I have a good friend who is a regional VP for Ticketmaster. The absolute best way to get seats is through the venue's box office. Ticketmaster is usually assigned certain seats throughout the venue. The venue's box office usually has access to the best seats, because they usually assign the less desireable seats to Ticketmaster for sale at outlets, online etc. So if you want the best seats go to the box office, or call the venue.

My friends and I have been successful at getting good Alpine tix here in MN. On the TM website you can find TM outlet locations. We picked the most random, obscure one, located in a 24-hour supermarket in a tiny, middle-of-bumblef**k town and drove there early in the morning. (It was about 100 miles, which is WAY closer than East Troy, WI!) We are always literally the ONLY people there for DMB tix. We make friends with the person working the computer, go get breakfast, come back and have our tix! Just check in advance if there's any country music tix going on sale that day at the same time...then there's always a crowd and it's not worth the trip.

get your friends together (even if they aren't going) and all get your cell phones and start dialing...while one of you are on the internet.....(or if another friend wants to stay home get him onthe internet too)

Honestly, the phone is a waste of your time. Have another friend work online with you instead.
