Just when I was going to call you to see what you were donig tonight, and if you had the sundance channel.
ESPN can be scary....:lol
Yup - Channel 166. I'm going to DVR the whole thing during the rerun at 11:45 but I'll definitely be watching some parts of it live. (There's a new CSI Miami on tonight and I can't rack up more shows to be behind on because I still haven't watched the ER, NYPD Blue or Law & Order season premiers or ER from this past Thursday.) Man, I watch way too much TV! :freak

Here's a bad day: 72 yo adorable grandmother parks in a ramp at UofM to go to a continuing education class. At the exact same moment that she exits the ramp and steps onto the sidewalk a UofM student attempts suicide by jumping off the Transportation Safety Building (talk about irony!) next door. Student lands on Grandma, breaking a number of bones and ribs, contusions and concussion. Student is now vegetable. Can you believe that!?!

We all have strengths and weaknesses. My weaknesses include computers and geography. :o My strengths include making one hell of a bean dip and exhaling out my nose. :D Unfortunately the latter doesn't come in as handy as often as the former would. So sue me. :p

:lol Not the whole manual - I just use the handy little cheat sheet they provided, which was probably created specifically for people like me. :o
I've only had it for 2 weeks so I'm bound to get better.
One can only hope...
 That sucks.
No kidding! What are the odds!?! I see some freaky shit in this line of work but that's just nuts! I feel horrible for the parents of the student. They have a kid who's a vegetable. But, had he not landed on the Grandma he would've been dead. It's like, which is the worse of two terrible situations?

Hey, what's up y'all! Long time no see... Hope everyone's doing well.
Been crazy at work, so haven't been following along much lately. Almost had a couple extra Robert Randolph tickets to give away here a few weeks back, but got to use them at the last minute. Great show.
Did spend the past weekend in beautiful Austin, TX listening to tunes and getting generally pretty sloppy on Sixth Street three nights straight, along with watching the Sooners beat the Longhorns (again).
Heard on the news this morning that the band is settling the dumping case somehow. Don't know the details since I had to run out the door, but don't be surprised to hear if they have. As long as a benefit concert in Grant Park is part of the deal, I'm all for it!
Take care all.

This is loosely related to Alpine, but i've been for the last three years, and in 2002 and 2003 I noticed some fans wearing cool tye-dye t-shirts, with the band and tour dates on them and such. I'm guessing these aren't "official" shirts, but maybe i'm retarded...anyways, i was wondering if anyone knows where they came from and if I could possibly get one, I loved the designs
Just curious

I hope you got my text message. Once I got home and actually looked at my cable I realized the guy I spoke with on the phone was incorrect - I also have Sundance WEST. Regardless, they did broadcast the show, so I hope you caught it. I was actually asleep by the time it started so it recorded overnight for me. When I woke up this morning it was still on and I caught Ants as I was getting ready for work.
We recently got the NFL network added as part of my Comcast "Digital Silver" - whatever that means - package. I'd assume since it's the same company you can get something along those lines too. Good stuff. I love football!

• Boomer lifeline: During yesterday's media frenzy before the Vote for Change concert at MCI Center, CNN's Wolf Blitzer landed a last-minute interview with Dave Matthews and Boyd Tinsley of the Dave Matthews Band. Unfamiliar with the group's tunes -- at 56 he's the type who sings Peter, Paul and Mary around the office -- Blitzer dialed up his best source on the matter: his 23-year-old daughter, Ilana, an assistant beauty editor at Self magazine . "Quick -- sing some Dave Matthews lyrics to me," the anchor was overheard pleading.

1) Acquire a set of audio/video interconnects(a.k.a. RCA cables) in Red, White, and Yellow.
2) Hook Red, White, and Yellow cables from the OUT on your DVR to the IN on your VCR.
3) Set TV to channel(or input) you normally watch VCR tapes on.
R) Set VCR to input DVR is connected to(usually by hitting channel down while on channel 2)
%) Or hit channel down until you get the DVR picture on TV instead of VCR blue screen(sometimes you may have a button on the VCR remote that says INPUT)
@) Hit REC on VCR and PLAY on DVR
Specific brands and models would help me greatly. Feel free to call me if you get stuck, my cell number is still on Crumbo's double secret probation Alpine Site, and I occaisionally respond to PM's. If there is a mention of food in the title, that helps.

Hi all! Anybody catch my defense of the band by e-mail today on WLS radio in Chicago? Jay Marvin and Eileen Byrne were talking about a story about a mother who wouldn't allow her 16 year old daughter to go to Alpine (after tix were bought) because she found out DMB was playing Vote for Change.
I wrote in explaining that the Alpine shows were not Vote for Change shows (they were confused), that the Band wasn't partisan at the Alpine shows (just did voter registration) and basically that as a parent of a kid that age she should be more concerned about the use of various substances at those shows more than what they said onstage. Said I liked the band but just wouldn't go to the VFC shows because I didn't want my money going to MoveOn. They basically agreed the mother was overreacting.

I took the Jeep's sidesteps off a long time ago, all they do is catch on rocks/berms and get stuck where one otherwise wouldn't or they get pushed up into the sheetmetal, causing ocker damage. She can jump; I do. Plus, they looked stupid. Maybe I'll make a little rope ladder I can throw out for shorter passengers.

Hell yeah. I always throw some legal-ease in there to make it sound more intimidating, too.
:lol That only helps me if I too know what the legalese means!
Sometimes just the use of proper English does the trick.
Or big words like subsequent and notwithstanding.

TOP TEN THINGS THAT SOUND DIRTY, BUT IN A LAW FIRM, AREN'T:
10. Have you looked through her briefs?
9. He is one hard judge
8. Counselor, let's do it in chambers.
7. Her attorney withdrew at the last minute.
6. Is it a penal offense?
5. Better leave the handcuffs on.
4. For $200 an hour, she better be good!
3. Can you get him to drop his suit?
2. The judge gave her the stiffest one he could.
And the number 1 thing that sounds dirty but in law isn't:
1. Think you can get me off?
I suppose I could've posted that in the Legal Thread but I care more that the people in here laugh than I do about those guys. I'm such a bitch. :evil

Try being a Minnesota Sports fan. With the esception of the 87 & 91 Twins and Gopher Hockey, MN teams dangle hope in front of their fans and then crash spectacularly.
Twins: Last 3 years.
Vikings: 4 Superbowls, 0 wins. The last quest for the trophy was blown against Atlanta when Ol' Faithful Gary Anderson MISSED.
North Stars: Never got the Cup until they went to Dallas. Blew a good chance against the Pens in 91. Now Dallas can't advance in the playoffs.
Wild: Ok, they don't choke like the others, they just don't win.
Wolves: Sucked for years, made the playoffs with the strongest team yet, and they roll over to LA.
Gopher BBall: Finally makes it to the NCAAs after years of the NIT and a lowly secretary busts out her story about writing term papers.
Gopher Football: Has been known to finish 11th in the Big Ten. This year they have two of the best runningbacks in the whole NCAA and now can't win shit.
Every year, I get all excited that THIS year we're gonna win something big, and then they bomb. I'd rather they sucked all year long so I know.

Hey, someone has to remember. Even the staunchest republicans who called him a borderline socialist, always said good things about his commitment to his constituents. GUARANTEED TO MAKE YOU SMILE..... ESPECIALLY SINCE IT'S A TRUE STORY.
ON JULY 20, 1969, AS COMMANDER OF THE APOLLO 11 LUNAR MODULE, NEIL ARMSTRONG WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO SET FOOT ON THE MOON.
HIS FIRST WORDS AFTER STEPPING ON THE MOON, "THAT'S ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN, ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND," WERE TELEVISED TO EARTH AND HEARD BY MILLIONS.
BUT JUST BEFORE HE REENTERED THE LANDER, HE MADE THE ENIGMATIC REMARK "GOOD LUCK, MR. GORSKY."
MANY PEOPLE AT NASA THOUGH IT WAS A CASUAL REMARK CONCERNING SOME RIVAL SOVIET COSMONAUT.
HOWEVER, UPON CHECKING, THERE WAS NO GORSKY IN EITHER THE RUSSIAN OR AMERICAN SPACE PROGRAMS.
OVER THE YEARS MANY PEOPLE QUESTIONED ARMSTRONG AS TO WHAT THE "GOOD LUCK, MR. GORSKY... STATEMENT MEANT, BUT ARMSTRONG ALWAYS JUST SMILED.
ON JULY 5, 1995, IN TAMPA BAY, FLORIDA, WHILE ANSWERING QUESTIONS FOLLOWING A SPEECH, A REPORTER BROUGHT UP THE 26-YEAR-OLD QUESTION TO ARMSTRONG. THIS TIME HE FINALLY RESPONDED.
MR. GORSKY HAD DIED, SO NEIL ARMSTRONG FELT HE COULD ANSWER THE QUESTION.
IN 1938 WHEN HE WAS A KID IN A SMALL MIDWEST TOWN, HE WAS PLAYING BASEBALL WITH A FRIEND IN THE BACKYARD.
HIS FRIEND HIT THE BALL, WHICH LANDED IN HIS NEIGHBOR'S YARD BY THE BEDROOM WINDOWS.
HIS NEIGHBORS WERE MR. AND MRS. GORSKY.
AS HE LEANED DOWN TO PICK UP THE BALL, YOUNG ARMSTRONG HEARD MRS. GORSKY SHOUTING AT MR. GORSKY.
"SEX! YOU WANT SEX?! YOU'LL GET SEX WHEN THE KID NEXT DOOR WALKS ON THE MOON!"

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a
human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah."
The teacher asked, " What if Jonah went to hell?"
The little girl replied, "Then you ask him".

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary
school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples.
The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray: "Take only ONE. God is watching."
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a
large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, "Take

Sorry Eddie, I'm going to Maryville, Missouri this weekend to hang with Megan. They're having a big 'ol halloween party and I've been tasked to import the kegs from Iowa(MO has some weird keg registration law that we're skirting). I'm gonna do some for real bootlegging and not just the audio variety. Any of my legal guardians know the penalty for crossing state lines with 32 gallons of alcohol for the purposes of illicit distribution(possibly to minors)?
I am dressing up as a Ramsey County Sheriff's(:babe) Department Deputy. I have a full, authentic uniform.

Did I tell you guys that Kevin and I got a kitten? Well, technically Kevin got him - rescued him from a horse farm whose owner was "just going to drown all those damn barn cats" anyway. We named him Matza. He was light tan so when he was all curled up he really looked like a Matza ball! But then he died. :(

The preacher's Sunday sermon was "Forgive Your Enemies." He asked, "How many of the congregation have forgiven their enemies?"
About half held up their hands. He then went on to give his sermon, after which he then repeated his question. All responded, except one elderly lady. "Mrs. Jones, are you not willing to forgive your enemies?"
"I don't have any."
"Mrs. Jones, that is very unusual. How old Are you?
"Ninety-three." She replied. "Mrs. Jones, please come down in front and tell the congregation how a person cannot have an enemy in the world?"
The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle and said, "I outlived all those bitches."

TEN TOP INDICATORS THAT YOUR EMPLOYER HAS CHANGED TO A CHEAPER HMO:
(10) Your annual breast exam is done at Hooters.
(9) Directions to your doctor's office include "Take a left when you enter
the trailer park."
(8) The tongue depressors taste faintly of Fudgesicles.
(7) The only proctologist in the plan is "Gus" from Roto-Rooter.
(6) The only item listed under Preventative Care coverage is "An apple a
day."
(5) Your primary care physician is wearing the pants you gave to Goodwill
last month.
(4) "The patient is responsible for 200% of out of network charges," is not
a typographical error.
(3) The only expense covered 100% is "embalming."
(2) Your Prozac comes in different colors with little M's on them.........
AND THE NUMBER ONE SIGN YOU'VE JOINED A VERY CHEAP HMO:
(1) You ask for Viagra, and they give you two Popsicle sticks and duct
tape.

so anyway....as owners we have business cards with our name on it that allows a person 1 free tan when redeemed at any location....1 TIME USE ONLY!! :BANG
so this week some lady comes in with her whole family and has a stack of these cards from an owner from another store about 7 minutes from here....we tell her 1 TIME USE ONLY!! She says her husband is great friends with this other owner and she will use them however many times she wants and if she doesn't get to we will lose her business.....what business bitch....you are tanning for free :violent
so today she starts arguing with my manager with a waiting room full of people.....she calls the other owner and tells her to just give her a free session :twak
if this continues I'll make sure to pass out my cards to anyone in any area and you can all get free tans at any location forever :)

Jamon - Had a bit of deja vu Friday night. We were at a bar playing some pool when Melissa went to get some drinks. She comes back and says she ran into someone who looked very familiar. The other person had a nice shade of lip gloss. Turned out it was our waitress from Blyss. She's not working there anymore but said that we were the largest tab she ever had while she worked there. Go figure. :D

Jamon - how was the game? seats? club level? did you get a free massage, or shine your shoes or something like that? I mean, you should take full advantage of the "club level."
Edit: OK, so none of you are here? It is so lonely!

Not much here. We hope to quit some time this week. Moved some furniture around the new office this weekend and it's finally taking shape. Other than that, still trying to get stuff done for my current job.

The game was awesome. The club level was impressive to say the least. Carpeted floors, huge bars serving anything and everything, waitresses that come up to your seats to take your order, tons of tv's to watch all the morning games. These were the best seats I have ever had for a game and it was nice to see the Broncos dominate again.

Other than that, still trying to get stuff done for my current job.So do your bosses now know that you are starting a new law office? How do you keep that one from your boss? Are you branching out with some current co-workers, or outsiders? Just wondering...I have gone from job to job, but I have not started a new law firm.

Great to hear the club level there is up to standards. Even though the pretty people pay a little more for those seats, it is worth it!
Edit: So I need to figure out how to put two qutoes in the same reply.

My current boss does not know this is going down. My partner is also an associate her in my current office so it should be interesting when we decide to up and leave. We really can't tell him ahead of time b/c it would get really ugly (like it isn't either way) and he'd probably screw us out of money. So we're just hanging around here waiting on our loans and as soon as we close on one of them we are gone. It's too hard to try and tie down all the loose ends associated with this start up while your still working your regular job. We need to call it quits here so we can devote our time to actually pinning down those loose ends (bank accounts, malpractice insurance, computers, etc.). But hopefully that is this week. Thanks for all the well wishes.
