Brookfield is just your normal suburb with two main areas. In the southern part it is miles of strip malls and hotels and the northern part is a very ritzy area. Overall its a great town. I live right next door in waukesha so im in brookfield alot.

FYI...anyone driving from in from MI, there's a new car ferry that runs across lake Michigan from Muskegon to Milwaukee. Definitely a good way to save time, gas and the trouble of driving through Chicago traffic. :thumbsup

I'm 31 years old, and that is too old for lawn. ;) :lol My husband isn't a DMB fan, and won't go with me unless I get reserved, thus the necessity for reserved seats. Thanks, though.
That's the exact same philosophy that my 29 year-old boyfriend has! Though he did say he'll deal with the lawn for night 2 of Gorge since I got reserved the 1st and 3rd.
I feel too old for the lawn, too, but I can deal with it the first night moreso than the second - there's less piss and puke on it the first night. :freak

Anybody staying at Bong have an extra spot at their site? We have 7 girls going and the site we reserved only holds 6...I went to reserve another site and there doesn't seem to be anymore available for Saturday night. I've been told that they enforce some kind of wrist-band thing, so we need to figure out what to do about our 7th person. We'll chip in to help pay the cost of part of your site and throw in a couple free shows if someone will let us "borrow" a spot from your site. Shoot me an IM if you can help us out! :D

Hi All:
Just wanted to give everyone a ticketing update. Night one for Alpine is getting pretty close to sold out at this point. There may be a few tickets released here and there, but for the most part all of our 35,300 tickets are sold for the Saturday show. Our website will show "Sold Out" on the events page once we are sure that all tickets are totally sold out and that no additional tickets will be released.
On the flip side, there are still quite a few tickets available for the Sunday show, so why not stay for an extra show! :)

you can get away with drinking at BFB if you're careful about it. we didn't drink last year because it was our first time staying there, but there were a group of guys right next to us who were drinking and not even being discreet about it. i'm not sure if i'll drink there this year, but i know that people got away with it last year.

If you only knew how tight the security was for the venue for DMB. I believe he is rivaled only by Jimmy Buffett in terms of his security. Very cool guys, but very, very strict indeed. Not only do the passes need to be the correct color to get backstage, but there is typically a two letter and two number code that switches for every show as well. So even if you have a pass from one show and go to another show that may have the same color, your code won't be the same. Even I need special credentials to get backstage on the day of a DMB show and I am the security manager for the venue!
On another note, a couple people asked for the coordinates to our theatre for their GPS navigation systems to use. I have posted those on the "Contact Us (http://www.alpinevalleymusic.com/contactus.asp)" page of the Alpine Valley website. Enjoy.

Brian

Camping on private property in Walworth County is prohibited by ordinance. Alpine does not allow nor do we have camping available. Please check out our website for the closest campground to the venue or go to www.reserveamerica.com (http://www.reserveamerica.com) for local state parks.

Alpine seems somewhat notorious for releasing random sets of seats on Ticketmaster up until the show date. Last year, a friend found 10 decent seats all together in 201 about a week and a half before the show. Is there an explanation for this? Would there be any reason to believe that this will change for this summer's DMB stand?
Thanks much-
ike.

ike.Hi:
Actually, it's not up to us (as a theatre) to release seats up until the show date. Usually there are groups of seats held for the label, artist, promoter, etc. and as those tickets are allocated to different people, they may have some left over. Once the final numbers are known, then any unused tickets are returned to the inventory for a given show.
Since these groups of tickets must be held before the public onsale date, the exact numbers needed are not known, so there it's a balance between making these tickets available to the general public and having enough to satisfy the demands of the artist, etc. So, while it is conceivable that there may be some tickets released here and there between now and the show date, I would not bank on it as we get better and better about holding as close to the exact amount needed for these interested parties each year. I hope that makes sense.
Regards,
Brian

Well, ours are all in the middle of the 200's so I know what you mean, but I guess you just have to look at it this way. You won't have to line up hours early to make a mad dash for a good spot on the lawn. You'll have a seat that's all your own and won't have to worry about some drunkard falling down the lawn and onto you. If you have to leave your seat for a beer/bathroom run, you'll actually be able to find it again. ( I can never seem to easily find my way back to a spot on the lawn.) Does any of this make you feel any better? :)

Exactly. We had lawn for Riverbend one year  and we spent a few hours in line waiting at the gate. I ran my ass off & was literally the first person on that lawn, and then we all just sat. And waited. And sat. Damn that lawn. :violent

Whoa! I wasn't implying harshness, I'm more than glad to do it, but the hard part is finding enough unique colors to differentiate everyone. I don't think you're pushy one bit. It'll be nice to have as people try to sort out the inevitable horse trading of pairs of tickets.

night 1 - lawn
night 2 - 101 Row F "uncovered" according to WH...i am assuming this means I am way on the left side and won't be able to see the stage....anyone who has been there know anything about that section?
I'm on the opposite side in 103 K "uncovered" for night 2. I was also wondering if I'll be able to see.

Hi All:
The ticketing website is not exactly correct on the seat numbers and locations. I am in the process of disciphering the Ticketmaster maps of the seats available and we will be doing a new seating map of the theatre for Alpine soon. In addition, once the weather warms up a bit and our winter roof repairs are done, we are going to be taking a ton of pictures and create an interactive seating map for the website that will allow you to mouseover certain rows and sections and actually see what your view of the stage is from the seats. It should be pretty cool and help everyone figure out exactly if their seats are good or bad. I would appreciate any feedback on this new feature and what you would find valuable, so if you have suggestions, drop me an e-mail at: brian@alpinestaff.com.
Thanks,
Brian, Security Manager
Alpine Valley Music Theatre
I know it hasnt been long but is there any update on the alpine seating charts/maps? The demand for the "where are my seats" and the question "are my seats any good" is huge right now. Just curious.

They are totally down for the partying atmosphere, it's a great place, trust me. We stayed there last year and had a blast, great sites for reserved and first come first serve area (larger open area, yet secluded). Give them a call or check out www.wisconsincampgrounds.com...they have decent facilities, and it's a really nice area on top of a big hill, you actually drive through the woods to get on top. Also, there is a lake at the foot of the hill where the "headquarters" is and pontoon rentals on some side of the lake.
Check it out...

its official, WEst river should be a seperate state than east river.
the wind here is awful, its humid, hella cold and hella hott.
everyday in teh winter, it was like 5-10 degrees colder than rapid + wind.
i miss rapid.

SOUTH Dakota sucks?
i believe you are wrong by 180degrees. Norht dakota is = Siberia
:D
And there is no way anyone can say the Black Hills suck. its alot better than the DFW area in texas. THe hills weather is very much like denvers. the only difference is we have hills and they have mountains.

it should be WEst Dakota and East Dakota
Yall can have all the people, but we get the good weather and the hills.

There will be no DMB shows this summer at SPAC.
Give it up. You look foolish hanging on to this false hope that DMB is coming to upstate NY.
F Alpine?
F you. We have a show date and time, confirmed tickets, opening acts, etc.
What you got? A rumor from a guy who's sister's boyfriend's cousin's roommate's best friend's brother who works in the parking lot says that DMb is coming?
From people that have attended both venues, Alpine is far superior in all aspects. Don't get pissed, y'all brought it upon yourself. I used to look at the "Official non-SPAC 2004" thread as amusing, but its become a travesty. Close it. There is no SPAC 2004. Get on with your lives.

There are more posts(WASTED BANDWITH) in the "official NON-spac 2004" thread than any other venue thread, and those are real concerts. I don't care if there is or isn't. Since the day that tour dates were announced, all I've seen is whining about "why DMb skipped SPAC", "NO SPAC?", "Ohmygod they're not coming to spac" The fans there sound like a bunch of whiny children that were not allowed to get a bomb pop off the ice-cream truck. And they continue to cry about it.
What are they discussing in the SPAC thread as of right now?
No Doubt.
I have a great idea. get everyone from the spac thread to converge on the venue for the 4th of july, and y'all can pretend there's a show. Since that's exactly what's happening right now.

I really don't think anyone has been whining about it lately. I think most of the posts have been people hoping that they come to SPAC. At first, sure, many people complained...and that's not surprising. If they didn't come to Alpine or the Gorge or another popular venue, those fans would do the same. And upstate NY has traditionally done pretty well with shows, so this was a change...when people are used to getting shows, and then they don't get them, don't expect people to sit back and be happy for those who did.
As for the rest of your post, I'm not exactly sure why you're so concerned with the content of that thread. I'm sure the admins appreciate the fact that you care a great deal about their bandwidth costs.
Look, here's the way it is. Ants has posted that: (1) the festival is in question, (2) if the festival doesn't go through, they'll still play that weekend, but (3) it won't be a festival. Plus, some guy posted a calendar of events at SPAC awhile back that proved to be partially valid, and it had DMB scheduled there for July 4th weekend. In other words, one way or another, we're getting more dates. If it isn't the festival (which right now, it looks like it may not be), it's most likely SPAC (consider calendar, the fact that they've played there years past, etc.). My point is that it isn't unreasonable for people to still have some hope.

no one has been whining, eh? that's the funniest thing i've read all morning. sure if the gorge or alpine got skipped people would most likely bitch and moan. i don't think that anyone would create a thread for those shows and keep hoping for a show though. i can almost guaruntee that if any other venue the size of SPAC that got skipped (ex. Polaris, StarLake, Antioch, etc), if people created a thread to whine and keep false hope with that, many people...including all you SPAC'ers, would be up in arms over that. besides, NY still has the Darien Lake show, they could have just skipped NY all together, so maybe you should be lucky you have one show. no one should ever be used to getting shows, because if the band wants to quit tomorrow, they could, it's their right. just like it's their right to pick where they want to play, not where we want them to play. eventually the band is going to start skipping certain venues for whatever reason, maybe 2004 is SPAC's year for that
