Tips on meeting people in a new city where you don't know anyone
It looks like I'll be moving to a new city in a few months where I don't know anyone. I've never had to do this before and I figured there were a few of you here who have done just this very thing. So, I'm looking for some tips on how I can go about meeting some people.

I joined a rowing team, but any sport would work, look at softball teams, etc.

you can edit to to 1 cool guy instead of three cool guys, and subsitute apt or whatever for party mansion.

try seeing if there's any meetup groups based on your interests in your city on this site:

i found a group of "boston area yankee fans" on there and have fellow fans to watch games with as a result

Get creative. Play a sport. Join a club. Do things in nature. Go to work-related social events. You may meet friends of co-workers and that sort of thing.
