Probably said this after the show last night on one of these forums but I just got to listen for the first time since last night and The Riff is fucking awesome. That along with the music for the promo are just amazing. After a nervous first few tracks I'm up and running again with the possibly of an excellent album. 2 really solid tracks so far and this new one is just sensational.

this song rocks.. lillywhite did a great job producing this.. every song so far to me has that old dmb sound to it, and i like that a lot.

I think that I can confidently say that I'd rather hear this song play over pretty much any other DMB song this year at Alpine, I'm really, really hoping for it. It's fresh, it's deep, it's rockin.' It reminds me of BTCS material with about a decade and a half's worth of growth/maturity added. I have it from good sources that "the best is yet to come" as far as this album is concerned, and if it gets better than "The Riff", I'm all in.
