BWGK on Vinyl

I hear there is talk that this album will also be sold on Vinyl. Are we going to be able to get this is normal record stores or is it going to be a BTCS situation where their will only be so many made and everyone fights over them on Ebay

Re: BWGK on Vinyl

Re: BWGK on Vinyl

DMB needs to release both the CD and vinyl in a special bundle, very much like what Radiohead did with In Rainbows (with a pre-order bonus CD to boot!).

Re: BWGK on Vinyl

BTCS was a limited release. Only a couple thousand printed if I remember correctly. Assuming this will be on vinyl, it will get a mass release.

I would love if they - with this new album - did a release of the big 3 albums plus a classic live album (red rock listener supported, or CP) on vinyl.

A lot of new stuff is on vinyl. I actually think it would be dumb NOT to release this on vinyl with some releases of old albums. RCA could bank big time on that.

The reason why I haven't splooged on a BTCS vinyl yet is, according to Matt and Jake in a podcast from less than a year ago, mgt was reportedly planning on eventually releasing UTTAD, Crash, and BTCS on vinyl sometime down the line.

Re: BWGK on Vinyl

BWGK will be getting the same mass release that all other major RCA albums have for the past year or so. In addition to that, you will more than likely see all DMB albums re-released at some point in the next few years. I could see them waiting until 2011 for a 20th Anniversary kind of thing, but if I were to guess, my money would be on next year.

I had it in my head that it was exactly 1000, though I could be wrong on that. Which never made sense to me, because it only promotes people collecting it and never listening to it, which is amazingly stupid. Until DMB starts releasing albums on SACD or Blu-Ray audio, vinyl is the best sounding format they have. A limited release makes people put it on their shelf, not on their turntable.

someday, if they actually do re release the albums on vinyl, i'll purchase two of each. one to listen to, and one to get framed. i'm a completest, so even stand up.

I've heard this too. I think it may have even been mentioned in a podcast. Not completely sure though.

I hope we get it on vinyl. I'm sure enough people will pay to justify it. I'd buy 2! :)

I thought the number was 5000. But, that's why you buy 2. That way even less people get them and you can frame one and listen to one :evil
