1. don't noodle on the guitar so much when the vocals are going.
2. if you were trying to sound like dave with your voice, you did a pretty damn good job... but why not just make it your own in some way?:)

53 secs to DL. Nice speed.

About the song...
Technically, the recording sounds really good. How'd you do it? Hardware / Software? Mics / Instruments?
I'll also echo what greppson said, be yourself. Your voice sounds great here, but it's probably even better when you're completely natural. I'd like to hear you do a song that's not a cover.

Good luck with it, man. Keep it up.
About the guitar parts... the "Dave" part sounds just fine. But there are so many annoying notes in the "lead" part, that I'd rather not hear it at all. At times it sounds like you're making it bluesy, which is not a really good reflection of TS. I'd recommend scrapping the lead if you can and recut it later. If you do so, listen to Tim's part on L@LC and try to get a feel for how Tim uses his part to mimick the meaning of the song.

What software are you using?
If you have eq available, see if you can "open up a space for the vocal to sit in"
with out it mixing in with the guitar so much.
Pan each guitar left and right and let the vocal have the center.
If using some reverb, pan the voice a bit to one side and then reverb a bit more to the other. Same with the eq, place the instruments and voice in different places in the
stereo field to create more space.
The second guitar is consistantly out of key, too many "clams" and too loud. It should enhance,
not over power. Figure out the key and work with scales for it.
Keep it up, it's all a learning process!
