What are your comments regarding the venue in West Palm? Is the energy normally good and is the venue sound itself good? I am just trying to figure out if i want to take the trip down there from Atlanta to see the 2 night stand. Do you think it would be better just to drive up to Antioch or is West Palm usually good?

Well, I have been to Antioch for PHISH and I live in near West Palm Beach venue, I go to all shows there..my fav venue for shows in Florida. But I love TENN... good times in both..which ever is easier for you.

West Palm is a fun venue, the best thing about this trip is the beach and scenery. We had a hard time finding some dank when DMB played there in 2002. Parking lot is good, lots of tailgating and people get there early. Watch out for undercover cops. The band just didn't have the kind of energy they bring to some of the more popular stops. I did hear the first ever Loving Wings here. That was in 2002 though so this year could be different. I might make these shows to meet some friends.

I was on the lawn for the first night at WPB in 2002. It was my first outdoor DMB show, and the only time I've been on the lawn... and I was way at the top. Energy was OK, but I was way up there. Venue isn't too bad... parking situation is actually pretty good. It is Florida in July, so definitely be prepared for rain. I have been to SPAC, which is just an amazing amphitheatre, so it's really hard to say WPB is great, but it's not bad. TN might worth going to just because of the great guests that often show up there.

who is lanois?

among other things, Lanois wrote The Maker and Beauty of Wynona (he's also done a ton of other stuff including producing... but that's what most people know him for). Hopefully Dave will come out and do a couple songs with him

I'd say he's equally known, if not more, for his work with U2...

has anybody camped out near the venue? i think it would be awesome to camp out on the beach and have an all-night beach party until the next day. any thoughts on this?

really not that great of a venue, seems like they are always having issues with the sound. although the lawn is big and not really a bad seat. florida crowds tend to suck cause of the mass overflow college douchebags, so just be prepared for that, may not be as bad this year considering dmb really isn't as popular as 00-02. good lot scene that starts early so you will have fun there, but dmb hasn't really brought the energy they used to in 96,98 and 99. 00,01 and 02 just didn't seem to have a lot of energy.

i defintely agree with that.. most people assume things before they experience it ..and I for one will go to a show ANYWHERE and expect to have fun.. and most of the time usually do.. not many things can ruin it.. unless you cant let urself enjoy it

i live an hour away from the amp and have seen every dmb show that has been there. if you have seen the last 6 shows there then you would know they have had serious problems with the sound. the year it rained before the show and they opened up with 41, the sound was down for quite sometime. then i believe the year before that they blew a speaker or one just went out during watchtower. i have seen dmb shows all the way up the east coast and out at the gorge last year, there is a big difference in crowd imo. of course all shows will have shitty people in the crowds, wpb just seems to have an abundence of them. never had a problem in tampa or orlando just wpb and lauderdale.

oh and believe me i know when dmb is full of energy, and they haven't been the past few years in wpb.

The Mars music? orSound Advice Amp in West Palm is a great venue. Ive seen dave their, in tampa, and in hi fi buys in atlanta. The truth of the matter is, there is no bad place to watch the fellaz play. Dave could fart into a tin can in a dark alley and I would probally sit and listen. Ill be their both nights this summer, so, hopefully itll rain once. Also, for anyone coming out of state, I thought I would help you out because everyone has always been so kind to me. If you looking to spend all day and all night on a beach, go somewhere that is kinda secluded. Drive a little further south of west palm to find much better beaches. As for the other two most important things, the sound and the "dank" as someone called it. The sound is great at the amp, it has been re-done since the last time they were there so I expect it to be even better. If they blew a speaker out during watchtower, I doubt you would even hear it....and if you did....how great would that be? As far as not being able to find the dank, the funk is all around, just be smart. Cops can be a bit over anxious to disrupt a good time, and inside the ampitheatre they are vigilant in catching people smoking and sneaking in beer that they dont sell. So, watch yourself and your fellow fans and you should be ok. I love you all.
