Ugh. I'm so annoyed. I wanted to go to both nights so bad and this is the first year I've missed a Dave show in my area, as I'm stuck going to only night two... and after seeing this list I don't even know if I want to go, because they played everything I wanted to hear. The way this tour's going, I basically know everything that'll be played tomorrow and I just don't know how much I can enjoy Too Much, PNP, Rapunzel, et al. when I know what I missed tonight.

Here's my review:
Liked this set list tonight. Nothing really rare, only 1 or 2 song were not played at spac as well. One sweet world then BOWA is a great opening combo. The highlight of the night was an unbelievable Crush. I looked like a genius when I knew it was coming from the stephan intro, he did this at spac as well. Boyd went absolutley nuts on this version and the was some great stuff by leroy. The lowlight of the night was the pathetic yankees suck chant. Give it up New England, it really is the most pathetic thing in sports culture up here. I Did It was the only song that didn't do it for me. I can ussually stand this song but tonight sound all mangled like nobody was on the same page. Dave was trying some new stuff with it looked like. Billies and Warehouse were crowd favorites. The encore couldn't top Billies. Dave teased something for a while at the begining of the encore, not sure what it was. To the archives... Another note, Dave broke about 6 strings tonight. He was playin the shit outta them guitars tonight

I thought the show started off great, but i think alot of the crowd lost interest from I Did it, Hello Again, WAYG, Help Myself and Fool to Think all in a row, the band should've added an older livlier song in the middle. The new songs were good, especially Hello Again. Crush was absolutley amazing and BOWA and Jimi Thing were good as usual. The encore of Joy Ride and WWYS really disappointed me. This was my first show at The Tweeter Center in mansfield and I loved it, only previously been on the lawn at the Meadows, i had seats in section 8. I wish i would've chosen to attend both nights at Mansfield instead of Hartford because the place and people are amazing. I actually loved the YANKEES SUCK chant, and i found the crowd and people to be much better than hartford.

i had a great time at tonight's show, dave breaking 4 strings got to be completely hilarious after a while. i, too, could've gone without the Yankees Suck chant... but you come to expect it living here. the encore, although not something i would have picked, wasn't too bad. on paper it seems like hell but WWYS seemed really fucking awesome tonight for some reason... maybe it was just me.
hello again was absolutely amazing, and dave's scat (what seemed to be the longest ever, he even apologized while scatting for it being so long) during jim was pretty sweet, not as good as last years though ;) also, by far the best version of crush i've ever heard... all around, a pretty good show. i had a great time, despite a song or two i could've gone without, and that's all that counts.
see ya'll at night 2

man just got home from the show... started out with sooo much potential and then just feel off a cliff WWYS as an encore closer! WTF? i coulda listened to that on the radio trying to get outta the parking lot early....
anyways that's the downside
Crush was simpily amazing as was the first OSW BOWA and Stone... carters drum solo in the middle of Sugar Will? i think was AMAZING and Jimi Thing being 25+ mins long was massive.
Billies to close the set was pretty cool then the encore i knew Joy Ride was coming but WWYS shocked the hell outta me...
anyways all in all it was a pretty decent night
very miniscule chance of going to tomorrows show....almost had tickets but unfortanately i dont think it's going to work out.

One Sweet World: Very nice opener. Mellow start, but it kind of set the tone for the rest of the night.
The Best Of What's Around: So glad to hear this song again. I would have prefered it as an opener, but I'll take this song whenever I can get it. I was shocked when I heard Carter start it up. Solid version.
The Stone: Dave started it right after BOWA ended. It got the crowd going.
The Song That Jane Likes: "Got a sister named Jane, and this is The Song That Jane Likes." Standard, but good version.
Sugar Will: All the new songs seem a lot tighter. LeRoi had a great solo at the end, but I'd like to see him worked into the song more. This one is improving much.
Crush: Excellent version. Boyd was on (as he was all night and all of the shows I have seen this tour). The band really got into this one and it got a fist pump from Dave (to Carter) at the end.
Rhyme & Reason>>: Very intense. No intro today. Dave broke a string (1 of 3 for the night). There were some interesting things going on which sets this version apart from other versions I have heard. Very happy with this one tonight.
Thing (Hmm ?): Went right into this after R&R. Best version I've heard so far. Sounds like there's some less scatting going on and the lyrics are starting to fall in place. Nice jam at the end as well.
Warehouse: This was perfect to follow Thing. I was thinking of the stop time intro right after Thing ended and was extremely happy to hear Dave go into it. I believe Dave broke a second string on this song. Pretty solid version with a nice jam. LeRoi was very impressive throughout the night.
I Did It: I saw Monk on the side of the stage tuning the electric, so I knew we had an Everyday song coming. I Did It didn't seem to fit in this set all that well, so it kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. The crowd seemed to enjoy it and got into it after a rough start from Dave with the intro riff. I did like the guitar setting used on it...it sounded a bit more badass.
Hello Again: Definitely my favorite out of all the new songs. It keeps getting better every time they play it. Carter's drum solo is great, although tonight he let a stick get away from him, but caught it after letting it slip into the air. Didn't have any negative effect on the solo or the song. I'm loving this song...although I miss the "Baaaaaaack." It has been replaced with "Away" or something, but doesn't do it for me as much as "Baaaaaack."
Where Are You Going: Litte bit of Fonzie messing around at the beginning of the song, but other than that standard.
Help Myself: I love it when Carter has a nice breakdown in this song. Solid.
Fool To Think: Glad to hear it. Carter definitely changed it up and did some nice work in this song. Worth a listen to. Hopefully the nice work continues and we'll get something nice out of it down the road.
Jimi Thing: Like any other version of this song lately, it was great! Dave had a nice solo as well as other members of the band. The scatting was (as usual) the highlight, but had some memorable instances like "My milkshake's better than yours." I was surprised with that! :lol
Crazy-Easy: Out of all the new songs this one seems to be the tightest. I think it will only continue to improve.
Tripping Billies: Nice way to close the set. Nature intro. Always glad o hear it because of the energy from the crowd and band. Great closer to a great set.
_________________________
Tease Only Dave playing a riff, but it was obvious he had played it before and wasn't just warming up with something he came up with on the spot. Sounds interesting. Can't wait to see what becomes of this. Maybe tomorrow? *figers crossed* :bounce
Joy Ride: Nice just to hear something different in the encore. Good energy. Like I've said about all the new songs, they're getting tighter. The band really seems to enjoy it and so does the crowd.
What Would You Say: Would have been nice to get a more powerful song with a great jam, but the band barely finished by 11 as it was. Overall a standard version, but it's a popular song so the crowd didn't seem to mind. I believe Dave broke the third string here (and maybe even a fourth here as well) if I remember correctly.
The set, as a whole, was very good. The band seemed right on after a few days off. Besides R&R and a few others, it was a fairly mellow set. All the versions of the songs were pretty solid, which seams to be the word for this set. Some nice treats in a few songs to make this set memorable. LeRoi was tearing up his parts tonight. Boyd was on tonight. Dave and Carter seemed to be having a lot of fun with the songs and andded some nice parts here and there for something different. Fonzie was bouncing all over the place the whole night and is all over the new songs, which I wouldn't want any other way. I'm expecting a lot for tomorrow and am looking forward to it very much.

DMB played a solid set tonight in Mansfield opening up with One Sweet World. We were forced to cancel soundcheck this afternoon after the flight on which LeRoi and Carter were traveling was diverted due to a malfunction. They got on another plane and made it to the venue in plenty of time for the show. Speaking of the show, it rocked! They just keep getting better. We'll see you back here tomorrow night.

I thought this was interesting. That explains why I saw almost every band member look over to the soundboard and give gestures for adjustments. I'm not sure if that means they will sound check tomorrow or not. If they do, maybe that means they will work on a song or two to debut for the tour. We'll see in due time. :)

Well, I was in the lot for an hour without moving, and then it took another half hour to get out, and then a 45 minute ride home.. I crashed at a friend's house and just got home. And with that, the review.
One Sweet World - A little disappointed I never got to hear the instrumental intro, but I suppose the newer one will catch on. Makes the song tighter by like 3 minutes, but the outro was right on.
Best of What's Around - I nearly shit myself. So psyched to hear it live, and it was just as good as ever.
The Stone - Started right after BOWA, so I had a feeling the night would have either many short songs or few songs and long jams. You know which came true. Standard, but it's fuckin' Stone, it rocked. The outro was great too.
Song That Jane Likes - For the first repeat of mine from last year, I couldn't be happier. Standard, but oh so good.
Sugar Will - Erm. Mass exodus #1 of the night for food and piss breaks. The outro is just... long. It felt past 10 minutes. Roi's got a solid solo but it just kind of grooves for a few minutes. Not terrible. I'm not too thrilled with having to hear these 4 both nights though.
Crush - Yeah, yeah. My first one live and I thought it rocked. Mass singalongs in my section. The kid in front of me had sat down and slept from all the pot by this point so my view really opened up. Standard, but awesome. I don't know how many times I'd like to hear this again, but I wont' dare fuckin' complain about a song the first time I hear it live.
Rhyme and Reason - I didn't really get into this one until midway through, but Dave surely blows his voice for a few measures. Ruined it for my friends by calling the...
-> Thing - This rocked. My friend said he'd go grab food at the next new song since I told him they'd play them both nights, but I know this doesn't get played that regularly, so I called him back and this seemed to get positive reactions from people. It's mainly just a jam piece, I still can't get many lyrics.
Warehouse - Repeat #2 for me. Yeah, like I care. The jam, while not too different from Central Park still has minor changes in it. So much fun. I think this was broken string #1.
I Did It - I saw him bust out the baritone and prayed to the gods of music for So Right or even What You Are at that point, but alas, no. Whatever. 3 minutes flat, and it was my first time.
Hello Again - This was awesome. I'll be happy to hear this again tonight. Carter just goes nuts at the end. I could see this being a well-received first encore song.
Fool To Think - The jam was alright. Nothing out of the ordinary. I was still very much happy to be there. The energy had pretty much drained from the crowd by this point between new songs and stuff like this.
Jimi Thing - They were desperately trying to bring the farther back crowds alive again, and this worked. The scat was hilarious, the solo was surprisingly well done, and overall it was just a solid piece of music. I still sy live this needs to have a minute or two cut off to make it tighter, but for song repeat #3 it was still a great time.
Crazy-Easy - Whatever momentum they had gained with Jimi was lost here. Last exodus out of the place. Short, to the point, not many lyrics. Dave's sure having fun with that guitar part though.
Billies - I nearly hit the roof. Billies is slowly becoming my favorite live song just because no matter where I am there's so much energy around me and on stage. Broken string #2.
---
Encore:
There was a lot of random guitar doodling through the night by Dave between songs, so by this point I wasn't really listening for anything structured, and I didn't think there'd be a new tease there. They had me sufficiently confused until I realized they hadn't played...
Joy Ride - Crowd killer. It was cool. Not what I want to hear tonight, but oh well.
What Would You Say - Not what I was looking for, but better to hear it now. Broken string #3 of the night, Dave was looking pretty annoyed at the guitar by that point and really walloped the hell out of it during the jam. Standard really.
So tonight there's still Ants, Rapunzel, Two Step and Stay as closers. As far as main set stuff I'm hoping for some Recently, Nancies, Cry Freedom, DDTW and Pig. I'd rather hear a debut or two, there's still Seek Up, I'll Back You Up (which now that I think of it I swear I thought he was going to play that when the "new tune tease" came up.) Typical, 41, you know 'em all.
Here's hoping for a great one tonight.

I didn't know if I was the only one that swore they would play IBYU during that little tease. It didn't register at all that it could be a tease, but hey, it showed up on the setlist :p I had a great time last night, I could actually get into every song that was played, even IDI and WAYG to an extent (that may have been because of the alcohol actually, but it worked!). Some highlights for me were Jimi (I usually can never get into this song, so I am so glad it's been a turn around.. the scat was awesome, they were just on tonight), Jane, Crush, Billies was just nuts, SO much energy, and Hello Again once again kicked my ass. That song is going to evolve even more over time and in a few years it will be the crowd pleaser.
Another little part of the day that got me excited, my friends had a meet and greet, and they suprised me with a birthday card signed by Dave :D :D That certainly made my day haha.
Well, here's to an awesome show tonight!! #30 here we come!

Fuckin' A. I'd die if they played Graves. My friend and I were yelling it to each other all night. I'm sitting 15th row tonight, so I'm either going to A) attempt to swing a request (not really. I might yell a song or two, but trust me, I'm not taking myself serious) and/or B) get a setlist.
Also..
Jimi Thing being 25+ mins long was massive.
I don't know about that, the torrent's got it clocked in the 18 minute area.

I don't know about that, the torrent's got it clocked in the 18 minute area.
well i looked at my cell at after it'd started and it was 10:00 and it offically ended at 1025 but i guess if you count where he said "i'm sorry if i've gone on to long STOP!" then that might have been 18 mins but they did a little outro jam after that i dunno :-/

He is 2 1/2 , he is a trip, he loves Spongebob which we are watching now. He also decided he was going to carry the Listener Supported DVD container to daycare.
