yea...I know this is the Alpine thread but the Gorge may be my new favorite venue....it lived up to it's hype and sounded alot better than I thought it would
the crowds energy at Alpine is better but the respectfulness (word?) of the crowd at the Gorge is better (probably due to the beer jail)....at times during some songs you could hear a pin drop because just the band was making noise
I sat next to the starter of this thread (Mdestmouse2003) Steve and dmb_41_sd (Tim) night 1 and they were in the campsite right across from us.....small world :ugh:

:thumbsup now you know why this was my fifth consecutive year going.....I loved the shows this past weekend...eventhough there were no real suprises, I heard all the songs I missed earlier in the tour :D and they jammed EVERYTHING. I love the more mature crowd the Gorge attracts and yes the fans are more respectful and quiet while the boys are peforming. Everyone that was part of the Alpine crew should plan on making the Gorge next year.
In other news.....I asked :angel Michelle to marry me on Saturday and she said yes.....

Congrats! WB shared the info with me via phone, but I wanted to put it out there:)!
I really hope to make it out next summer - I will focus on two trips next summer - Alpine and Gorge. I was telling Rachel all weekend how much I wanted to be there!
Oh well, lets just hope there is a DMB Summer Tour 05 - it would be nice if he visited Alpine early in the summer, and close the summer at Gorge again. I really enjoyed going to a shows at the beginning of tour, and the end, it was nice to see changes and hear some differnt songs!
Back to work!
Kohl center - here we come! 28 days and counting!

I have informed several of my touring companions that Alpine and Gorge are all I want to do next summer. I just have to figure out if I can spend 48 hours in the Jeep to get there and back. I'm pretty conditioned, but that's a lot of time to spend in a comfortable car, much less a bouncy, open Jeep. I'm contemplating a Cherokee as a second vehicle, though. We'll see. Airplanes are always an option, too.

Definitely a whole different feel at the Gorge than Alpine. In some ways better in other ways not. The view definitely can't be beat, that's for sure. The whole beer garden thing is kind of annoying though I agree that's what probably helps keep the dumbasses in line. Then again, maybe that's why the crowd (I feel) is way more intense and dancing at Alpine. Either way, definitely a place to see and worth returning!

There's always room at my place. I think Jamon & Michelle are crashing there, too. But I don't suspect we'll be in the room too much with sightseeing and waiting in line for the show.

Actually I don't think we are going to make the GGP show :( I made the decision today.
I really don't think the band can top what we saw this past weekend at the Gorge (amazing!!)......plus we have so much unpacking and organizing to do at our new place. This trip would be so easy for us to go on, but I figure the money we would spend out there can go to better use around our house. Plus the Broncos play the Chiefs here on Sunday night and now that football season is starting, it is time DMB take the back seat. I went to ten shows in 2004 and unless there is a winter tour I will resume in 2005. As you can see I have more reasons to stay than go.
Sorry Brain.....I was looking forward to hanging with you and Melissa again.
Crumbo, if you do go and need tickets I have two....otherwise they will just be my own personal memorabilia.

Here are a few bands, for full details, check out wookiefoot.com.
Wookie Foot, Big Wu :), Leftover Salmon, All Mighty Senators, Pleasure Pause and a few more acts. This show used to be a little bit better, but an OK line up. Did anyone get to check out Johan's AMAZING performance again? Can you say Cy Young boys and girls, try it: CY YOUNG!!! :D

It just flows off the tongue...Cy Young. It'll happen, he's pulling away from everyone eles in the league. I also see a World Series MVP for him this season(ala Jack Morris and Frank Viola). Optimistic? Yes. Unrealistic? No.
Speaking of Cy, it's the Iowa State Cyclones vs. Iowa Hawkeyes game on Saturday. Y'all may not understand it's significance, but it divides households around here. Bragging rights for a whole year are on the line. I'm going (Megan is coming too, all the way from Missouri) to Iowa City to get scalped for tickets, and hopefully not killed. They don't take kindly to Gophers and 'Clones fans there.

I can understand...my Rachel (my girlfriend) lives in Omaha, hence a lifelong Husker fan and her best friend went to ISU, so I have heard many interesting stories. This years Gophers Badgers game in Winconsin should be one of the hardest tickets in college football this year, but that is still 7 weeks away, a lot can change.
So, the reason I dropped in here today was because I was listing to night #1 on the way in to work (what's new) and once again realized how great the Typical into Warehouse was. I mean, the energy, the band, the crowd - everything. But, every time I listen to it, I get sad because it is the end of an AMAZING show, and at that point, I wantd the band to go for another hour. As much as I love Warehouse, he has to stop playing it to close shows, it just makes you want more, more, more!!!:D

Yes. But first there's the day of fasting while being in synagogue all day. Oh, and the repenting. But after all that fun it's mostly a big family get together (which, since I have no family in MN, usually means Eddie's or Aimee's) to eat and celebrate. Love to say I 'm in also, but I am going to NYC Oct 17 - 25, so another visit to the big apple is not likely - but I do have a ticket on Frontier Airlines, so I wouldn't mind going out to Denver to catch a show this winter!!! Otherwise, I will be limited to Target Center (or XCel -please Dave, play XCel).

When I rented my car in LA, i asked for a full size (Dodge Intrepid) but I was stuck with a minivan. Oh, well, I have not had time to check out all of the pics, but I look forward to to seeing the rest.
It is good to see ET has been busy, I really think we should look into renting one of those large inflatable ones, sneak it in, and then we could all find each other no problem!

in other news:
Who's Yo Daddy??>
The following are all replies that Dallas women have written on Child
Support Agency forms in the section for listing father's details:
These are genuine excerpts from the forms. Be sure to check out
number 11...........it takes the prize.
1. Regarding the identity of the father of my twins, child A was
fathered by Jim Munson. I am unsure as to the identity of the father of
child B, but I believe that he was conceived on the same night.
2. I am unsure as to the identity of the father of my child as I was
being sick out of a window when taken unexpectedly from behind. I can
provide you with a list of names of men that I think were at the party
if this helps.
3. I do not know the name of the father of my little girl. She was
conceived at a party at 3600 Grand Avenue where I had unprotected sex
with a man I met that night. I do remember that the sex was so good
that I
fainted. If you do manage to track down the father, can you send me his
phone number? Thanks.
4. I don't know the identity of the father of my daughter. He drives a BMW
that now has a hole made by my stiletto in one of the door panels.
Perhaps you can contact BMW service stations in this area and see if
he's had it
replaced.
5. I have never had sex with a man. I am awaiting a letter from the Pope
confirming that my son's conception was immaculate and that he is
Christ risen again.
6. I cannot tell you the name of child A's dad as he informs me that to do
so would blow his cover and that would have cataclysmic implications
for the
economy. I am torn between doing right by you and right by the
country. Please advise.
8. Peter Smith is the father of child A. If you do catch up with him,
can you ask him what he did with my AC/DC CDs?
9. From the dates it seems that my daughter was conceived at
Disney World; maybe it really is the Magic Kingdom.
10. So much about that night is a blur. The only thing that I remember for
sure is Delia Smith did a program about eggs earlier in the
evening.If I'd
have stayed in and watched more TV rather than going to the party
at 146
Miller Drive, mine might have remained unfertilized.
11. I am unsure as to the identity of the father of my baby, after all
when you eat a can of beans you can't be sure which one made you fart.

An Irishman, a Mexican and a Blonde Guy were doing construction work on scaffolding on the 20th floor of a building. They were eating lunch and the Irishman said, "Corned beef and cabbage! If I get corned beef and cabbage one more time for lunch, I'm going to jump off this building." The Mexican opened his lunch box and exclaimed, "Burritos again! If I get burritos one more time I'm going to jump off, too." The blond opened his lunch and said, Bologna again! If I get a bologna sandwich one more time, I'm jumping too." The next day, the Irishman opened his lunch box, saw corned beef and cabbage and jumped to his death. The Mexican opened his lunch, saw a burrito, and jumped, too. The blonde guy opened his lunch, saw the bologna and jumped to his death as well. At the funeral, the Irishman's wife was weeping. She said, "If I'd known how really tired he was of corned beef and cabbage, I never would have given it to him again!" The Mexican's wife also wept and said, "I could have given him tacos or enchiladas! I didn't realize he hated burritos so much." Everyone turned and stared at the blonde's wife. The blonde's wife said, "Don't look at me. He makes his own lunch.

Hey Crumbo - here is a heads up. Due to the wonderful construction (none of which is a new baseball or football stadium) the tailgating has been moved. There used to be about a four - five block long parking lot which is all ripped up, so, the Vikings have set up a parking lot on the backside of the Target Center (really close to the Quest) which is the designated tailgating lots (Rapid Park lot). There aren't many other locations to to tailgate at this time.
The tailgating always get interesting when the Bears fans come to town...it should be a sight to see.
Otherwise, have a safe trip up here - let me know if you need any other advice.
See you on Sunday!

It was the one where Milhouse gets the radioactive boy part. Milhouse goes missing and Bart checks the decrepit old Spirograph factory. A lone man plays with a Spirograph on a slanted desk.
Bart: Yo, Dr. S: have you seen Milhouse today?
Dr. S: No.
Bart: OK, thanks. [starts to leave]
Dr. S: Wait: did you know that there's a direct correlation between the decline of Spirograph and the rise in gang activity? Think about it.
Bart: I will. [walks off]
Dr. S: No you won't. [goes back to drawing]

I just don't get (you're all shocked, I'm sure) that whole rarity index thing. Too much math. I can barely keep up with my plain old stats. :o
It's actually easy.
Superfreak has a rarity of 4.54545. That means that it has been played at 4.54545% of the shows that have taken place since its debut date, pretty rare. (1 time played in 22 shows 1/22=4.54545)
Ants Marching has a raity index of 49.6149, which means it has been played at almost every other show since it was first played. Not rare at all.
So, according to the numbers if you go to 22 shows you should hear superfreak once, but if you go to two shows you'll hear Ants once.
Lower is rarer. A rarity index for a show is the average rarity index for all songs played.

Ok, I get it now. Matt I should have you explain everything to me because I always understand you! :)

I'd say that you should step up your ISO setting to 400 if you hadn't already. Also some people get better results from tleaving their flash on but covering it with tape. The camera utilizes a lower exposure time when the flash is on.

Aww, shucks. :o Thanks!
I guess we're happy because we saw one of those truly unique events. They will never play that song again, it's already one of the famous one-timers. It's not to be a 'leet, but some out there will say "I saw Superfreak, cock."

Not that I want to stop having these conversations, because they are the ones that make me laugh at work.
That RRFB show we saw kicked ass! I was listening on the way home from Omaha last night, and the encore (not the final jam) where they went into a couple of different songs (so refreshing) was awesome. I can remmeber the place just exploding as the song went on. It kept getting better, and better, and better...... :D
:thumbsup
I know this is probably a sensitive subject, but what are your thoughts about the Twins??
I am cheering for the Red Sox to break the curse.

I have not cheered for the Sox since 1986, when I was a fragile little boy, who loved baseball. I remember the Buckner error, and was cheering for the Mets, sort of. However, the team that brought me back to baseball (aside from the Twins who were miserable after the strike) was the Evil Empire. I don't know why, but at some point in 96, I really started to appreciate what they do, how they run the organization, etc. Also, there was nothing else about baseball to like. So, after this short explaination, I would have to say, GO YANKEES!
I was in NYC last year when Boone hit the game winning HR - and I will be there in one week again.
Yeah, it sucked losing to them again, but I know next year we will be back in the playoffs, and we will take down the Yanks or Sox.
Johan for CY YOUNG!!!
For the last time this year, Win Twins!
We have moved onto: SKOAL VIKINGS!

I think this is Boston's year and I am one of the fans that love to see the Yankees lose.....eventhough it doesn't happen that often
I think Johan will get his award based on how the experts feel. :thumbsup

Thanks :D! Can't wait to hear both shows...how did the Ames show tape? As soon as I was close to recovering, I went to Omaha and didn't get home until 2 AM last night! I am a little sick of this late night driving thing. :BANG Oh well, I will catch up on all of my work this week so I can go to NYC for a week or so...wish I could catch Dave out there (this is the first trip I have made in a while that doesn't involve DMB).
Hope business is going well. Talk to ya soon!
When is the Tesla show - I heard a radio ad, and was sad b/c I have to work that Friday night.

SKOAL is a Norweigen term (I think) that we use for the Vikings. It is in our fight song, and it is used instead of "go". That is the best I can do.
I can understand your view of the Yankees, and the whole "Boston's year" thing, one word - "curse".

 It didn't even occur to me that I might not get the Sundance channel! I'd better because I certainly don't have the technological capability to watch a webcast. *Picks up phone to call Comcast*
