so anyway....after not being able to clamp onto that dudes stand at Alpine I decided to invest in a good taping rig:

AKG 480/ck61 caps (cards)>Zaolla cables and a 13 foot stand with a Sure Vert Mount and Audio Technica AT8410 shockmounts (all this courtesy of MT :thumbsup over a the tapers board)>warm/digi mode UA-5 (phantom power, pre-amp & A/D) courtesy of Oade Bros. (found a used one 1 hour after mine shipped for about $150 cheaper :BANG )>JB3 (and I picked up some ck63 caps (hypers) from Oade Bros. also).....so it looks like I will officially start taping shows....if the seats are right :)

16 months ago when I started taping my buddies band for fun I said I wouldn't go any further and tape DMB but as I was told--taping is an addicition :rolleyes:

Dave broke 4 guitar strings and carter broke a few cymbals. Easy boys, they're just instruments. That's 740 miles for Alpine and 390 miles for Sandstone. I offcially hate driving.

For my 4,000th post, I’d like to offer up some thanks to the folks around here. First off, I’d like to thank the Alpine crew… (in order of number of posts) Wendy Beth, Crumbo, Jamon, Matthew, Eddie, and the rest of y’all. You guys have made it fun to hit the boards every now and again (mostly again). It was great meeting all of you and getting a chance to party. I’m sure there will be more of that to come (GGP, Kohl, ALPINE, etc.). It’s good to see that there are some decent people on the boards.

I’d also like to give a shout out to my new crew over at the GGP thread. Like my Alpine buddies, I’m sure meeting all of you and hanging out :cool: is going to be a blast.

Then, I need to head back to my roots and thank the Boobs! thread crew… Brian, Dan, Stace, Marcelo, Frank, and all my fellow boobers. That thread helped me become what I am today. :confused: You guys make checking the nDMBc forum interesting. I’m glad we’ve been able to help create such a legendary thread out of a Kenny’s simple “whore” thread. Nice work, y’all. I’ll soon be posting my 1,000th in there so I’m trying to find something spectacular for you guys.

Also, thanks to the mods and everyone that maintains the site and the server. You guys do a hell of a job and we are really lucky to have this place. Most non-dMb fans are amazed that this place exists.

Lastly, I need to give thanks to the one and only E.T. (East Troy). In the last couple of months you’ve grown-up so much. In the beginning, you were just a dancing monkey with no personality. Now, you’ve become……….well….. a dancing monkey that we give words to. :D Either way, you’re a superstar now. Multiple threads are devoted just to you. I know you’ll always remember your roots and you’ll visit us every now and then, but for now it’s time for you to go explore the rest of this site. You are the proudest monkey. Don’t you ever forget that. Just watch yourself out there b/c people will try and manipulate you. Just remember what we taught you… have a Good Good Time!!!

:monkeyWell, for some reason, I think the Clear Channel empire should look at what other venues do... at Alpine, there rarely seems to be major fights, bottles are not thrown -partly because we are a really cool group of people, partly because there is a good police presence. I hope there is never any event such as these bad accidents, but maybe the local police should step up and protect everyone - not to mention a decent amout of $$$$$$ for the city / county (once again, as proven at Alpine for Phish and Dave).

The Ryan Hoyt source from N2 has some weird things going on in the high-midrange frequency area of the left channel. I'll have to listen hard on the headphones, but I'd imagine I'll scrap this recording.

The Ryan Hoyt N1 has a weird pulsating during the encore that is also not pleasing to me.

I concur. Don't get me wrong, I like the song, but it tends to drag. Still mostly unknown, it certainly kills the crowd.

I'm back -and what a trip :) :D ! The second night at Home Depot Center (my only show) was awesome! There were only a couple of downsides - I guess the first night (Sat) was sold out, while second night there was nobody in the upper deck of the stadium :( , boy did the people of LA pick the wrong time to go to the first show; Corona - $11 for a 20 / 24 oz, not so cheap - but there were 20,000 people and 1 ATM :violent. I had floor seats, toward the back, but they were pretty good. Wonderful set - they played 2 step on Sat :mad: not Sun, but I did get Watchtower :D. Overall had a great trip - started off with drinks with WB and Kevin in Minneapolis airport - and finished with a quick trip to Disneyland! I enjoyed catching up, and know you guys will have a blast this weekend - I wish I could go...

Usually with recorded shows, I hate having crowd noise, except for the two nights of Alpine 2004. The crowd enhanced that whole weekend, and the band clearly loved it.
