July is TOO far! How many ants are going to the Tweeter Center this year? Last summer we got one of the highest ratings of ants at a show. It's always a fun time. I'm just upset to hear that the rumored 3 nights in Camden isn't true. We still get 2 amazing nights though so it's still awesome. It's pretty far from now, but i hope to see many ants this summer. last year was crazy with an amazing set the 2nd nite.

JULY NEEDS TO COME QUICKER!!!

Man, Camden and Gorge in one year, does it get any better?Hell yea man! I'm trying to get out to the Gorge this year. I love shows in Camden, traffic is the worst though. It's worth it though, to sit in your car with locked doors, knowing you'll see an amazing show after you chill in the lots for a bit.

It's rough over the Ben Franklin. When I was living in Philly, I used to take PATCO over.

With the fun of walking through Camden to get to the venue, how could you not love it?

lol that sounds rough coming from PA. Actually, i'm coming from PA too.. But i'm from NJ so i'm usually already there at my grandmoms house or a friends house before I go to the show. So i just take route 130 down to Camden. It's fun blasting DMB on my cd player as we're waiting in traffic. it's funny.

Camden is a dump! I reccomend taking the ferry over from Penns Landing. It sure is, if you don't mind driving over the bridge though from PA it's safe to drive through. Once you drive over the bridge it's not far at all to drive to the Tweeter center. There's actually an exit for it right off the bridge.

The only downside to taking the ferry is missing all the fun in the parking lots. Last year I did both and I have to side with the tailgating scene. Absolutely out of control, there were tanks everywhere and plenty of partying. Camden is a slum city though and traffic does suck out of the lots.

It's so much easier getting the hell out once you return on the ferry. Plus all the riff raff hangs out in Camden, the younger kids littering all over the place, bums begging, the vietnam vets with their thing, "this is party patrol and you've been partying too much, you need to donate money and you'll get these way cool stickers" Piss off!

FPrefect61

The tailgating in Camden is awesome, probably the best tailgating I've ever been to.

Then again, we had somewhere around 20-25 people partying with us.

i'll be at both. possibly my only shows, unless they add some dates. it will be a little strange though, because last summer(9/5) i was there, chillin on the lawn, then i went for MOE.(new years eve), and the place was all small closed up and stuff. it does make for an intimate experiance though. back on topic-----7.20/21.04 will kick ass.
even with 9.5, 9.13, 9.24, 12.15, and 12.17 in 2003, i think this year will be incredible!!!

I've never been to Philly. I've never really driven in too many cities besides Hartford and some other smaller ones in CT. If I went I'd just leave by like 12 PM for the 3 hour drive. That way I might be able to beat the traffice. By the sounds of Camden I might need to bring my fake rubber knife.

lol Yeah getting lost in Camden is the worst. My first show in Camden, my friends mom drove us up there.. (We were 15). One of the main roads home were closed, So we had to figure our way out. She was asking us for directions lol. We ended up on back streets, we found a cop and pulled over. Then about 10 black people swarmed around our car and started sweet talking the cop. I came close to crying hahaha.

Kyle - Have you ever been on the Pennsylvania Turnpike? lol. If so it's still easy to find the way to the Waterfront.

Not as much tailgating going on, but I don't care. People still do. Just isn't as crowded. So much easier to get out. Leaving Camden is such a pain. They always have the roads closed that I want to take. And the last ferry usually leaves 1/2 hour after the concert ends. Believe me, well worth it. $4.00 round trip.

Note: If you park in the lot closest to Cambelle's field, traffic won't be THAT bad. i do it every summer and we usually get out quick.

There's seats inside the theater, and behind them is a huge lawn. There might be a sketch of it on the official tweeter center website. Go on ticketmaster.com to look at the map. I never got seat tickets, but i was snuck inside to around front row by one of the people working the Pit. It was awesome inside. the lawn is always fun though.

Blackwood, NJ here...

Yeah getting out of there and even getting to the Tweeter can be a PITA. What we usually do is just admit it, live with it and sort of tailgate AFTER the show as well. Before you know it, the parking lot has cleared out and it's an easy ride home. :)

My friend and I really want to bring our guitars to sort of play and get in the mood before the show. The only problem is their security during the concert. Last year, we had a cooler of beer stolen from my friend's pickup truck that was under a bed covery and bunge corded in. We'd only bring our beater guitars (Martin DX-1 and Taylor Big Baby), but still, I'd be nervous bringing them. :(

What have you guys experienced?

Some black guys tried stealing my friends money... It wasn't cool. I think they got away with it too, I was in the show and they called me to let me know what happend. Most of the black guys or white guys selling stuff on the streets are cool, but there are some dicks that try to take advantage of the fans at concerts. It sucks.

My story was not about being ripped off, but I know where you are coming from...Yeah, this will be my third year going there...no one told me Camden was so ghetto, and I live in Jersey, 25 minutes away from Newark! The first year, me and my fiancee didn't want to pay for the parking, so we parked in the street and hung out in the car for four hours, drinking and talking. It was so fucking hot!!! We were right by the jail, and everyone getting out kept asking us for cigarettes, which was funny, cause we don't smoke. But after the show, when we went to empty our cooler, we had one corona left, and as a gesture of good faith, we gave it to some homeless lady. She was quite appreciative. That was our first road trip for DMB. i'll be there this year. To stay there, your best bet is to go in groups and get the group rates at motels. Do like Windsor POST TAILGATE, the traffic is a bitch!!! Stay in outlaying towns, the only setback is you need to leave earlier to get to the shows, but half of us are in the lots at 12 anyways! If anyone needs to hole up with someone, let me know, i'll see what I can do. Se ya there!:angel

Yeah, hanging out after the show ain't all that bad at all. You get to talk about the show with your friends and relive it... I mean, unless you follow the whole tour, this only happens once a year, so you may as well enjoy it while it lasts. :)

Oh yea, Don't worry about tix Bartender... Camden, Nj tix are always available... Even when they're "Sold Out" but hopefully i don't jynx us all with that statement this summer. *Knocks on Wood because i'm not getting my tickets until this summer*

Yeah, my CP tix were an anniversay present... so I forfited D+F in turn, cause he spent the 250 each so I could be front row. Totally worth it though. I know, this is my first break in the set since I started seeing them too... *falls over in withdrawal, curls into fetal position*;) They gotta make it up with these shows! yougoing to both nights? How bout the festival?

i'll be in the reserved seating... i have epilepsy, so I get handicapped seats... but if I am feeling brave, or having a "good" week, I will probably try to put in some lawn time, only because I love the free atmosphere and roaming... Maybe i'll catch ya... and of course, there is always the parking lot!;) :)

All you need is a letter from your Dr. I have seizures, so i need to make sure that I have enough room on the floor in case. Sometimes it works out well, I got upgraded to front row at Continental Airlines Arena last year, but In Camden, the handicapped seats are kinda far away from the stage. Plus, like I said, I like to be able to move around. Knowing how drunk some folks can get, I could have a seizure on the lawn and just get trampled, but things are looking up for me lately. :thumbsup I do get the good parking though, so you can find me there. Makes you closer when you need to get on the lawn, if you want to get good seats.;)

I have been trying to get my brother to come for year to a show with me using that smae excuse. I tell him he will meet the nicest potheads he can imagine, he said he might come to the festival with me, I hope he does, that would kick ass! And it is funny, cause I don't smoke either.:lol

A lot of my friends like DMB... I go to shows alone sometimes though if I have to.. Actually, I only went to 9/11 alone. It was a lot of fun. I'll be waking up at 7-8 A.M. on Saturday and driving to the ticketmaster at "Giant Eagle" 25 mins away and buying my tickets... I can't wait until I have them. They always say the shows are sold out, but alwaaays sell tickets at the booth the day of the show. Don't rely on that source for tickets though, just in case...

Then consider yourself lucky... I don't have ONE friend who is a DMB fan. If it wasn't for my fiancee, I'd be taking the train to all my shows! But a lot of that has to do with the fact that I live in a really urban area, go figure. That's why I am always so eager to meet other people at the shows, I don't have anyone around here to talk to about DMB!!!:lol P.S. I really hope you get your tix Mike!
