i just got in from the show....was I in hershey again? same songs just in a different order...only 4 different ones. and i have NEVER been so happy to hear crash, DDTW, i did it, and too much. the band is becoming like every other band and playing the same songs. hopefully camden will be better. another thing i noticed tonight. carter didnt even smile one time until more than halfway into the show. stefan didnt move one bit until too much. i honestly think they have forgotten about their hardcore fans who want to hear more rare stuff. definitely the second worse show i've been to.

Man, that's not what I want to hear. I was hoping they popped out a different song tonight, but I guess that wasn't the case.

so is every tease prelude? didnt sound like it last night
Tease WAS NOT THE PRELUDE tonight. I can confirm that. It was just Dave noodling around.
On another not, I did enjoy the little intro diddy before Hello Again, atleast I think it was Hello Again. Anyway, there are definately new songs in the works just from going to this one concert. And tonight there were definately changes in the newer songs, such as Crazy Easy Dave stoppped singing to from what I guessed to talk to everyone else, and then during the curous they played the signature more times than normal. To me it sounded alot better. But I'm done for now. time for bed.

It's laughable that so many people think this show was lame simply by reading the setlist. I didn't go to Hershey, but was at Nissan and I couldn't have picked two better shows. The setlists were a perfect pair and I couldn't be happier with the show last night. The band's energy was the highest I have ever witnessed. Dave's voice was flawless up until the encore, and he covered it fine. Joyride, Hello Again and Sugar Will were the best I've heard so far. Even Too Much was cool with Dave scatting at the end.
This show simply kicked ass. The best show I have been too by far, and I was sober, which says a lot. Merriweather was an awesome time, and I'm so glad was able to be there.

I thought the show was awesome. I was at Hershey and there were a lot of the same songs played but I don't care. The energy was great, and the band kicked ass. Not a big fan of Too Much, but that was a great version. I was glad they played it. I don't understand all the complaints that I read on here. I guess that is the way it is in life, some people will always find a reason to complain about something. If you paid attention to the setlists at all this year, you would have known going in that they would play a lot of the same songs they have been playing. If that isn't cool with you, sell your tickets. There are always people looking to buy on the ticket exchange page.

I don't know what section most of you were in, but I was in the lawn and it SUCKED! Half the people weren't even paying attention to the show and the audio was HORRIBLE in the lawn. This show didn't hold a candle to Sunday nights show at Nissan. A major letdown after Sunday night and an extraordinarily average show. I'll never sit in the lawn at Merriweather again.

i guess i will put in my two cents about merri...
had good seats, 18th row, left. the venue was nice, surrounded by woods and very intimate. was able to do a little tailgating in the mall lot, but not too much. as for the show....
the crowd was so freakin' loud it was amazing. never did i expect that coming from a crowd that in all honestly was about 70% high school kids. the noise in the pavilion just bounced from the ground up. VERY loud. however, i i did see a lot of sitters. the set list was decent, idi--wayg kinda of killed it for me, but liog made up for it. boyd absoulteyl nuts! he did face offs with everyone. after liog he and butch gave each other a nice big hug. the biggest downer was that there were waay to many radio songs. other than that solid show, not as good as nissan, but still plenty of energy. you could def sense the intimacy of the small venue. if they do play merri again (depsite that douchebag who jumped the stage at the end) i'll def be there.

Completely agree. The person who said that is either out and out lying about what they saw, or just wasn't looking when they were showing Carter for the beginning of the show. To be fair, he was smiling and seemed to be having a better time towards the end of the show, but he wasn't just sitting there doing nothing in the beginning as the original poster would like to have you all believe.
I Did It into WAYG was a little rough, but then again IDI is a lot better in person than on the radio so at least that helped. Definitely a lot of radio songs which isn't always a bad thing, but at least they mixed the setlist up a fair amount from what they played at Nissan on Sunday.
Lie In Our Graves was flat out superb last night, too.

I personally thought this show blew Nissan out of the water. Sure, there were a couple people sitting down, but it wasn't entire sections like Sunday's show. And the crowd was SO loud- which was surprising because of how small the venue was. And the lawn looked like it sucked, but from inside the pavillion it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Maybe it helped that IDI was only about 2 minutes long :) The setlist may not have looked that great on paper, but the energy in that venue was incredible.
PS- who's the guy in the bucket hat in the front row that throws stuff into the audience right before DMB comes out? I saw him at both shows.

No, it was loud because of how small the venue was. Did you see how low the roof is in the Pavillion at Merriweather? The noise that usually gets lost way above the crowd at most venues had nowhere to go but sit 15 or 20 feet above your head. The crowd was cheering at the same basic level it always does, it was just louder for the fans because of all the noise being deflected closer than normal.

Okay, so who saw the two fans (both guys) bum rush the stage after that last song of the encore? This dude with a jersey got all the way up on stage and the band was heading off and looked like he was patting Dave on the back like "I love you man!" and then Dave's guitar tech (off all people, where the hell was security?) took him down as another guy was running up on stage. It was so crazy....I haven't seen anybody make up on stage like that EVER! Crazy!

His name is Chris...he's a good friend of mine. He is very popular with the band and even spent an evening in Dave's bus behind the stage at the Gorge last year. There is a classis picture of him cradling Dave in his arms (Chris is a bigger guy than Dave)...and Dave looks scared shitless....I'll see if I can get a copy and scan it in for ya'll.
If you ever notice Dave hold up three fingers on stage during a show...that's his way of saying hello to Chris...who always wears his #3 Iverson jersey.
As for the stuff he throws out...they're Blow Pops. I have a large collection of Blow Pops from shows we have attended with him.
He's a great guy and very friendly.....say hi if you see him at a show. He'll be at Hartford, Camden, and the Gorge.
Peace ya'll

Weak show tonight. Blah. Hopefully this tour starts picking up.
Were you there? No. And the majority of the reviews I have read have been positive.
And about the tour "picking up"... sure, this may have been an "average show", but most of the shows this tour have been extremely good. There are ALWAYS at least a few average or below-average sets in a tour, it's a given. The band is playing tighter than they have been in a long time. There is no NEED for the tour to start "picking up".
The ONLY time you have a right to complain is if you're going to multiple venues back-to-back. They DON'T make setlists for those people who watch song names pop up on a screen and who want to orgasm at every song. They make setlists for people AT the concerts, the MAJORITY of which only go to one venue. They shouldn't give a damn about trying to please those who go to more than one venue, because they can't. It's impossible.
And about the bad radio songs? Guess what, there ARE people there who are there for those songs, and the band has to please those fans as well. Hardcore fans are NOT given top priority.
Sorry about lashing out specifically at you, I'm just getting tired of people bitching at sets when they aren't even there. As I said, the ONLY time a person has a right to complain is if they're going to multiple venues back-to-back.
In all honesty, I would have loved to be at this show. Why? Because I know to conserve myself and only go to a couple of shows a year. If I overdo it, I'm bound to be disappointed in the future no matter what they play.

The lawn wasn't really that bad. If youre facing the stage, I was sitting to the right of the "preferred" section on the lawn. The people I was around were great and the view was much better than I had a Nissan last year. Hopefully the band will come back to Merriweather next year; I like it much better than Nissan.
Also, my friend and I went on a mission during the concert. After having a rough breakup with her boyfriend a few days ago, we took around a pair of her ex's shorts and had random guys try them on while taking pictures of them. The pictures will be given to him when the shorts are given back. If anyone on here was one of the people who tried on those shorts for us, thanks a bunch. :)

Quick question about this venue... is it a dump? im looking on google for venues that are sorta close to home to add to my 2006 list (camden, pittsburg, hershey, scranton, spac, alpine...) and this place looks small and dumpy. theres a pavillion in a park down the street that looks nicer. How are the atmoshpere/setlists/and tailgating here?? thanks

Its not a dump, its a pretty cool place to see a show, if you get pavilion seats. The band has only played here twice, and only headlined once, its highly unlikely they'll be there this year.
