Yeah, I was a little shocked by the nearly unanimous praise.

Actually no, granted I've only seen it once, and that was right as it hit DVD so it's been a long while, but, while I didn't dislike it, overall I'd have to say I was somewhat disappointed in Burn After Reading.

Havent thought about Transylvania 6-5000 for about 15 years. Will have to re-visit that one. I remember watching that as a kid.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

So in the wake of the first V/H/S trailer coming online the other day, I started looking for some spoiler-free reviews because I know it's played at festivals. For anyone interested, here's an article, the second link is an audio review, both are spoiler-free.

http://www.horror-movies.ca/2012/05/vhs-review/

http://www.spill.com/Audio/AudioPost.aspx?audioId=1028

I'm just curious though, for those of you who are confident that you'll definitely see it, that window between the VOD release and theatrical is fairly wide, over a month. Would you get it on demand because you're super looking forward to it and so want it quickly, or are you willing to wait til early October so you can see it amongst a crowd and hearing everyone else screaming at the scares?

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Won't be paying VOD prices, but if a good VOD rip shows up, I'll probably watch it like that.

Don't really like watching horror movies with a crowd anyway, so either way, I'll probably end up downloading it.

Or if no good rips show up, I'll just wait for the Blu-ray.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Whats that movie that is coming out soon (or maybe it already did and I missed it) thats about a group of teenagers are driving in the woods and come upon some hillbillies....the movie looks like a horror movie but its actually just the hillbillies getting caught up in things that are happening by accident but it looks like they are killers.

Seen the bolded. I'll keep the others in mind.

Seen the bolded either in part or full. I have every intention to watch the Conan documentary, but one of my good friends is a big Conan fan so I'm going to wait to watch it with him.

Well played on the last recommendation.

On my to-watch list.

I've shockingly never seen Mean Girls which is streaming on Amazon, so I'm really tempted to go with that one tonight.

Mean Girls is actually quite good. It was my favorite chick comedy until Easy A came out.

I just saw that for the first time maybe 3-4 months ago, and I just fucking lost it at Gosling's reaction to Kevin Bacon

The correct answer is Rear Window

But of the two, I go with Vertigo. The haunting score and the iconic images -- most notably of the bridge -- resonated deeper in me than anything in NxNW. NxNW is a fantastic genre film whereas Vertigo is an exploration into obsession, and I think the latter appeals to me more as a concept than a mistaken identity action flick.

Shadow Of A Doubt or Strangers On A Train?

From Hell, pretty awesome Johnny Depp movie and Sherlock Holmes 2, really liked that one, more so than the first one. Robert Downey Jr is so hilarious in it
