Every show so far from this Europe tour looks great. DMB? Most of it is forgettable

ehhhhhh, not forgettable. best tour ever? not really but i've been pretty pleased overall and i think most people have been.
i just think pearl jam, in general, is a little overrated around here. they're a great band, don't get me wrong.............they're just a different band than what dmb is.

they are.

i really appreciate when the band really cares about what the die hards want to hear though. it shows loyalty is given back to the people that are very loyal and help pay checks. i love them for that.

lets be real, DMB doesnt do this well. at all.

ive been okay with it overall. it only started effecting me the last 2-3 years when medicore BW dominated sets and the fillers were blackjack, cant stop, cornbread, eh hee and others that are taking spots of classics.

again with last night. why cut pig, and typical? cut shake me, eh hee, and seven. weve heard them enough lately. nobody really knows nor cares about them.

The fillers are the problem with DMB. Just way too many songs that are just meh. They have cut back on the BW but it may have made sets worse in a way.

Any show that anybody goes to on this board is the best of all time regardless of who it is. DMB, PJ, Phish, etc. It doesn't matter. You're still riding off of the excitement of the show. Was the show you saw the best ever? Probably not. Same goes for DMB. I guarantee after WPB this year Jake will post something on the main page like he does most every year that it was an epic show (it's his website he can do what he wants). It's the same argument that the past few years of rare Halloween shows have been epic! Now that its in regular rotation is every show the best ever? No. I'm glad people who go to PJ, etc. shows have a great time. You should. You pay a lot of money for it and you have every right to post and make threads. However, saying PJ blows DMB away is slightly ridiculous....

isnt that incredible? they have cut back BW completely, but the songs that took over are in some cases worse.

OOMH is in regular rotation for christs sake.

its ridiculous because this is a DMB fan site. but if youre a big fan of both, its really not too hard to figure out whos best right now by a considerable margin.

I have never left a PJ show asking for more. Happens all the time with DMB now. I would say since the Standup era you are lucky to get 3 great shows out of 5 setlist wise. I have seen some amazing DMB shows since 05 but they are just not the norm.

im considering never seeing DMB again after camden. i had fun, obviously, but the shows were just eh.

Explain to me how all the chicks around me at Charlotte went into a frenzy when Cornbread started up. That there is the problem - DM hears them going nuts and accepts that as a yes vote. Most in this community have a better appreciation for the classics that are going to waste on the shelf...the average 'fan' doesn't have a clue how overplayed these songs are. They're not disappointed in the wasted potential, because they're not aware of it.
