I'm going to Irvine and Shoreline and I'm trying to figure out the best way to travel. I'd really like to stay in Irvine after the concert so I can have a few drinks and not worry about driving. If I stay in Irvine and leave for Shoreline around 6am or so on Sunday morning, what would be the best route to take? Should I head north from Irvine and go around the LA area?

Does anyone know the best airport to fly into? Whichever one is nearest the naval base in San Clemente which is where I'm going first to visit my niece.

That is a hell of a long drive. But yes, just head north and keep on driving.

Just decided def going to go to this show. Saw Tom Petty at Irvine few years back so 2nd time to the venue. Will be driving down and back from Nor-Cal. Can't wait, should be an excellent show. where is everyone sitting?

You guys def need to work on this thread, lol. So my boyfriend and I will be attending this show. Just finished up DC this weekend. AMAZING.

I am excited to see them again of course just hoping the stuff I have heard about the people and venue aren't true.

We will be staying in Irvine, we have family there.

Looked at old setlists and seems like it always a decent show at least.

Looking forward to a new venue. See you guys out there!

Hello Irvine. If anyone wants pointers on the venue like where to sit or not sit, where to stay, what to do, distance to airports or hotels, crowd info, let me know. This is my home venue and seen every DMB show, plus other acts here. Sadly I will not be there this year unless something changes, but still love to help other fans who have any questions.

Hey Ben, someone recommended flying into John Wayne. My nieces husband thinks I should fly into LAX. I'm not sure which is best. I'll be staying on base in San Clemente with my niece and her husband.

Def fly into John wayne. Its only 20ish min from San Clemente. LAX is over an hr away from San Clemente with no traffic.... JW is a breeze compaired to LAX... youll thank me later.

100% agree with the above statement, especially if you are headed to Chula on Friday. The only reason to even think about LAX would be cost, but unless the difference is like $150, fly to John Wayne.

P.S. I grew up in San Clemente. Love that place.

So my boyfriend and I will be in pit. Of course we have never been to this venue, so any tips on how early to arrive prior to gates opening and what not? I know Deer Creek gets busy fast, I have no idea about out there....?

Welcome to a new venue on your tour stop. The line you will see form at the gates before the show will be for the lawn. The lawn here is very steep, so people are always trying to get a good spot. As for the pit here, it is pretty small, so I would recommend as with any GA environment, you plan ahead. Better to be in early and have a spot, then try and wiggle your way to a good view. Have a great show.

Thanks. It looked pretty small in pictures. I am assuming lots open at 3 and gates open at 6, like always. Looking forward to experiencing a new venue.

Hey guys, I need some irvine camping advice. I'm driving in from az for this show & I was hoping to do some beach camping. Any suggestions??

A few things for my Irvine DMB goers:

1. I am looking for 3 tickets in seats (though I'll buy 4 if I have to); my little brother is flying in for teh show and it'll be my girlfriends first show!

2. I will be getting together a party bus to take us from LA (West Hollywood area) to Irvine and back. Still waiting on capacity and total cost, but it should be pretty reasonable and one hell of a good time. I'll keep y'all updated when more details get solidified

I was just checking and this is apparently sold out. Or there are no more tickets available on ticketmaster/livenation. Am I wrong in saying this is one of only 6 or 7 shows that sold out this tour?

Conversely, I think Chula is only 50% full.

I am hardly an expert but in the past there has been a solid (for non Gorge West of the Colorado River) tailgating at Irvine.

Right. This makes it the first sold out LA area show since 2006 Hollywood Bowl though (not including Greek Theatre).

By the way, I predict the East Coast gets a Winter Tour to support the album and then we get a very brief West Coast tour in January...kind of like the 2003-2004 Dave & Friends pattern (but expanded in the East).

Perfect storm... No LA show, and it is right in the middle of LA and SD, so most folks will travel to it.. Also not southwest shows either...

I have gotten in the habit of waiting til the last minute to get DMB tickets, because I have ALWAYS been able to get them (knock on wood) - I have a feeling, tho, it might be more of a challenge this time around for the Irvine show.

And that has me checking the ticket exchange boards and Ticketmaster websites like I am waiting for the results of a preganancy test...

You might also want to check for instants, I'm not sure when those will be coming up.
