... It amazes me how the band has tightened the new songs in just a month. They are really good now. The crowd does not all sit down or run for the beer tent when they come up.

A few notes: Tons of energy by the band and crowd. Well behaved crowd (compared to Hartford) I did not see the fights someone was referring to. I did not get pushed one time entering or leaving. Tweeter is a beautiful venue that ended up being easy to get out of - although Camden is a bit rough. The cops did a great job - nailed some guy who tried to drive through the crowd and almost hit us. I agree with people who say good good time should not be in the encore, but Billies saved it. I continue to be amazed with Carter - he must have 4 arms. Finally, I am not a fan of most opening acts, but N E R D was good. If you were up front you saw that Dave sat and watched the first 20 min of their set and Carter watched the last half.

Just some quick notes/my $.02:
I ended up at the back of the lower pav and people do still pour out for beer/bathroom during the new songs. I think they (new songs) have matured quite nicely already and I don't leave during them at all!! But lots still do.
Tweeter Center IS beautiful!! :thumbsup
In Htfd Dave, Carter and Leroi at one point or another stood around to watch N E R D. Very cool!!

I love waking up after a show and having 20 new pages of people that weren't at the show commenting on how much it sucked. Right.

Sara you are just too damn sweet! I am so glad that I got to meet you and Louis. He is a keeper, I have never seen a guy that showed so much caring and support!

I think this every time I see them but DAMN is Boyd ripped! I don't know if it's been posted anywhere or not but I heard that Carter injury is carpal tunnel. I don't like when they throw a new song in the encore, but oh well. Thought night 2 was better than night 1, but I was with a better crowd last night than night 1.

There was this guy from Atlanta next to me and he takes his 16 year old son all over the country to see DMB. This was their 30-something show and they have been going since the kid was 9. How Cute!

Ok few more comments but I lost my train of thought.

Did anyone else see the 2 buses with the police escort on the way out. The second was Roi. I don't know who was in the first bus. I cant believe that they got off stage into the bus so quickly! Roi was sitting towards the front of the bus with a big ass smile.

I was also pleasantly suprised that I made it back to the Philadelphia side by midnight. Last time I drove to Camden it took 2 1/2 to back out of our parking spot and another hour through the ghetto (thanks to the Camden cops that blocked off the other streets) to get home.

Night two's setlist was definately a extreme let down to night 1... I mean the only thing I would have been psyched for would have been Seek Up and Billies... the rest of the setlist was just subpar... compared to night 1.... I hate how they do things like this...

Ha ha - so many people keep thinking they are going to get the first Seek Up of 2004, yet it never shows up.
Arrrghhh!!!! :BANG

You lucky bunch!!! I'm sooooo jealous! Looked like an awesome setlist - can't wait to hear this show. Did anyone notice any tapers racks really close to the speakers?

Why shouldnt we be able to judge unless we are there? The songs are played the same every single time, we've all heard them before
That is one of the biggest phallacies I've ever read on these boards, not to mention one of the most unenlightened.

From where I was on night 1 (lawn to the left) I could only see one and it was near the stage. Last night I was in seats to the right of the stage and I could see two and one was near the front center and one was to the side and maybe a quarter of the way up the reserved seating. As to where the speakers are I have no frickin idea. Sorry.

How can you say this...are you that easy to please that you would blindly accept anything they do? This is the reason for the repetitive setlists this year, because even people who consider themselves diehard fans are content to listen to the same songs every night.
How can YOU say this...are you that unfamiliar with everything else that goes on at a DMB show? The fellowship, meeting other fans from all over the country, tailgating, this is the reason for the repetitive concert-going that happens in the DMB community. People who consider themselves diehard fans ARE content to see the band work on songs through different shows the same way we saw the band grow the Lillywhite songs into Busted Stuff through the 2000-2001 tours.
The same songs every night? You must be thinking of Def Leppard or Nine Inch Nails. They play the same songs every night. Some people have seen Seek Up now this tour, some have seen Lie In Our Graves, some have seen the new songs every night. If you think they play the same songs every night then I can only suggest going to one date every tour.
PS - opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

well, it was a great concert! i called the stone- it was the one song i wanted to hear last night. i thought that seek up wasnt quite as good as hershey last year, but i can't complain, 2 seek up in the first 3 shows i've gone to. By far the highlight of the night was jimi thing. i havent ever heard a better version- it was better than CP. dave did a guitar solo, which was great, then, he scatted- best scat i've heard, and then they did the buffalo springfield 'for what its worth" interpolation. overall, really great concert, but im having trouble with sugar will being played, and good good time in the encore.

After both Htfd shows the (4) buses split DAMN fast!!! I mean they were out QUICK!!! So last night's quick exit of 2 didn't surprise me. I was surprised to hear the police escort. We looked at each other like, are those sirens an escort out... could it be...

We were concerned about traffic b/c of what everyone was saying so for the 1st time ever I left before the lights came on (during Billies). Dreading the loooong ride back to CT, but we were on the highway in literally 2 or 3 minutes. :D

HAHA, no I'm blindly accepting anything, I just don't feel the need to criticize as much as some do... call me what you want, I just don't think they could ever put on a shitty show because I believe them to be fucking amazing all the way around no matter what happens or what songs they play...i f that makes me "not a diehard fan" in your eyes then so be it, I could care less. DMB has given me so much it's unreal. SURE there are songs I'd rather hear than others but I'm not going to bitch about it because they can play whatever they want and I'll smile, dance, sing, and laugh the whole way through

I can't believe how everyone says that last night sucked except for those who were there. It was such a great show and I was satisfied with the setlist. I think y'all are too critical. They have to do this crap night in and night out. They're allowed to have a semi-decent show. Jeez.

But, I'm glad that I got to see some of you there last night. Although my feet are killing me and I decided NOT to go to work today, I had a wonderful time. Except for the dude puking on the way out, that wasn't cool. The only thing I will say about where I was sitting was that there were tall people in front of me.

Well getting a ticket was not that easy. What hurt the worst is when i got back to work today and somone needed a seat partner for row 20! I waited at the box office for like 5 hours and then they released at the VIP window! But some kid who didn't have a second for his buddy sold me his lawn. All in all it was a good end to my summer of Dave.

thats cause we love the band no matter what. if you need them to play more songs, better songs, less of this album, and more of that one, i guess the person who enjoys every song they see is the more die-hard fan, huh. the people who can just complain about what songs they do, apparently don't like the band as much as they thought!

drive, seek up, crush and stone back to back, badass jimi, badass water, badass what?, billies closer...........yeah, sub-par.

plus i like every new song...........every single one............how dare i like those.

i was dead center in the lawn, halfway up the slope, right where i always chill, and the crowd was into just about everything. very loud, and very pleasant. the one song that got a lame reaction was seekup, but i expected that, i'm sooo glad i've seen it now though!

. SURE there are songs I'd rather hear than others but I'm not going to bitch about it because they can play whatever they want and I'll smile, dance, sing, and laugh the whole way through My feelings exactly. Hearing DDTW and Jimi Thing made it all worthwhile. They could have played the acordian for an hour straight after that and I wouldn't have cared. I think a lot of people got turned off when they saw the WTWE>Sugar Will and the good, good time encore. I think we should make a rule that unless you actually go to a show you should shut your mouth and worry about more important things then sitting by your computer and watching setlists from shows you didn't go to. If you take out the sugar will>WTWE and cut the good good time this concert is a 10 in my book. Dave was goin nuts the whole night and when he went off after WWYS he looked like he just took a dip in a swimming pool.

were you sitting in the pit on leroi's side of the stage? if so i know who you are talking about. those girls were doing all kinds of girly things.

also did anyone see carter pop some pills after fool to think (i'm assuming it was tylenol or something). the boys were walking around on stage and carter reached in his pocket, took something out and popped it in his mouth then washed it down with some water. i assumed it was for his wrist, poor guy. his performance sure doesn't show he's in pain.

personal highlights of the show: a rare dave guitar solo at the end of jimi thing, although brief and nothing spectacular it was good to see.
his scat was extremely animated
seek up sounded terrific, good wails at the end
leroi seemed to be on all night

i was at both nights and my gf and i agreed night 2 was leaps better than the first night. although i could have done without a few of the songs and would have rather seen two step or bowa or something thrown in, the energy and stage performance and overall show was better last night. night 1's sugar will was way too drawn out and the jam in the middle of liog was good at first but again drawn out.

also to the guy asking about any tapers, there was a taper at the end of my row (8th row) directly in front of the speakers, in perfect line with them. he actually came up to the people in those seats before the show started to switch seats b/c i guess that was exactly where he wanted to sit. i'd imagine he got a great pull of the show.

If you are talking about the guy on Stefan's side, I talked to him before the show. He told me he just gives copies of it to friends and it doesn't get downloaded. I'm not sure how true that is. Anyway, his microphone was facing the audience the entire show. Now, there was someone about 10 rows behind him who looked like they had a much better setup, but he was almost 20 rows from the stack. Thoma was on the other side, about 12 rows from the left stack. His pull is up now but I haven't started it yet. I'll start it before bed tonight.

I didn't notice that, but I was in the pit and noticed Dave take something early in the show, maybe after Grey Street. He had something sitting on the left corner of the of the platform Carter sits on. He put whatever it was in his mouth, then took a swing from that mug he always has.

also to the guy asking about any tapers, there was a taper at the end of my row (8th row) directly in front of the speakers, in perfect line with them. he actually came up to the people in those seats before the show started to switch seats b/c i guess that was exactly where he wanted to sit. i'd imagine he got a great pull of the show.

Yeah, I was in the pit. I was Row 6 on Leroi's side. And I saw that taper guy too, and I felt bad. Here he is, going to have a great tape of the show, with those girls ruining it.

Oh, and that ferry was a fucking nightmare.

both shows 20 and 21 were f'n amazing. but the verizon phone problem, big deal, i waited in the parking lot til 1am for my friends and they never showed up... i think they're still there :x

how cool was dave scatting and soloing? how amazing was butch in like every song? and how sexy is boyd in his see through shirt that he always wears to camden? (if only it was a joke)... one his best stops in philly/camden, even if my cell phone sucked :o)

Last nights show was amazing, complety and utterly amazing. It was the best concer that I've ever been to. I couldn't ask for a better for my first show, Grey Street, Drive In Drive Out, Seek Up, Crush, Jimi Thing, Don't Drink The Water, If I Had It All and closing with Tripping Billies. Amazing, just amazing. I also had that same problem with my cell phone, I have Verzion and was not able to make a call out to save my life. I can't wait for my next DMB show, sadly I won't be able to hit up anymore this summer, 'cuz Cincy is sold out and that is the only one I could get to. I'll just have to wait for the next tour sadly.

Any one else there enjoy N*E*R*D besides me? I think I was the only fan, lol. As I can tell on the lawn, I was the only one who knew the words to there songs (or, wearing a N*E*R*D shirt). I thought they were good maybe not a good opener for Dave and better on disc but I still enjoyed there set.

I sat on the lawn, and it was better than I was expecting, I didn't think I'd be able to see anything but I had a good view, I've been to a hell of alot of concerts and never sat Lawn, but I'd do it agian. It was fun to dance around out there, lol. I wish I would have been with a diffrent friend. The one I was with was freaking out because they people around us were smoking. Neither of us smoke and I was telling him just to calm down and eveything will be okay. But. no we had to move to please him. What an idoit, that is the first and last time he'll see Dave with me.

Also, I don't really know how the trading policy and what not goes for shows but I would really like to have this show 'cuz it was my first DMB show and was wondering if any one could help me out? Hit me on AIM if you want, TMS2787. Thanks in advance.

Last night was great, seeing DMB is ALWAYS great. Was it the best dmb concert I've ever been to? No, and its because this show had the weakest opening/show closing/encore songs of any shows i've heard or been to. When they opened with Fool to Think I was like "whhaaaaa???"....definitely not a good opening song for me. And then WWYS as a closer was just pretty standard really. Billies to close the encore was also fairly standard, and for some reason they play this at every show i go to! Of the Camden shows I've attended, they closed with Billies all 3 times.

Now, it was the middle of this set that was awesome. Dave had alot of energy going and really belted out some loud vocals as evidenced by the tremendous veins in his neck on the jumbotron. The highlight of this show for me was SEEEEK UP!!!!! I had hopes going into this show that they might play it but i wasn't counting on it so I was very pleasantly surprised. One thing that irked me during Seek Up was the fact that some big ball was bouncing around the crowd up towards the stage and you could tell dave and boyd especially were keeping their eyes on it. I dunno, but to me, I go to a concert to see the greatest band on the planet play, not to bounce a ball around during F*&#ing SEEK UP!

Boyd put on a great show with the dancing and flailing dreads. Overall, as always, i am overall very happy with my experience.

If there was anything I'd change (aside from choice of opening/closing songs) it would be to get rid of Help Myself and If I Had It All...these two songs are pretty stale to me by now.

Oh, and I love all of the new songs! I'm really looking forward to the next album.

Great shows! Great time! Didn't care much for Fool To Think opener the second night. To the asshole the first show in section 104, row Y, a Big FUCK YOU! You drunken asshole. Had an awesome crowd the second night in sec. 200, row M.
The fairy was indeed a night mare. But still better than waiting in shit ass Camden.
The first night the line for the fairy going over to Camden was so long. My girlfriend and I took a cab over. Not sure if it was faster, but it sure seemed like it.

You guys are insane... This is a forum, Why should there be a rule that unless you went to the show you can't talk about it? And why the fuck are you making fun of people that sit at home and watch Set's they aren't really watching in concert, Patrickdrip? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I've been watching the DMB setlists ever since I became a fan, and I think it's the most exciting thing next to actually getting inside a show. Not everyone that watches the setlists disses the shows, Some ppl that actually went said it sucked. I went, and I think both nites were a lot of fun and a good performance by the boys... But fuck you, Even if I didn't go I'd talk about the setlist right in here. Shiiiit, I made this thread :)

I found this funny

I found a couple things funny that I overheard...

(Sugar Will starts)
Guy 1: All right! Seek Up!
Guy 2: No, this is one of the new songs.
Guy 1: I don't think this is new.
Guy 2: Yes it is. It's called Sugar Will.
Guy 3: I think this is off Remember Two Things.

Also...

Girl: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! THE STONE! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'RE PLAYING IT! THEY NEVER PLAY IT!

And...

Same Girl: YESSSSSSSSSSSS! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! JOY RIDE! OOOOOOOO!

The two girls next to me arguing about who wrote Watchtower (one said Hendrix, the other said Eric Clapton) was pretty funny too.

The ferry was a damn mess. That's all I have to say. Still, it beats waiting in the lot.

I'm gonna have to disagree here. I parked for night 1, took the ferry for night 2. Both nights I had to drive people home before going home myself, and I'll sum it up this way, Tuesday night I arrived back at my house at 12:30, Wednesday night it was nearly 2 AM. I WILL NEVER TAKE THAT DAMN FERRY AGAIN. :BANG

You might've been in the same section as me (203). There was some kind of debate going on about Watchtower (I heard Hendrix's name, but not Clapton's, so you may have been somewhere completely different) but there was one girl behind me who, at every song, was yelling "I KNEW HE WAS GONNA PLAY THIS F*ING SONG!!!" :twak

Here's responses to all 3 posts...

1. Our floor was pretty clean. We were on the 8th floor. Originally, we were on the 5th floor where they were shampooing stuff, but they forgot about the room while cleaning and there was no bed (oops!).

2. We parked in the lot last year and stayed in Camden (well, right outside of Camden). We were stuck in the lot until about 2. This year, we stayed in Philly and took the ferry. We got back to the room around 12. I don't know if the lot was run differently this year, but last year it was bad (at least for me). Still, there doesn't seem to be a "really fast way" out of the Tweeter Center.

3. Night one we were in 200 and night 2 we were in 204. I would hate to think silly Watchtower debates were going on all over the Pavillion. The one girl was very convinced that Eric Clapton wrote it though.

We parked in the lot last year and stayed in Camden (well, right outside of Camden).

Which lot were you parked in, the one right outside the Tweeter Center or one of the ones back by the warehouses about 3 blocks away? Cause I always park by the warehouses and it's never taken me more than a half hour to get outta there.

I don't recall too well, because we kind of get swept along with the current of vehicles. I think it was closer to the Tweeter Center itself, or near the Aquarium. Whichever it was, it was a nightmare. Still, taking the ferry meant that I didn't have to drive for two days, so I was happy about that.

Did anyone else read the planned setlist for night 2 on dmbalmanac.com?

Apparantly, Rapunzel was to come after WWYS and close the set and the encore was supposed to be Grace and Billies.

I guess they had to cut Rapunzel since the songs they played (cough Seek Up cough cough Jimi) were so long. As for giving Grace the boot, I'm assuming they just didn't feel like playing Grace.

I'm still happy with what we got. I haven't had a WWYS closer since my first show and the encore with Good Good Time was very nice.

crap on the Giants!!! :D
and I hope to be going to SF... I'm heartbroken that there's no more GA tix and my credit card isn't here yet and that I'm going to spend $250+ flight +whatever else now.. but it'll all be worth it cause I am determined to be at this show cause I wanna see them one last time this tour and I know it's going to be one hell of a concert... and $250 is well spent cash if it goes to a good cause.
ARE YOU GOING?

I would like to go to SF. I am still trying to figure out the details with school and work and finding someone to go with. Christ knows how difficult that will be...my boring ass friends wouldn't even get motivated enough to cross the damn bridge into Camden so getting them all the way to SF might be a miracle.

Well I went to Camden alone, thanks to all the ants had a great time! this tour is so addicting at first I was only supposed to go to to SPAC, then I had to go to Hartford, and of course only a miricle got me to Camden. I entered the Budwiser contest to go to San Fran. But in all reality Camden was my last stop, and what a great one it was!!

Been so tired, throw away my surrounding
Like the sun and moon take for granted
Soon we move through the flood and we fade away

Lie about it,
Cry about it,
We'll be ok

Lean upon me,
I'll lean upon you,
We'll be okay

Oh, I lay myself at your feet laughing
Hope mine eye made of the soul choir

Lean upon me,
I'll lean upon you,
We'll be okay

Lie about it,
Cry about it,
Soon fade away

Lie about it,

We'll be okay

Lean upon me,

I couldn't decide which of your posts to quote...

How was coke an accident?

Why did you decide not to do viagara? I have heard that it's quite the experience. To be honest I am sorta curious about it (by that I mean sleeping with a guy that took it not me personally taking it), but what kind of side effects are there?

I would definitely go with you. I'm still waiting for my credit card to come so I can spend $250 on a V.I.P. ticket (and flight) cause that's all that's left, but seriously, I would so go w/ you. I just hope that by the time it comes there are some left. I know it's a lot more loot but let me know!!!!!! It's kinda scary to think I'm most likely going to end up going alone, but I don't even care... it will be worth it.

and p.s. Sara, if by some grace of God I get out there, I will definitely call you and hold the phone up.
