Yeah. I figured you'd whore it up around noon or so to let the late comers (Jamon) in on the fun.
I've actually got our monthly paralegal luncheon (read: bitch session) today so I'll be gone for a few hours. I'm gonna shoot for 4:20 becuase it's such a special time of day. :D

Well today I woke up later than usual to a nice rain storm. So I prepped for alpine and didn't bother to put my hardtop back on. Just kidding, there wasn't enough time. I only got slightly soaked. My coworkers find this hilarious.

Is it wrong for me to not listen to GGT and Joy Ride before the show? My thinking is I want it to be brand new for me while I'm listening to the show at Alpine. So I won't be able to sing along, but is that really so bad?
:monkey <--- I think its a good idea.

your call...me personally I like to ba able to sing along and pretty much know all the basic lyrics to both songs(3 shows and numerous listens to '04 shows). Be careful in the yellow lot if you don't want to hear them, 'cause they will be blaring out of my rental or Brian's Murano :D
just don't sit down or go to the bathroom which is the behavior I have seen the most during all the new jams

No, I try not to go to the bathroom during the shows, and if I absolutely have to, I go during WWTW, IIHIA or Satellite.

Ditto, The my neighbors will have an intimate knowledge of these songs before the show. My employee discount was good for something these last few years.
Bad news for those awaiting the second round of shirt shipping. Since I resigned last week, all my UPS privleges were revoked(thanks for telling me, boss). I won't pass on the initial round's cost to anyone, but all shirts that haven't shipped will require a face to face exchange.

i kind of like that long walk from the yellow lot to the venue. It's tropical and it provides for a workout to work off the mass beer calories consumed during the show. Downside-->after the show, lots of drunk guys peeing off the side of the walkway:monkey <------will point and laugh at guys taking a whiz on the street, thereby drawing attention to the lack of endowment...hee hee

Never been to Coors, but I used to live in San Diego, and from what I remember SD is pretty good about having cabs around. But just to be safe, I would look up the number to a cab company that goes down there (you don't want to be stranded in Chula Vista).

I was hoping I'd be able to come up with something really deep and philosophical for my 1000th post but I'm just not stoned enough. :D So I'll just share a little about myself, though some of you may know this stuff already:
My name is Wendy Beth (yes, both names) and as you can see I'm up in MinneSNOWta. I'm originally from Chicago and I bleed orange and blue. I'm a "hippie chick" in the sense that I like to spread as much happiness as possible and I'm an unabashed tree-hugger. I prefer to only wear shoes when necessary for safety. I'm a vegetarian and a huge Deadhead. I make my living as a full-time paralegal in a personal injury law firm and I also teach Hebrew and Jewish History to 7th graders 6 hours a week. I love both of my jobs. I have a boyfriend, Kevin. We have a German Shepherd, Luke, who is the coolest dog on the face of the earth.
I have to throw out a thank you to Eddie. I was not at all into DMB when Eddie and I became friends back in 1999. Many Sunday post-Vikings-game-burn-one-down-rides he spent playing DMB over and over and I credit him with getting me hooked. He's also the person who told me about Ants. He called and said "WB you gotta check out this site antsmarching.org. They have this automated thing where you can request a B&P!" (I did request a B&P but never did hear from anyone.) So here I am, rapunzelchick. :)
I also want to publicly thank Crumbo, who was the first person on this board to be really nice to me. :angel (I would start a Crumbo appreciation thread but starting a thread is a serious action....) I didn't really post much until I "met" him and thought, "Hey, there's some cool cats on this board."
It has been really awesome getting to know all of you. It was great to finally meet Brian, Jamon and Crumbo at Tweeter and I'm looking forward to seeing you all again. And for those of you I haven't yet met...I can't wait to meet you in only 10 days!!!
Thank you all for putting up with my lack of technological knowledge, my poor memory, and my ditziness in general. I certainly considered myself a "Davehead" but it wasn't until getting on Ants that I thought of myself as part of a community.
Thanks, you guys. :hug

Oh, while I'm thinking about it, does anyone have any clean sources of the 2000 shows from Alpine. I haven't listened to those shows for quiet some time. The last few days on the way to work I've been listening to those shows, and the copies I have (which I got via trade) have skips between songs...mp3/shitty recording???. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it

Well, we got SG & LS on night one last year, so I don't dare hope for it again. And we got Minarets on night 2. I'd dig any of them though, don't get me wrong, especially a nice 41.

I've found that if you are going to refer to yourself in the third person, you may as be as pretentious as possible and add "the" in front. As in:
The Matthew backed into his roommate's girlfriend's car this morning and smashed up both vehicles. What a way to start the day.

Oh No! Not the Jeep! The Matthew must be a little annoyed today. Sorry to hear this, hopefully the Jeep will be OK by next weekend - let's hope so. At least no one was injured.
One week baby! We are one week away (almost). I know there are technically 8 days, but next Friday I will be finalizing all of my plans, double checking the beer, food and other necessities. Can't wait!
It is slow in here today - but I have a feeling come Monday AM, this place will be buzzing with excitedment - and WB and Brian who are gone for day. Well, rest up everyone, get ready - because the greatest party of the summer is almost here!:)

It's minor paint damage and the bumper is bent, but it won't stop the trip to Alpine. It's a Jeep, so it's added character; not damage. I'm making it look MEAN!

I just want to know that I can find somewhere to park, even if it is a ways away from the venue, or if it takes forever to get out of the lot. Thanks in advance for any help.

there's always parking in the lot....i doubt it ever gets completly, totally full. If you show up a few hours before the show you'll be earlier than most....though a lot of people like to get there that early to cook out and stuff...it can take hours to get ouf of the lot...but my friends and i always cook out again after the show so we don't worry about that.

I'm getting everything all lined up today. Got all my gear layed out in the living room making sure it's all there. Too bad it looks like rain will once again play a part at alpine. Glad I bought a canopy now. I was beginning to wonder if it was even worth it. Whatever it takes to keep the tailgating going though right? I dont wanna sit in the car all afternoon in the lot cuz of the rain. I'm sure I'll check in here a couple more times before I leave but I've got our softball tourney on monday night and I'm leavin right after work on tuesday for the twin cities. Gonna hit up the mega mall and a twins game and valley fair then off to lake geneva on friday. It's here! finally. :monkey

Yeah, plus I dont trust a 3 day forecast let alone a 7-day or 10-day forecast. It'll rain at some point, it always does out there. I just hope the temp stays where they say it will. 70's is perfect. I can handle 80's. I hate anything above 90

Looking at the map of the lots, how do the cars get in/out of Premier quicker? Doesn't it use the road that goes past the Green Lot?
After the show gets over there are thousands of people walking on that road and it is nearly impossible to get through with a vehicle.
You also run the chance of people jumping on your car or messing with you and your vehicle(seen them both happen).
Do they just have to wait a bit until the crowd clears and then start the parade of vehicles or is there another way out of that lot???
The only way I can see it save time is there are less vehicles trying to exit that lot.
Just curious. I've always parked in Green, easy to get to/from my place.

Hi All:
Well, we are only a few days away from what promises to be a fabulous weekend. The extended forecast shows 78 and sun on Saturday and 77 and clouds on Sunday, but no rain.
Here are some answers to questions that have been posed on the boards over the past week or so:
Question 1:
Can I hand out free CDs and free flyers in the parking lots?
Answer:
Unfortunately, we do not permit the handing out of any type of literature, CDs, etc. on our property unless we have given written permission to the organization doing so and have reviewed all of the materials that will be distributed.
Question 2:
How does Premier Parking get out quicker than the other lots?
Answer:
Premier Parking does use the road that goes along the woods toward Green Lot to exit. Yes, it is true, that you will be sharing the road with some people after the show, but within about 15 minutes of the show ending, we have two lanes of traffic going down that road for VIP and Premier to exit. So, the VIP and Premier lots have two dedicated lanes to exit for what is the smallest lot in the complex.
Question 3:
When can't I buy Premier Parking anymore online?
Answer:
Due to the time required to mail out Premier Parking tickets, they are automatically removed from the TM site before a show. Premier Parking is still available for both nights, but now, you will have to enter at the main theatre entrance and purchase on the day of the show. Only cash will be accepted and Premier Parking will be closed once the total number of spots has been pre-sold and the day of shows spots have been sold. So if we have presold 500 spots, and there are another 400 spots available on the day of show, once those 400 are gone, even if all 500 presold vehicles do not show up, Premier Parking would be closed from any new vehicles other than the presold tickets.
That's about all I have for now. If you have any other questions, please let me know.
Regards,
Brian, Security Manager

Three women were hiking through a forest when they came upon a large raging violent river. Needing to get on the other side, the first woman prayed, "God, please give me the strength to cross the river."
Poof! God gave her big arms and strong legs and she was able to swim across in about 2 hours, having almost drowned twice.
After witnessing that, the second woman prayed,
"God, please give me strength and the tools to cross the river."
Poof! God gave her a rowboat and strong arms and strong legs and she was able to row across in about an hour after almost capsizing once.
Seeing what happened to the first two women, the third woman prayed,
"God, please give me the strength, the tools 'and the intelligence' to cross the river."
Poof! She was turned into a man. He checked the map, hiked one hundred yards up stream, and walked across the bridge.

Good to see that I'm not the only one who's beginning to pack. My list is ready, but it looks like I'll be adding a little more waterproofing. I've decided to police the items packed by my GF and her friend, as they've never been to Alpine or DMB and might end up bringing something with an elevated heel on it or something...
The Matthew went to Iowa City for the weekend to get the Jeep fixed up a little. Free welding equipment, plus the Iowa City night life is always flirting with disaster(even in the summer).

Game on! Let's do it! I say we should each put in $5 or so, and then we shall submit set lists.
Couple things need to be worked out - example - do you get bonus points for guessing the right song at the right time / in order? Who will be "in charge" and let's figure out the point system!

Here's what I propose...
1) Submit your setlist and money in the Premier lot each day(20 songs)
2) 1 point for each song played
3) 2 point bonus for correct spot
4) 4 point bonus for opener and closer
5) ASTB and PNP count for songs but other intros (lap-steel, bass intro, etc.) do not count.
6) No deduction for additional songs over.

WB, do you drive a Jeep Liberty(a.k.a. a KJ)?
Nope. I drive a 2000 Honda Civic EX coupe, black, spoiler, Grateful Dead dancing terrapin sticker on the back next to the Critical Habitat plate. For Alpine I'm renting a "Chevrolet Trailblazer or similar." Why?

I'm going to say that we don't count teases unless they turn up on the official dmb setlist on-line. Too hard to verify.
