keep in mind, a lot of stuff Tim does is improv'd, its never note for note- plus the looping, etc...
Stream, like a lot of other Tim tunes has a few main melodic elements to them, so learn those- but after that...go to town :)

if you have been playing for 8 months, unless you are a whiz and a musical genius, you aren't going to be able to pick it up.
at least, i know i have been playing for 4 years now, and I have tried it here and there, but damn.
I picked it up in my first year of playing. The key is to play sloooooooooooowly at first to get your fingers and pick coordinated. After that, you can slowly speed it up. It's not too bad, until you get to the improv sections.

Heh, if you've played for four years, I'm sure you can play some circles around me.

i doubt it, i'm self taught with a basic guitar class and a jazz guitar class.
i'm a music theory geek, but it's been a while since i thought that way.
although, lately i've been playing everyday for at least and hour or two. i need to really get doing some practice exercises and scales again.
I never took a lesson, unfortunately. I play in the neighborhood of 3 hours a day (at least, I did before my classes got outrageous). My buddy put up a couple of clips that he and I recorded, to get a "feel." http://users.wpi.edu/~nick718/songs.htm

nice. i don't do much "solo" type stuff, i mainly play around riffs and mess around being more the "back up" or "accompaniment" guitar. :lol
those sound good! :thumbsup

i've been playing for bout 10 years now, but i still can't play some of those long scales...the basic part isn't that bad, but he goes to town in the middle

I can play it and have been playing for two years now and am self taught. Everything I play isn't spot on match but it sounds like it. As a matter of fact Im playing the song for my high school's pops concert. Should be fun. Basically just learn it in pieces then slowly put it together. Then increase your speed. It comes overtime and eventually you can play it right with timmy on LOLC. Good luck with it and keep at it.
