yoo man i myself dont have much backpacking experience either. i go hiking all the time for day trips or 2-3 day stunts but have never dont a full on trip. one of my buddies who goes to plymouth is an outdoor adventure education major so we're plannin on hittin the long trail which runs all the way through VT this summer a lil over 200 hundred miles i think. it actually coincides with the AT for about 100 miles. we havent really gotten to indepth in plannin but i think we're looking to go sometime in may. il def get back to ya once we have more set plans but thatd be awesome to trek a bit a day and blaze at night together
