the second single will not drop mid-july. unless mercy is just a promotional single. but if mercy is a true single they will shoot a video and do all that shit. and if they do you wont see a 2nd single until at least the album drops, at the earliest.

Can anybody tell me other DMB forums I can go to? I'd like to find a forum that has some mods or something. Anything that would reduce half of the horribly off topic and ridiculous posting that goes on here. Appreciate the help.

Cali said that the single that was origionally planned had a title where both words were the same. Belly, Belly is the only song on the tracklisting that fits that so I would assume since they made Mercy the lead single that Belly, Belly will be next. Probably right before the launch of the album since it has been said it's a very happy, upbeat song that will more than likely have more radio appeal to the casual listener to get them to go buy the album.

Ahh I apologize. I thought they moved up the date for Mercy. Then Belly Belly will probably drop mid-late August

thanks dinguses. do you guys think there is some sort of outro to mercy that we're not hearing that transitions into gaucho? if you play the two back-to-back, it isn't the smoothest of transitions.. which makes me think maybe they faded out early on youtube's mercy or perhaps they do some little jams in between songs ala BTCS. thoughts? k that is all.

I have a feeling that the jam at the end of Mercy has been cut short on the youtube video. I'm really hoping that what we've heard from the youtube isn't the full treatment.

I think it will segue. They clearly cut off Mercy.

I think ive read all of these pages, so i dont think this has been mentioned before, at least not in this thread, but stefan tweeted a few days ago that he played rhodes on drunken soilder.

i don't think mercy segues into gaucho. the live outro is the same as the studio outro, just longer. they faded out the studio outro because otherwise it would just be the live outro, which is very repetitive. they don't need that on an album. the album version needs to be tight and crisp. the shortened outro gets the idea across. they don't need any more than whats there. what we hear on youtube is more than likely all there is to it.

Pretty sure the first thing we knew about BW was the album art. They did that square by square reveal of it and the last piece showed up and said "BWAGGK" and everyone went crazy.

With the four studio track times we know we are sitting at about 35 minutes left for 7 songs. It looks like The Riff and If Only will be around the 6 min mark each if you take a rough estimate of their live times and cut them down a bit. Sweet is right under 4 minutes normally. That leaves the other 4 songs at about 4 minutes 45 seconds each roughly.

So it looks something like this.

Broken Things (Seek Upish guitar) (~4:45)
Belly Belly (Happiest song ever wrote, was other single option, upbeat, tripping billiesesque) (~4:45)
Mercy (4:36)
Gaucho (4:46)
Sweet (~4)
The Riff (~6)
Belly Full (~2:30)
If Only (~6)

If Belly was supposed to be a single, I think it will be closer to 4 minutes along.

I hope If Only isnt 6 minutes on the album. I very much like it, but I dont think it needs 6 minutes on the album, especially after they cut Mercy short.

Also, just because the album will flow doesnt mean every song is going to segue into another song. Flow can also mean themes, styles, etc. not just seguing.

Are you saying you think it should be longer than 6 minutes or shorter?

If you watch this version of If Only the actual song structure itself is about 5 minutes then they jam for 2 and change after that. So if it is shorter than 6 minutes you are basically killing that whole jam.

So I am hoping it is around 6 because I love this song and want it to have some sort of outro on the album.
