Has this been discussed? Kinda interesting. I mean I'm a Nats fan so obviously I'm biased, but does Maddon even have an argument here?
Peralta never threw a pitch. Don't know how that will figure in this..

holy shit, I only learned earlier today that Dickey for the Mets threw two consecutive 1-hitters. First time it's ever been done, I hear.

No, it's been done before. I forget the guys name but he threw back to back 1 hitters and both hits came with 2 outs in the 9th.

Got tickets for tomorrow's Rangers game after I heard they were bringing up Roy Oswalt. Should have a good first start against the Rockies

Not sure if this is being talked about nationally, bit Scherzer's little brother killed himself last night and he pitched this afternoon. Too bad the tigers couldnt get some runs.

Shut it. Should be a good battle for the division, D Backs are still close too. I hate that the Dodgers played so well but weren't able to get a nice cushion on the division lead.

Sorry, but I can't let three straight shutouts go unnoticed.

I agree that if you guys can get Kemp back, should make a fun dog days as we head toward October. Without him though, not sure you guys can hang much longer.

Holy shit, Aaron Hill just hit for the cycle. Sound familiar? Probably because he also did it 11 days ago. Fastest time to do it twice since 1887, second player in MLB history to hit for the cycle twice in one season. And he did it in a perfect 4 at bats

Re: ***2012 MLB Season Thread***

If it keeps up like this, NL West will be Dbacks/Giants battle for the second year in a row. Both teams are heating up right now but we have a very manageable schedule until the break (Brewers, Padres, Dodgers). Giants still got plenty of work. Idk, Dodgers are definitely on the way down.

Matt Kemp is great.

He plans to return to the line-up on July 13th, but wait....he wants to be in the homerun derby??

Jesus....what a diva.

So do the D-Backs. They're good, but once Kemp gets back in the line-up the Dodgers should heat back up. There is a ton of baseball left.

He's hitting .325 with about the same # of RBIs as Salty. Pierzynski has a case to be in over him but I don't really think Salty does. Wieters has no business being there though.

I'm dead fucking serious

I think any of those three are just as equal for various reasons.

The bigger joke is the dumbass fans voting Mike Napoli in.

Mauer also has the highest OBP in the AL, and 4th highest in MLB.

Not to mention we are missing Mark Ellis, Andre Ethier, and Ted Lilly. Not that they are all great players, but they are more serviceable than a lot of players in the lineup currently.

Re: ***2012 MLB Season Thread***

Anyone catch the Dbacks/Brewers game today? Pitchers duel, 9 hits total, 1 HR. Rickie Weeks made two errors on one play- first a fielding error, then a throwing error. No big deal, bases got loaded for Justin Upton, he struck out, inning over. Fast forward to the bottom of the ninth, one out, Gomez on first. Patrick Corbin came in to pitch the 9th, he throws to first about 15 times keeping Gomez close, but he still goes to steal, Miggy throws to second, error by Hill, he gets up and goes to third. Chris Young in center throws to third, way off target, the ball bounces into the crowd, extra base to Gomez, he hops home, game over. Stupid defensive mistakes, terrible way to lose such a defensive game.
