I'm also in.

Saw them both twice two years ago. Way too many drugs for my taste. They still make good music, but I'll stick to listening to live stuff from my home. I am really that square.

While those are great songs, i suggest going to www.archive.org and search some grateful dead. i suggest anything really, but i am a big fan of the Spring '77 Tour, esp. May of '77. Just outstanding music being created during this time

You mean there were to many drugs around?

if so, i mean that has to be kind of expected at that scene...

Not drugs around people selling them. Not everyone wants to buy drugs. Just leave it for people looking for them.

Re: Official Grateful Dead Thread

St. Stephen was the first song I learned on guitar (just the basic chords of it, not the intro/trippy middle 8 section).

I liked them a lot about 3 years ago for probably 6 months. I don't dislike them now, but I haven't put them on in a long while. I remember liking Aoxomoxoa or w/e a lot, as well as the fillmore shows where they played Hey Jude, opening for Janis.

Maybe I'll have to throw down some GD today.

Scarlet/Fire on Disc 4 of So Many Roads might be my favorite song, but I, like many so far on this thread, had a time in my life where I was into them and listened to them a lot, but just haven't picked them up in a while.
