Re: The Killing (2011 AMC Series)

wow, even more stargate & battlestar cast members in the killing.

decent episode. definitely better than last weeks.

i guess we now know what caused the weirdness between the aunt & jaspers dad. he was her john.

oh and the richmond reveal...as long as it's not another one of those ... it's not actually as it seems things that happens at the last second to keep you wondering all week.

Re: The Killing (2011 AMC Series)

I wonder how much of the cast will return in season 2, especially if there is going to be a cliffhanger. They could easily make another season with the characters we already know with a different case. Something with the aunt, dad, etc.

Re: The Killing (2011 AMC Series)

My theories have changed a lot since the beginning of the show, but I think I know who it is. (it sucked me back in....wife and I watched the last few episodes last night). Curiosity killed the cat.

And the episode with Jack missing was HORRIBLE. Great acting as usual, but did nothing to help the storyline out.

It would be horrible to get rid of the cast especially since Michelle Forbes is getting Emmy buzz as is Mirellie Enos.

There is absolutely no way the show can continue with the same family short of an all-timer of a bad finale. More importantly, no one wants to see any more of this family. That's half the problem.

Michelle Forbes is horrific on that show, easily the worst actor by a country mile. Where in the fuck to you see her getting awards buzz? Seriously, link that please.

Keeping Mirellie would be logical......

But Michelle Forbes? She may be getting emmy buzz (I havent seen any though), but all she is doing is crying. Horrible.

And like I said, it would be stupid to have them involved in another crime/case that lasts another season. Wouldnt make any sense.

But if they follow the original version, we already know what happens.

But just out of curiosity....tell us a scenario/another storyline that you think would work with having the same family involved again in the 2nd season.

She is nominated as Best Supporting Dramatic Actress in the Critics' Choice Television Awards. I'm with you though, she's just awful.

You're shitting me, really? I glanced through the noms today and thought they were pretty spot on. Didn't notice that one, though.

Re: The Killing (2011 AMC Series)

I'd personally like to see the series take one of the main character, such as Holder, and branch off and focus on that one character. Perhaps a backstory dealing with his drug ordeal and how he was able to make his way up in ranks, etc. etc. We'd then have that one familiar character but a new cast as well. Not sure whether this would work or not, just a thought.

That was my intentions of what I said earlier. Focus on someone we don't know a lot about and enter in their world. Obviously some characters would be gone from the show, and some would not be around as much, but some familiar faces would still be present. I enjoy a lot of characters and it would be a shame to see them all go. There can easily be a crime made up somewhere that would still involve half of the cast or so in various lengths.

Both Holder and Stan have interesting backgrounds that could make for an interesting season.

I can see AMC recasting a majority of the characters and somehow making it work though for season 2.

Re: The Killing (2011 AMC Series)

EW praised (like many publications) the series premiere, but bashed it as it went on...but they gave the season finale a score of A- saying it redeemed itself greatly...and then went on to give this tidbit of info (most of us predicted this already, but it is now true...)

They call the twist "equally exciting and infuriating" because
Click the "Show Spoiler" Button to reveal hidden text.

The article was printed a few days before the announcement of season 2 and they said that there better a season 2 because people will be upset with the ending...which means it will not be completely wrapped up (?) So I guess some of the characters will indeed still be lingering around in season 2.

Re: The Killing (2011 AMC Series)

I have a feeling the finale is gonna suck. Twists that hinge on someone completely reversing roles in five minutes are never satisfying or entertaining.

Also, its extremely obvious who EW is talking about. There's only one semi likeabke character in the entire show.

Re: The Killing (2011 AMC Series)

The redeeming factor is EW also felt the show went downhill after the first couple episodes (like many in this thread) but the gave the finale an A-.
