are you gonna try to score some tickets for night one still?
You bet, I just have to decide the best way to get them. I have never been closer then about MM or in there. I would really, really like to get close JUST once so I might consider those expensive tickets online. I can just see myself getting screwed by ticketmaster and then I would be out of luck. Guess I will have to see what happens

i was just checking out BFB for sites, so i updated the map. chris, i swear i'm not taking your job! a couple more spots have been reserved. once again, if you have any of the spots taken on the map, let us know...
Ya know what, Jon? Go for it. I hereby relinquish the cartographer duties to you. I really don't have the time this semester.

i get lucky once in a while i guess. although, if you remember last year, i managed to scrounge up 12 people to go to BFB with me. not again this year though. that was just too many people, especially since not everyone went to the shows and we didn't see the people who stayed back at camp the entire time. right now i must admit, i only have 5 people confirmed, i'm still greasing the wheels on number six.

Here's a hint. Dont let the girls that are sleeping in your tent open the tent in the middle of a thunderstorm!! That's for you steve.
Oh, and look for some tent sealer in the camping section of any store, spray this stuff on all the endges, corners, seams, zippers of your tent to help stop water...works like a charm. OH, and do it before you use your tent for the first time, it stinks.

Yea, just a little. :(
And really, there wasn't anything they did wrong, except not score. You can't blame the goalie, you can't blame the d-men, and you can't blame the forwards for not trying. They just got a good clear shot at our net, and we never got one into theirs. Life goes on, and I'd put money on the fact that both Zach and Bo will be back next year. I guess we'll just have to continue the rivalry next october.

Just west of Bong on Hwy 142 on the way to Burlington there will be a hand painted sign for firewood. Head south to a farm on the west side of the road. He has a great rate on firewood. We filled up the whole rear end of my old Ford Exploder for about $15.

The hardest partiers usually arrive the earliest and end up in the lots closest to the ampitheater (and then don't have to walk down that godforsaken hill!) but they're ALL a big giant party. There's really so such thing as a lame lot at Alpine....the party's as crazy as you make it! :p

In 4 years @ Alpine I have never had anyone ask us to pack up and leave after the show. Mind you, I've never tried staying more than 3 hours so I might not be the best judge. The traffic outbound takes at least that long to clear though.

My husband and I didn't leave last year until well after 12:00. No one was pushing us out or bothering us, and there were still lots of folks dancing, grilling, and hanging out.

That's cool. There's a venue here in Michigan that we've actually had the parking lot "security" insist that we wait inside our cars until traffic cleared.

Hi All:
You are right on the parking lots, but you may not have a choice of where you can park. We vary the traffic to the different lots based on traffic flow, etc. Keep your fingers crossed. See my posts in the general discussion thread titled, "Hello From Alpine Valley" for more details.

We do like to have the lots cleared as soon as possible, but realize that having 12,000 cars leaving at once is a tough thing to do. We will start telling people to pack up things within a reasonable amount of time after the show ends. Once traffic begins to clear, please help us by starting to pack your things, etc. For your safety, please stay either inside or close to your vehicles at all times. We don't want anyone getting hurt.

Well, I got my tickets. We went for night 2 first and got section Section 201 AA 63-65. (Not bad, just 2 rows back of last year and 5 seats closer in, so about the same view). Then we went for night 1 and could only get lawn. THAT sucked. Hopefully I can find somebody that got better seats through TMaster than they did through the warehouse. I just don't wanna sit on a muddy hill. Although the sound is amazing throughout that whole place so that's not really a worry of mine. I'm just angry they put alpine tickets for sale on a totally different day than all the rest of the shows.

Hotels go quite fast. People like me made reservations when the 2004 tour dates rumor thread started, and then changed them the hour the real dates went up. I assume you're talking about Lake Lawn resort in Delavan on the $200/night. They don't take too kindly to the concert crowds. I have been gone for a while and have a couple questions if anyone could help me out. Lawn seats are just general admission and standing is first come first serve, or is there an actual place I have to stand? Next, where is the best place to camp? My buddy and I want to camp, but I dont know which place is the best. I am sure these topics have been discussed before, but thanks to all that can help me out.
Yeah. Get there early and tailgate, then just leave your tailgate as soon as you know the gates open. I camped at Big Foot Beach last year and it was awesome. A lot of people suggest Bong Recreation too.

I think that's a good thing. :) There a many, many conversation threads around here.
Our Council's Girl Scout camp is just about 5 miles from Alpine. I've been toying with the idea of booking it for 2005 and inviting a bunch of Ants to camp there. It has a lodge, tents, bathroom, kitchen, etc. What do you all think?

We'd just have to cart out our <ahem> trash. :lol It only costs me $25 to rent an 80 acre secured campground with about 10 large, scattered campsites, firepits, everything. It is quite cool. Of course...I don't know if I could trust you whackos. :freak :lol It would be fun though.

And yeah, I did see on the map that 101 H is waaay to the side. We're gonna work to do something about that.

I'm assuming they say you have worse seats than you had before.
Just call them with all the numbers (order, confirmation, and any other) and see what they tell you.

I know its only like 5 rows back and on the right side instead of the left, but cmon why would they change that like that?

I'll be a row behind you night 1 but alllllllll the way to the end, the far end. My seats are 102 and 104 in row BB in 203. Not too happy about that. We'll see about night 2 once the wh releases thier seat info.

There has to be some resemblance of control and order, I guess. I have some funny camcorder footage of uniformed deputies cracking down and dumping some Coronas. The expression on this guys' face is incredible. The county mounties have to make some serious cash off Alpine concerts, a huge source of revenue to compensate for the pain the locals have to endure.

I'm pretty sure DMB has the final say as to whether or not taping equipment will be allowed into the venue. I think that it's listed as a general rule just because. I'm very sure we'll see mic stands among us again this year @ alpine.

I know I shouldn't get worked up, but I remember at Soldier Field when a security guard told a taper that the taper wasn't going in with recording equipment, and about 40 people around us blew up on this security goon. They finally let him in after quite some bickering. I just dislike hassles like that...
But these sheets are supposed to be artist/show specific.

Until we get further clearance and our security advance from the band, we post the more restrictive items out on our site to avoid dissappointment. So, as of now, there is not taping allowed. This may change once we get the final security advance from the band, but the premilinary advance we received stated "No Cameras or Recorders." If and when "No Taping" changes to "Taping Permitted", it will be updated on our website and on our voice mail system.

unfortunately, that requires common sense, which many people that anyone encounters at a show lack. if they're dumb enough to risk it, if they get caught they it's their own fault...
i'm all for having a good time, but there just are some people who shouldn't be drinking, many of them underage, but just as many are over 21. sorry, if i'm getting on a soapbox, but there's only so much drunken stupidity i can take before i start to get pissed. go to the show, enjoy it, then go home and get shitfaced so i don't have to deal with you when i'm trying to have a good time.

:thumbsup Amen to that, bro! The only thing I DON'T like about this band's community is the overabundance of druken stupidity. It seems like the lot scene at other band's shows are way more chill and laid back and way less drunken craziness.
First night of Alpine last year the guys behind us spent the whole show yelling "Hey, Dave! I'm wasted!" Like the band or any of us around you care. To make matters worse, right at the high-point of Last Stop one of them puked so much that it literally splattered onto the back of my legs. The ticketing website is not exactly correct on the seat numbers and locations. I am in the process of disciphering the Ticketmaster maps of the seats available and we will be doing a new seating map of the theatre for Alpine soon. In addition, once the weather warms up a bit and our winter roof repairs are done, we are going to be taking a ton of pictures and create an interactive seating map for the website that will allow you to mouseover certain rows and sections and actually see what your view of the stage is from the seats. It should be pretty cool and help everyone figure out exactly if their seats are good or bad. I would appreciate any feedback on this new feature and what you would find valuable, so if you have suggestions, drop me an e-mail at: brian@alpinestaff.com.
