Opening and Closing Tracks

I think we have heard the opening track (Gaucho) and the closing track (Mercy). Looking back at the other albums Gaucho is classic Big Three opening track and Mercy (the live version at least) has the making of having a great transition jam, like the end of BTCS, UTTAD and Crash. Any thoughts, did I just make my first post up and it be complete and total nonsense?

Well Lillywhite tweeted that the closing song is his favorite (better than Spoon) and Mercy is not that. (unless Steve has vastly different tastes than 98% of people on here)

Mercy will have the "Crash Into Me" postition. (nr.3) Gaucho could be nr.5. No way it will be the opener.

I don't think they could make mercy into a 10 minute song unless Tim does a November Rain guitar solo for 5 minutes

After listening to the live versions I think they could. I mean, they had that extended jam going on the very first time they played it.

Is Baby Blue considered a Dave Solo? Or are we actually talking only guitar and vocals?

I think the album will be great, but Dave solos should stick to Dave solo albums, including Sweet (unless the band comes in earlier).

Chris told me that the opening song on the album starts with a nice little guitar riff. Hopefully something like SMTS.
