billies verse still kicks my ass, but recently isn't too bad. the little intro is cake, the verse can be a little hairy, but once you get the fingering and practice it, it all fits in.
www.dmbtabs.com has it pretty good telling you what fingers go where.

you could i guess... i think someone asked about the recently chords recently(no pun intended), but it won't sound right because the verse really is a not pattern, not a chordal pattern.
if you practice it, you wil get it.

i think the hardest part of recently is getting the muted sound dave gets....getting the fingerings correct is just like a pattern i.e. sattelite

Repetitive motion, like masturbation, gets easier with practice. :lol
Think of Recently verse as masturbation. You'll get it soon enough. Practice.

It's the first song I ever learned on guitar xD My advice- learn the two themes, People Stare--> Walk and Talk, and that other repitive part that switches lyrics. Learn 'em both without the muting technique that Dave uses, then progressively start trying to use it. You might find learning The Stone intro helpful, that's great muting practice. Once you can do them pretty well, start doing your own variations on the themes, I think I posted a few of mine a while back... practice makes perfect, as always :P a video might help too, and keep in mind, there're tonnns of jams off it, so yours won't sound quite the same as what you hear
Good luck!

uh, practice? That's the only "shortcut" that's worth it, really
