:lol Me too! Especially the natural ones.

I'll be honest, though. I really hate my boobs. Just too damn big and heavy and cause me backaches and I can't wear any of those cute little halter tops. I know you guys are probably thinking I'm nuts (as does my boyfriend) but you top-heavy ladies out there know what I'm talking about. They're just a pain.
yes, natural is ALWAYS the way to go...unless it's got batteries :lol

I hate mine too, they're a pain, I think I grew a cup size or something because none of my bras fit anymore, I've been the same damn size for like 7 years, I don't know why it would change now. :BANG

Did you switch birth control pills? That's usually the culprit.

I'm staying at Bong. Stayed there last year too...good times.
Where at- Sunrise? You're in Grand Forks!? Do you want to carpool and/or do you know anyone in need of a ticket to both nights? I have a pair of reserved night 1 lawn night 2 and an excellent bong site.

Oh for fun! I have ALWAYS wanted to go to one of those! None of my friends have the balls to do it and I just don't have the space in my apartment to host it. I'd probably spend waaaay to much $...worse than a trip to Target! ;)

Yes. :)
yeah no kidding, my friend who put on the party had maybe a dozen people there and her sales were like $700...that's a LOT of horny girls!! that and everything is so freaking expensive! (but well worth it ;)) I'd love to have a party sometime, I think as a host you get 10% of the sales to put towards your own purchase, so she esentially got her order for free. and yes Target rocks...everyone I know registers there for their wedding (as am I:lol)

Yep, I'm in sunrise. Carpooling probably won't work being we already have a full car going...actually two cars. (6 people...plus our stuff) No need of tickets here though...we're all set, but if I run into anyone who does I'll let ya know.

Not to worry. I have a couple lawns to get rid of. We had enough lawn seats for our whole group of 7 for N1 and then little by little were trying to work on getting pavilion seats. So as of right now I have three lawn seats I need to get rid of for night 1. So there's enough for everybody! :)

Either send me an email or a PM. I'll know for sure this weekend how many I have to get rid off. I have a trade that I'm supposed to make at the Chicago show, and I don't want to sell any more Alpine until I have the other tickets in my hand to replace them. So, I'll know what's going on for sure by the time I get home Sunday. :)

I think they mean warehouse prefered lawn seats which are supposedly roped off in the good part of the lawn? This is the assumption anyways.

If you want to all sit together that badly you'll probably end up having to trade down, get rid of your prefered and have the 4 of you move into the general lawn.

MelissaDMBfan
06-16-2004, 11:27 AM
If you have the warehouse prefered seating I would guess that you don't have to necessarily sit there. Its not likey are going to be checking everyones tickets in the lawn. Just sit wherever you want.

well damn that is interesting. I don't think I have never used the golden coat, or regular goat before. When I was about 6, a black one bit me at this petting zoo we went to. It scared the shit out of me, and hurt like hell. From that day on I have been terrified of goats.

I had an awesome view last year. Believe it or not, it was row CCC (very last row) of section 203, I think seats in the 90's, maybe higher. The view from back there was awesome. Could completely see the stage, and could even see the big video screens that hang on the edge of the roof. It was really nice, actually. Nothing to complain about.

This year, though, I might be straining my neck, hopefully not. (seats listed below).

I've been painting Jeep parts in my garage for the last 4 hours, and now I am loopy. I don't like it. My brain hurts.

Now I am sitting in front of my computer, playing the songs that pop up on the instant setlist, while looking at the aerial shot of Alpine, pretending I'm at a show. It's kinda working. For the new songs, I just play covers. Try it, you might like it. Remember, my head is twisted.

Hey, this isn't a 2-night stand so they could play it tomorrow. Look at how many repeats from one-nighters to the next there were last year. I just can't believe 3 new songs (so far).

It always takes a few listens for me to really get into a song. But Joy Ride... :D :thumbsup I did really like that one. Hello Again makes me think of that Lionel Ritchie song. :lol I'm glad to hear more of the funkier, more up-beat DMB. I wasn't really looking forward to another batch of melllllllow DMB songs.

I love it how people complain that we don't have new songs, but when 5 new songs were played last night its boring and repetitive. People, when was the last time DMB roadtested songs like this? I would guess that its been awhile since they have played this many new songs.

So just out of curiosity were you the asshole who decided to strike up conversations with people and then just start insulting them with your stupid video camera recording it all? Last time they roadtested new songs like this was in 2000 and I think that was one of their better tours. A lot of people are bitching about the setlists and I agree that the first two shows setlist wise have seemed a little stale, but the first shows are always more repetitive and have a lot of standard songs since they are just getting together again after a long break. I think by the time they hit Alpine they will be smoking.

Do you realize how many people in the lots have camcorders? I had a camcorder, but was not starting arguments with people, I was doing it to capture the event for the attendees and for my friends at home to get an idea of all that is Alpine. Apparently, 2 Live Crew is quite popular amongst the lesbian stripper population. Not only did they bring their own "Me So Horny Dancers," but there were many willing crowd participants eager to show their "talents." There were 3 flesh piles of grinding, scantily-clad females scattered around the stage. I had to leave before the encore, as I have an interview at 8:30 this morining. Good thing I have VIP status and don't have to pay for anything at this club, since the $10 admission and $4.25-$8.00 beverages would have prevented me from witnessing this display. Since it was free, I'm all about it.

I have to confirm with the others in my party (there's about 20 of us) that we are all going premier for N1. That decision should be made this week. No problem on the chatting. Actually, an engineer friend of mine was just out at the theatre this weekend doing a totally new survey of the pavilion and lawn areas. We have brand new disabled seating this year which required a new chart. Once we get his new map in about a week, we will take the pictures between Phish and Buffett and probably get it out there in mid-July. As the site webmaster for alpinevalleymusic.com as well, believe me, it will get done.

I'm not saying I don't enjoy going to concerts, because I do.....but I think there does get to be a point that it is a bit of overkill. I shouldn't talk because in a 1 year period, I saw DMB 5 times and D&T 1 time, but I've already told myself that the farthest I'd go for any concert is Chicago or maybe Minneapolis (because I have friend's in the area), or maybe the Gorge, if I can justify it at the time.

This summer, I've gone to see Rush and I'm seeing DMB at Alpine and OAR at Summerfest, and that's the fewest concerts I've been to in the past couple of years.

The deal is, there is other stuff I like doing with my entertainment budget....movies, sporting events, doing some drinking once in a while. That and the fact my girlfriend lives across the state in LaCrosse, I just need to keep my entertainment budget in check.....

I can picture that conversation with my mortgage company...."Um, I can't make this month's payment because I had to go see Dave Matthews Band at Deer Creek"

hey im brand new to this site. but have been a huge Dave fan for a couple of years now. unfortunately i wasn't able to 6/18 (tweeter) or 6/20+6/21 but i am DEFINITELY goin to either the 8/7 or 8/8. thing is i live in a small town called munster in Indiana that is about 25 miles from Chicago. if anyone out there can tell me how far alpine is away and maybe a good place to stay out there that would be very helpful. Thanks!

welcome to ants...it's 2 hours 21 minutes from munster to alpine...good luck finding some place to stay near alpine...your best bet is probably finding a place about 30 minutes away from alpine...

Hi:

Actually, an engineer friend of mine was just out at the theatre this weekend doing a totally new survey of the pavilion and lawn areas. We have brand new disabled seating this year which required a new chart. Once we get his new map in about a week, we will take the pictures between Phish and Buffett and probably get it out there in mid-July. As the site webmaster for alpinevalleymusic.com as well, believe me, it will get done.

Regards,
Brian
I'll 4th (if that's even possible) the appreciation for Brian. :)

Brian - hoping I'll run into you this weekend at Phish...I'll be looking for your Yellow ATV!!!

06-22-2004, 12:50 PM
Geez, I hope they keep repeating the new songs. I'm only going to 1 show, and I'd like to hear them! :)

I was explaining to my husband (a non-fan) about all of the whining and complaining going on regarding the setlists and he was just flabbergasted. The bitching seems to be at a new level this year.

bdb23
06-22-2004, 12:52 PM
Each year the bitching gets worse. It's particularly bad this year b/c of all the new songs. I guess we all got spoiled last year.

rapunzelchick
06-22-2004, 12:57 PM
It's so ironic. The years that there's no new album everyone bitches about the lack of new material!

My philosophy is to just be grateful that DMB even exists and that I'm lucky enough to be in a position to go to their shows!

mihighdavehead
06-22-2004, 12:58 PM
I don't mind the nightly new song repeats, because it makes for a better studio version in the end.
For example the 6/20 Thing(hmm) sounds different than the 6/18 version and has different lyrics.
I am having Tour 2000 flashbacks already when the lyrics, intros, and outros change nightly.

On 6/20 dave says something like "let's smoke this sweet spliff" which he didn't say in Chicago.

bdb23
06-22-2004, 12:58 PM
True.

crashintosabine
06-22-2004, 01:00 PM
I think that the current five new songs will stick around for a while, then maybe one or two will fade out and be replaced by two new-new songs. Every summer tour goes in phases, where songs will pop up for a stretch and then disappear. By the time Alpine rolls around, the tour will have taken on a completely different feel...different songs rotated in, some songs will have disappeared, new songs will probably have changed a bit by then...but that's just my $.02 :)

Okay. I've decided that "Thing" (or whatever it'll end up being called) is officially my favorite new song

I think once the fans are familiar with it and the lyrics get finalized it will become a serious high-energy-sing-along ala Ants, Jimi, Crush.

That, and it will definitely become my "spark one up" song! :D

i like Thing a lot...the 6/20 version is pretty cool...the mellow solos and all that...sweet song. I'm sure by the time alpine rolls around, the song will be more put together, since they're playing it a lot, and will sound even better, as all the new songs will. Alpine's gonna be better than past years...just a feeling.

I disagree. First of all the song has no structure at all except: some lyrics, solo, some more lyrics, solo....etc. No verse, chorus, bridge, anything.

This song has a LOOOOONNNGGG way to go before it's even close to being anything. Not to say it's a bad song, but I also don't think it will be a high energy sing along song, except for maybe the first line, like Say Goodbye, then people don't know the rest of the word, or Dave changes them, or something.

But personally, this song does nothing for me at all, at this stage in its deveopment I find it a bit boring and repetative.

Hey everybody, I have a few questions.

I think a friend and me are going to find two lawn tickets to the first show at Alpine on 8/7. A couple quick questions:

1) What is parking like at Alpine? Is a Premiere Parking pass worth the 20 bucks if you wanna jet out, or is it not too bad in the main lots?

2) I've heard so many good things about Alpine, especially about the lawn. If my friend and I get there when the doors open and get a spot at the front of the lawn, is it really kick-ass?

and last one, 3) I saw a diagram of Alpine Valley, and it looks like the entrance is behind the lawn. Am I insane, or is that how it works?

Thanks in advance, guys! I can't wait to experience DMB at the much-revered Alpine Valley.

bdb23
06-22-2004, 04:43 PM
1) Tailgating is a must. All the lots rock. (Premier and Yellow for sure) With premier you'll definitely get out quicker. The main lots take at least an hour to begin to move unless you're in the back.

2) The lawn is one of the best. Sound is great and they've got some pretty good screens for the show.

3) Yes, you enter from the lawn and go forward. Really cool visual your first time looking down the hill. Take it in slowly.

Welcome to the Alpine thread. :thumbsup
