Live Trax Vol. 40 - 12.21.02 Madison Square Garden, New York City, NY

LIVE TRAX 40: 12.21.2002 MADISON SQ GARDEN, NEW YORK, NY

On December 21, 2002 DMB fans were treated to one of the most exciting collaborations in the band's history - James Brown and members of his Soul Generals joined Dave Matthews Band, and members of Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe for Brown’s classic “Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine.” This incredible guest appearance shows Brown trading dance moves with Dave, and concludes an epic 25-minute funk session of "So Much To Say > Anyone Seen the Bridge? > Too Much > Get Up.” While an obvious highlight of the evening, it is not the only one. “Seek Up” features superb performances from both LeRoi Moore and Butch Taylor, while the evening’s momentous encore of “Halloween > Ants Marching” could not have closed out a multi-night, sold out run at NYC’s preeminent Madison Square Garden in better fashion.

We are pleased to revisit this legendary show in its entirety as Live Trax 40. Available as a 1 Blu-ray/2-CD set, a 1 DVD/2-CD set or a 2-CD set.

I'm not sure which LT 40 thread to respond to, so this one was on top when I found it. I'm most interested in this 8-track bonus from the Dec '02 tour. But if it's a WH exclusive, that's a bummer.

I'm loving the DVD option. Will be nice to see this band in their top form on DVD again.

I honestly don't care about the DVD/Bluray portion but I'm happy it's there for those that want it. Any tracklist info on the Encore Trax disc?

So, can everyone keep these posts in mind when they're freaking about about Blu-ray in the future and how many billions the band must be passing up.

I'm not buying a Blu-Ray or DVD because I don't know when I'd have the time to watch it and I'd rather not spend the money for something to gather dust. I can at least listen to the discs in my car or at my desk.

That said, I'm glad they're offering the Blu-Ray option for those that want it.

No Ultra HD bluray? Bought but DMB is always 10 years behind. I need 4K bluray!

I'll be making a more dynamic stereo mixdown for my car from the Blu-ray, finally a lossless surround track (most likely 16/48). The band's 5.1 mixes have always had minimal to no dynamic range compression, ripping and downmixing these days is a doddle.

I have a 2 1/2 year old and another one due in January. As much as I'd love to sit down and watch this show on Blu-Ray, I just can't imagine I'm going to have the time for it.

yeah I'm essentially in the same boat but then again won't you want to have it for that one time the wife takes both kids somewhere? that's why I bought it (damn the fact that wife is taking both kids to a baby shower on Nov. 20!).

my order confirmation says "bluray or DVD" (had to double check my work three times to make sure I didn't accidentally order DVD) so I think there are some gremlins

If she's gone with both kids, I'm sleeping or playing video games. :lol
