I'm trying to decide what new venues to hit for a road trip or 2.
I'm considering:
Germain Amp, Columbus
Star Lake Pav, Burgettstown, PA
Tweeter Center Boston
Hershey Park
Merri. Post Pav, Columbia, MD
Virginia Beach
Charlotte
West Palm Beach
Woodlands
I'd appreciate opinions on any of the venues. While I'm looking for any useful information and advice, I'm most interested in:
What is the venue itself like? Good sound? Nice seating layout?
Is there a fun tailgate/parking lot scene?
Are there hotels/bars/restaurants nearby?
Thanks to anyone who can help me out!

The only one of these venues that I have been to is Tweeter Boston and I must say, it was a damn good time. It seemed like all the seats are good and the sound was very nice. Even the seats that aren't covered were good. The tailgating was pretty good although much less active than the Meadows and even a little more calm than SPAC which is really mellow. Not sure about the local area in terms of bars and hotels. I highly recommend seeing a show there.
Edit: The one bad thing is traffic, especially getting out, it is horrendus.

I'm really tempted to go to Boston. If the 2 nights were a weekend run, I'd be there for sure. I don't mind a calm tailgate, but I hate venues that crack down on it altogether (Blossom). I'm sure traffic getting out of the venue is bad, I have yet to find a venue where it isn't. Premier Parking is the best $15 secret going around!
I'm glad to hear that Starlake is a good place, that's a tempting weekend trip. Merriweather is only 30 mins from where I live, so I'm going there no matter how much I read about how bad it is.
What's the problem with VA Beach? Thought that might be a fun place in the middle of summer.
Rob, I see you're from Raleigh. I really like Walnut Creek. I went to the shows there in 2001. Great parking lot scene, especially with the woods surrounding the lots.
