re: the avengers

it's a fun film. saw it twice and i'd go again. it's not that it lacked character development...it's just that marvel has taken an almost "comic book" approach to these movies. you aren't going to have a huge amount of character development in one comic, because they're putting out dozens of issues a year and developing the characters that way. the movies do the same. want to know more about iron man? rent the movie. captain america? rent the movie. thor? rent the movie, etc etc etc.

it's a neat idea when i think about it. one big saga with lots of little pieces (the solo super hero movies) marked by big water shed movies (avengers, avengers 2, etc).


and back on topic: i don't think you can compare TDKR and Avenger. Just way different aesthetics.

Of the Avengers Universe films I've seen: Iron Man > The Avengers >>>>> Iron Man 2 > Thor

And in comparison, both Begins and TDK blow those out of the water. But you are correct - completely different ways of making superhero films.

I'm guessing there will be breaks. The start time is 6:00pm, so that's 6 hours to get through Begins and TDK.

The runtime for those two combined is over 4.5 hours, so yes there will be breaks

yea but are you definitely getting BB in that, too? just because, like I said before, the promo as I originally saw it, only specifically indicated TDK being shown, but hopefully that's changed.

It specifies "The Dark Knight Trilogy Event"

Also asked management at the theatre when I was there for The Avengers

Plus parts of Begins are being converted to IMAX for the Trilogy event

Trilogy in the normal theatre for me too.

An inter-team scrimmage would imply the team is scrimmaging against themselves. I wonder if the article is a prelude of things going on in the movie, because it's cleary two different teams playing in the trailer.

Inter means between. Intra means within. Two different teams play in an inter-team scrimmage.

And as far as the Rykin Data thing, I'm wondering if it somehow plays into how Bane discovers Batman's identity. Yes the cowl comes off somehow (probs during a fight) and we see Bane talking to Bruce in the trailers, but I'm wondering if Rykin would have anything to do with how Bane gets even MORE access to Wayne - which eventually leads to him acquiring the camo-painted tumblers.

'Cause obviously it is more than him just knowing Batman's identity - as he says, his punishment must be more severe - and involves him stealing shit from Wayne Enterprises as well as terrorizing Gotham.

And that "punishment" line hitches him to the League Of Shadows for me.

So Nolan must have had a blast doing Inception since he brought most of the cast over to this movie. JGL, Cotillard, Hardy. Maybe Juno chick can play Penguin.

When does The Dark Knight get re-released? Are all theaters doing the trilogy?
