These shows will be number 24 and 25 for me, reaching the quarter century mark-wow. Hope we get something special. Didn't Fonzi meet his finance in Hartford? Really starting to get excited for these shows. I am literally going to walk out of work and crack a beer in out lot which is right across from Jai-Lai.

I tailgate there too, ever since i saw a kid get his ass kicked and a couple bottles smashed over his head in the main parking lot I stopped tailgating there, there is no need for that kind of stuff at a dave concert.

Yeah going to both nights. However night 1 i will be taking my parents to their first show, so no tailgating then. Night 2 also taking an older friend who wouldn't be into tailgating. maybe i'll see you around though

If you call this # 860-548-7370 for the Meadows, they will give you all info.
I called, and the lady said that there is a curfew of 11, she said in the past they have extended it past that on Friday and Saturdays, but she doesnt know for sure what they are doing this year yet, said she will have all the paperwork on Wed or Thursday as far as exact times
And for Friday NERD will be on at 7 as the ticket states the start time is and 8 for Saturday (usually approx start times, but they wont be on before that)

This is the idea we're going for. Please Please Please look for us selling bubbles. I think we could make a really neat impact in the show with lots of people blowing bubbles. We'll be selling concert bubbles $2 a bottle or 3 for $5. Look for us, we'll be cruising the parking lots!!!!

you should be able to know early morning the day of the show by seeing what time the road page lists the show as starting.

In recent years (with the exception of last year :mad: ) I was able to park in the "small" lot just across the side street from the Expo Center, on the hill (up against the road). It was a cool place for SUVs. You can see all the action and get out quick. AND it's just a stroll to the Meadows or back into the bigger Jai Alai lots!

Ya mean over the bridge somewhere right? I parked over there once and the walk afterwards sucked! Just my $.02. I stay until the house lights are ON! No missing a 2nd (RARE) encore for me! And by the time I get back over there traffic sucks!
I prefer in/near/around the Expo Center cuz it's close enough that 80% of people who stop for 11:30 hot dogs and drinks are still milling around when I get in my car to take off.

^^referring to the lots up behind the Expo Center right? I believe they are still free, yes. Grill, drinks, some kind of chairs, other fun shiot... like a nerf football. I advise strongly against the frisbee!!! People drinking and throwing frisbees can decapitate innocent bystanders!!!

We go to the Meadows every year also! The boys always sound amazing there!! (I know, I know, last year was not the best year!)
Count on them concentrating on the new songs. We drove to Hershey this past weekend and was it ever worth the 5 hour drive!! The new songs kick ass and sound better and better with each show that they are played at! :)

I never thought the band could sound better than last years tour but, these guys get better with age (he! he!) :lol

Holy crap, now that is what I call a memory! I am still in the towers but I am moving to Arlington in a few weeks so this might be my last Meadows shows for awhile but I am going to try like hell to get back for the shows here in future years. I vaguely recall talking to you sometime on IM, I saw the name and I thought I recognized it. I have waffled on just about every other show (of course I went to them all) than the Meadows ones so that might be what you saw.

I would love to get together with some fellow ants, finally put a face with the names. Julia21 I will PM my info to you soon. Who knows, maybe we will have to bring an after party to my place!

As for parking I am going to park in the lot I park at for work at 50 Weston Street, which is a rather large complex. They charge but I will be okay because I work there so I won't even have to drive in. Hopefully pull the same stuff for night 2, just say I am going to work, go into the buliding and then just leave and party in the lots. I feel much better not parking in Jai-Lai (although I will be able to walk on over) after the harrasment we got last year from the cops I think I am done parking there.

Hope I get to hang with some of you guys and I hope these shows are rockin. I am starting to get really excited (another benfit of spacing shows out). Lets keep this thread goin!!

For the second straight year I will be driving the hour to hartford on a fri and sat for the annual DMB shows. Caught both a Tweeter in MA on the 6th and 7th, hopefully these shows top those. The parking is a lot better than Mansfield, i took me 2 hrs each night to get out of the lot last week. Expect to pay about 20 for parking at hartford, but u should be out in about a half of hour

i'm going on fri afternoon, we're staying at the crowne plaza. I've never stayed over in hartford so i'm wondering how this is gonna work. We don't plan on taking the car to the show so how does the tailgate work. I know at msg for d+f the bars were packed around the garden. DOes the hotel or anyplace around have something going on? We're on the executive floor (only thing left) anyone else up there with us? Also, what is there to do during the day on sat? We'd love to meet some ants over the weekend. Also, we're still looking for two seats on Sat if anyone hears of anything.

Another good place to park...

The parking garage at the Crowne Plaza (its over the bridge and on your right, if youre leaving the Meadows...) and its $5. Its obviously not free, but not $20. I parked there last year Night 2 and I was outta there in 2 minutes. Got out, go on the highway and I was outta traffic...

I don't know what time they open that lot, and obviously theres no tailgating, but its GREAT parking. Its only parking on the lower (ground) level of the garage, and it never gets filled up...try it out.

Don't go all the way up the Crowne Plaze...take a right before you get there, and the backdoor (the only way to get in, if youre not a paying hotel customer) entrance is on your left.

im staying at clarion suites in manchester its like 11 minutes from the meadows. rooms are 100 a night but they are big. bed, couch, kitchen. 100 is pretty much the going rate anyways for a room around there.

I plan on parking in the jai-lai, arriving around 2pm. I am not concerned about the speed of leaving. The cops at Meadows are jerks, but only if you are underage. They have to be though, cause so many idiots come just to party, and rob your vehicle. Like I said before, after going to SPAC, the Meadows lots suck. DMB does put on a good show though.I think I may try to met Dave this year, because a lot of people I know have met him...

WOW the shows are so close!! About the parking deals, ive been going to to the meadows for 3 years now and ive always parked right before that bridge before the meadows at some lots right by a mobile i believe, it was free and its a good lot to tailgate.....

did I ever mention the time I save a ding or dent in someone's hood by catching a football?? :lol Ok it was only a nerf (those cool little ones with the tail that sail a few hundred ft)... and others were tossing it and I was drinking with my small crew on my tailgate. Well someone LAUNCHED it and it started drifting towards the cars (out of the aisle). I gave my crew a quick "heads up" and jum[ped over the 4-5 ft necessary to grab it (just before it landed on a car)! :lol :thumbsup

Yeah I'll be partying at the motel 6 (i have a bathroom suckersssssss mwaahahaha :devil ). I stay over there pretty much the whole time...I am in DC now for work, but I fly out tomorrow to go back to boston. I wouldn't take it out of the trunk and I would use cups...i saw the supidest and luckiest kid last year. He was like 15 and was walking around with a cooler. The Cops stoped him...DUH...but they didn't arrest him, they only stod there while he poured out all of his beer...we were heckleing him, hopeing they would give it to us....LOL

The VIP lot is to the LEFT of the main entrance. The Premier lot is right in front. The VIP lot has a quick exit with it's own lane. They dump you with a right turn only. Not a long out to 84 or 91. Since it's a private lot, there are people set up at the entrance. There is some walk through but not much. Only those that park at the free lot over the bridge walk through.

Because my friend Cindy will be there selling glow sticks

The VIP lot is to the LEFT of the main entrance. The Premier lot is right in front. The VIP lot has a quick exit with it's own lane. They dump you with a right turn only. Not a long out to 84 or 91. Since it's a private lot, there are people set up at the entrance. There is some walk through but not much. Only those that park at the free lot over the bridge walk through.

We do tailgate, but it's catered. Shrimp cocktail, clams casino, pork from the pit (we dig a hole early in the morning and toss in a pig) and of course only the finest imported dijon ketchup's. We only drink Sex in the City cosmos.
