to our fun. I guess woo's are ok for warehouse as they're not going away anytime soon, refrain from doing it during joyride, please. The ants are basically congregating in two areas for tailgating. One group is going to the premier lot(henceforth known as the "Hoser group"); and one group is going to be in the yellow lot(known as the "Triple-Gonzo-Loco group"). Being a Hoser requires an additional premier parking ticket of $20. The Hosers get to vacate the lot in less than 30 minutes and the Triple-Gonzo-Locos party in the lots till midnight or later since they have no choice.

Welcome. We're not like the others...
